I can't wait for masquerade this year! It'll be my first event after coming back from an unplanned hiatus. I'm way more excited than I probably should be, lol. I've already made half a dozen HAs in preparation. I'll probably make half a dozen more before it starts. I love fancy dress and steampunk, which is why I am so excited. I've gotten more into cyberpunk too, because of the items on here.

So are you excited yet? Preparing? Going on Subeta while at work to dance? XD

It is one of my absolute favorite holidays! I can't wait! I need to get some HAs done up....

I'm ready! I just changed my HA so I'd be ready to go. I love dressing up my avatar during this time as well. It wasn't until last year that I started really loving cyberpunk, and now I can't get enough of it, mostly because of the items here. The art is always so darn good, I'm eager to see what the artists have come up with this year. Survival is fun, but there's something about Masq that really gets me. (Probably because I wish we had balls and dances like this now!)

I feel a bit silly, but I'm new lol. What does masquerade entail that you need to make many different avatars? Is it like a costume ball instead of just a masked ball? Speaking of cyberpunk, hehe, I've been messing around with my avatar I guess just in time maybe?

Well people just like dressing up for the part really. You ask for and accept dances from other users who all wear masks and you can get trinkets to be spent at the two different shops that open with new items. It's a cross between Steampunk but also more modern rave/cyberpunk themes.

I'm excited and have made 3 Masq avatars so far :) I have a mask layered under my current HA just in case it starts unexpectedly, so people can dance with me without having to wait for me to change my avatar.

I also just got back to Subeta last month from (probably my longest ever!) hiatus, right in time for Survival... which I'd somehow missed for something like eight consecutive years(!), so I was pretty stoked about being able to finally pick up some zombie skins, at last. :D And it's increased my enthusiasm for Masq; I'm trying to make at least one HA for each skin, to show off some undead flesh on the dance floor (managed 7/8 so far, but Crystalitis has me stumped...).

IIRC from previous years, when you view dances with your partner in the ballroom (anyone else actually do that? Just me?), it strips away some of the layers that your full HA has... Assuming this is still a thing, can anyone confirm which layers are taken out? (I'm guessing Backdrop, Foreground, and Ground.)

I'm excited to see whatever wearables we get this year. And food as well. A lot of the Lounge items make me hungry. For some reason I find the event the most fun out of the others, maybe because it happens during Spring when the days are getting longer and brighter and warmer.

Always excited for the techno-y clothes.

I usually have one or two avatars I just circulate and re-wear throughout all of masquerade. That said, masquerade, luminaire and morostide are my favorite site holidays with masquerade mostly being because of the steampunk/cyberpunk aesthetic that's throughout all the stuff related to the holiday.

So yeah, I'm excited to see what the new clothing is for this year.

I've also just come back from a hiatus, except mine was like two years lmao. :D I'm actually excited to be back, a few things have changed drastically since I was last here (pet names are no longer unique!!!!) and Masq is the next event, yay!

This will be my first time participating but sounds absolutely fun. I've messed around with avatar styles quite a bit before and after Survival. Just need to remember I can save them hah. I'm not sure if I can complete one idea but I'll attempt the best I can of my tiefling because the need smacked me in the face after seeing those jeweled pair of horns. As for steampunk, can sometimes be picky with it but more so fond of creatures in the style than clothing. Very excited after seeing you guys discuss it

I wonder if it will start soon (on time) or be delayed since survival was delayed. I have 1 avatar waiting, masq isn't really my thing haha

Masq is the best event of the year! Can't wait!!

Masq is fun, but it's not my most favorite holiday so I don't usually go too crazy with my HAs either lol. I might make one up a bit later, but I've also got a mask on underneath my current stuff just in case, so I can be prepared for whenever it starts.

I do always enjoy seeing all of the new items and stuff though! Even if I haven't used many of them myself, they are pretty neat. Especially the foods always look really tasty and make me hungry. :P

Looking forward to new wearables, but it isn't my favorite holiday.
