Covid-19 has taken a toll on all of us and I know how hard it can be first hand. My mother and grandmother work in a hospital every day and they have been sleeping in the garage to keep my sister safe. I know there is a wide variety of Front Line Heroes and I wanted to suggest a few items to give them the shout out that they deserve. I have scoured the Interwebs of Subeta looking for Scrubs and I can't find any. That honestly made me really sad... So I have 4 suggested items.
Is this what yall meant...?

This is awesome! The site should do this! Maybe even already should have.
No one on Staff can be against this... One of their very own, is a nurse. :) [edit]Also, I dont think the site should think that to put out items about this and those in the medical field, has in any way a political stance/vibe. Its just the right thing to do. :D
Support for all of these.
There has been a fair bit of demand for medical/protective items. These two topics for example. More Medical Items Item suggestion: PPE for workers

I think this would be a great way to expand Medicontra - maybe it could even have sections such as items for patients, items for healthcare workers, and preventative items. Similar to how the Go Outside shop works.

They don't need to be wearable, please add boxes of vinyl and latex gloves, boxes of disposable masks, guaifenisin in both time-release and regular.
Subeta has only one hazmat suit. Some disposable ones in blue, white, and with the tape markers could be added to Medicontra.
The only thermometer we have is an oral one. There are now non-contact ones that they read temperature off your forehead or wrist. They are doing these at my eye doctor and at the California DMV before you can even enter these places.
Thank you all for your support! I scoured the entire site for scrubs and i was actually upset that I couldn't find any.
Anyway, thank you <3 I appreciate you <3 and I hope you have a nice day <3

That sounds like a good idea, I think that if we had lots of items, the shop would become too hard to navigate and find certain items without there being categories. It would also look more professional if it was more organised (by that I mean in the context of it being a shop, not anything to do with how the site is organised).
We could even have a monthly collection themed around medical stuff, I don't think we've had that before, have we? But I also don't know how far in advance the themes are planned.
I'm also still hoping that we get some plain-coloured masks, and hand sanitiser items.
Yes, with an addition.
All essential workers need to get more attention - I think that minimum wage retail workers, such as grocery cashiers and fast food joint workers deserve the recognition as well; they've been expected to pull more than their weight in this situation.
We need a month to recognize all essential workers; postal service, public transportation, retail, food workers and more. Just a month to go and show support to all people who did their 100% during the pandemic, and it's not limited to healthcare workers!
If anyone else has more item suggestions please let me know! I'm really excited about 's idea and I would be overjoyed if Subeta would consider it.

Not sure if this counts but I've love to see some Chai plushies dressed up as nurses (in scrubs/mask) doctors, paramedics/EMTs and all that. Like those bears you see that you give as gifts that are often dressed up as (well doctor or mailman or what have you, a different profession)
Just a cute little idea to go with all the other suggestions?
I really like the idea of bears/chai dressed up as professions. Kinda the opposite of that grumpy bear plushie series.
I've been trying to think of some things too. I'm not sure a whole month is the way to go - not because they don't deserve a month, but because that's too long for people to really pay attention to it. I think it would be better concentrated into a week of celebration where something's happening every day and we could all get the festive/grateful feeling.
Then again, I'm on Subeta often - maybe a month would be better for people who can't log in every day? Or maybe the Subeta team would need that long to roll out everything related to this? Idk.
Maybe there could be a new NPC, or a reimagined one.
A month is perfectly fine; if we can have monthly themes that are "lol we messed up our haircuts lmao" I think that essential workers can furnish enough item/site features ideas.
I want a small city bus item - given that I work in the public transportation field.
My point is not that there isn't enough ideas - my point is that a month is not meaningful in people's consciousnesses.
Like you saying there was a month devoted to messed up haircuts is news to me - it didn't phase me in the slightest. I think that monthly "events" or "themes" are much easier to ignore.
But I could be in the minority about that - maybe other people pay closer attention than I do. Or maybe if the theme is as meaningful as essential workers it would reach a higher level of consciousness.
I really like this idea! Definitely echo the suggestion to spotlight some other essential workers alongside medical professionals. (public transit, retail, truck drivers, ect!)
Pre-hospital would be great, too. EMT/Paramedic/Firefighter stuff, since they all deal with the stuff before PT's make it to the ER. (Well, the people who call for transport, you get the idea)
Either way, I support 110 percent. :D
I'm changing my mind on this now - since there are so many different kinds of essential workers, I think a month could work, and each week could be devoted to a different group.
Let's see - thus far we have:
That's one possible grouping - someone might have a better idea.
Yayyyyyy!!!!!
I absolutely love that idea! I really don't want them to be collection Items because i want them to be accessible for everyone. I also think that Introducing a new NPC would be really amazing. Its been a while...
