The concept

Ahoy, everyone and welcome to this little project of mine. What is this place and why should you care? Well, you shouldn't, but please hear me out!

The Alleyway is a place for people who love and embrace their pets wholeheartedly. We welcome every pet enthusiastically in our midst in the hopes of giving new users and old veterans the inspiration they need to thrive on Subeta. The goal is to resurrect those year old pets that would roam the official spotlight and give newbies the motivation to get their ideas, concepts and artistic expressions acknowledged by other players! This place shall be a safe space where people can post their creations regardless of their skills as long as their intentions are clear. There are no restrictions in terms of what parts of a pet are seen, how beautiful the overlay is or how slick the code seems to be. The only requirement is that your pet is complete, loved and ready to be offered to the rat king. Completeness does not imply a full TC, some overlay or any done coding! If you feel like you would like to share your pet, I certainly think that it is complete!

On the website that you can find at the top of your page, you will be able to send your pets through a formular to me where I will check them out, most-likely accepting them. Do read all of the information on the site, so you know the fundamental idea of this project! In the end, there hopefully will be a list of beautiful pets that will serve as inspiration for others. Do note that your submission can absolutely be a former Subeta Spotlight winner!

The Limelight

The limelight is the main showcase of your dear pets. Every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday a new legend will be told. Every pet will not only be showcased with their respective image, but also with a quick summary provided by you! What was your vision? What are you proud of? In order to not tone police and to allow more grotesque and experimental pets, every entry will have to provide a content warning. Winners will receive a package of rations for you to enjoy, so your labour does not go unnoticed! On top of that, I will provide you with some code for a small trophy for your pet, if you feel like showing that off. More on the submission process and the current legend you can find here.

Monthly Offerings

Every month, a theme will be presented for everyone to take part in. This will be a comprehensive list of pets that fall under a certain topic. Their relation to it can be very loosely, so don't worry about getting it right! What counts is your intent. Here, again, the same rules apply as for the limelight. Everything goes, no obligations aside from the completeness of your pet! Among all entries, I will start a raffle for some goodies! More information on all of this, you can find here.

Support and even more Information

Since this project is currently managed by just me, I will appreciate support in any way or form! If you feel like this project could be something you'd enjoy to get your creative juices flowing, please consider sharing your pets! In case you would love to contribute to the goodie bags, I would be more than happy about some gifts that you would love to share with fellow pet creators. Spread the word, tell your friends, this is really for the sole purpose of bringing the pets back and seeing what other people on this site are capable of! In case there are any concerns, any feedback or potential questions, ask ahead!

Glad you're interested! <3 The monthly theme is something I wanted to serve as another activity that you can do if you are even more invested in working on pets! I wanted to kind of elevate the concept of a spotlight, so creating this little raffle could be a fun way for people to explore the topics! o/

I am all about periodic themes. :D Looking forward to seeing many pets in this lil spotlight archive. I am really impressed with the website you set up, like an entire dang website for this which is very slick and responsive, it is so dang cool.

How "done" do pets gotta be for this, or maybe a better question is, what might be some examples of reasons why a pet might not be accepted into the pool? And, will "winners" be posted on this thread too? Also, apologies if I ask questions that are answered somewhere, I am a big space cadet! I have read thru it but I might have missed something that's pretty clear, just let me know.

Thank you so much for your submission and questions! I will definitely add some more details to the completeness part. With complete I mean you being satisfied with it! I will not be counting TC items or anything like that. If you think that you would like to show it off, it sure is complete! And thank you so much, I sure would love to see the little archive grow! I will use the next week or two to gather enough submissions to see whether people are genuinely interested! And yes, yes, I will post the winners on here too, so people can comment on them! ^^

Absolutely! I have been thinking about how to automate some of the processes and I'd love to give some people some more access to the submissions! Unfortunately, there aren't many submissions right now, but I will come back to you.

Just as a general heads up: I am currently working my way through some active users, sending them invites to kinda get the thing rolling. Currently I have only nine submissions which is not a number I am comfortable working with right now. Luckily, I have some more time on my hands, so maybe after spreading the word, I can start with a steady stream of limelight presentations! Again, don't be shy to send anything in! I really can't express how grateful I am for every submission I got so far. They are all absolutel delightful! <3

Oh do not worry, you can submit pets that are not fit for the theme to the limelight and not the monthly offering! Feel free to send in whichever pet you are proud of and would love to showcase!

I love this user run space that you've created! I've submitted a pet for the Limelight option and can't wait to see what people offer! Pets and characters are my favorite part of this community so this is a great way of injecting some energy and excitement into this part of Subetan life.

Oh wonderful people, I must say I am so very happy to see all of your feedback and glorious submissions! Here's a quick update on what is currently happening! I have planned out and written the posts for the first limelight showcases. Next Thursday will be the beginning of the constant stream of pet profiles as long as there are any available! That means that this is you sign to throw away any of your doubts and just submit as much as you love! You can spread the word if you'd like to support the process. I usually just skim through the forums to find users whose pets I find intriguing so if I have written you a message ~ I think you're really cool and creative!

Each week, winners will receive a message on Monday and a care package at the end of the week. All of the entries are just wonderful, so don't you worry about when it will be your turn! Also, feel free to join the forum group for a notification when a new profile has been posted.
