I forgot what brand it was, but I did try one that tasted like bubblegum, but it just drudged up memories of taking medicine when I was younger.
Anyone have suggestions or preferences on toothpaste? Stories related to toothpaste?
I use aquafresh and sensodyne personally as my go-to toothpastes usually. They are both mint flavor but I don't think they're as strongly mint flavored as Colgate though.
If you're looking for completely non-mint flavors though, I know Colgate has had a cinnamon flavored one and a strawberry one( one of their kids' toothpaste flavors) in the past. I've never personally used them though.
When I learned about it, I used a brand called Oranurse. Its unflavored and non foaming, suitable for my odd habit. I don't use it anymore because it comes from Britain, making it unsuitable for regular use stateside.
My personal preferences lean toward Arm & Hammer lately. Marvis comes in a lot of funky flavors. Korean toothpaste is nice if you like more herbal things like bamboo salt and pine. I like a Japanese one too that has a subtle apple scent.

ProNamel because my enamel could use some help, but I’ll generally take whatever’s available as long as it has fluoride and isn’t cinnamon flavored. I don’t rinse my mouth after brushing since it’s supposed to help the fluoride “stick,” so to speak.

I used to use a kid's mango flavored toothpaste. They also had strawberry but it tasted like sadness. I don't really like the taste of mint at all though. I had to switch back to hardcore "adult" toothpaste because I can't find the flavored stuff anywhere anymore :|
Casual and perpetually coming back.
The mint-ier the better for me. I don't feel like i've washed my teeth if my mouth doesn't feel minty. I think i'd gag with a cinnamon flavored toothpaste ~ the thought alone makes me gag. I like cinnamon. only in apple/pumpkin pie XD
And people don't like the mint flavored toothpaste?! I thought this is all you guys use in the US XD Mostly because i noticed how everyone seems to have snow-white teeth.
Why would you brush your teeth before eating? o.o The idea is beyond BIZARRE for me. Brushing the teeth is supposed to clean the teeth, while the food will 'soil' them so to speak.. And brushing at night is supposed to suppress hunger, thus snacking when you're not supposed to eat.
I'm not trying to judge you and your choices, far from it. i am a bit weirded out (not gonna lie) and i'm thinking now that perhaps you have some knowledge i lack...? And that would explain a lot and make sense.

i use parodontax in the morning and evening because my gums bleed like hell and i found it's the only thing that helps :' ] and colgate in the afternoon to keep the whiteness haha
I started using Crest Gum Detoxify toothpaste within the last year? I find it very helpful really.
I used fluoride-free parodontax for a long time, than elmex sensitive, but now I either use a herbal-mint flavour one from Alverde (european cruelty free eco-label brand) or a lemon flavour one with activated charcoal (a local small brand made without palm oil derivatives and it's cruelty free). But I'm in Europe... I think from the 'bigger' brands maybe Lush has some tooth pastilles and tooth jelly with other than a minty taste.

I use Tom's of Maine Whole Care most of the time, but I'll use other toothpastes as long as they have fluoride in them! My mom is a dental hygienist so sometimes I'll get free mini-tubes of random brands.
I use Colgate Complete but I have never been a fan of mint either. Used to use a cinnamon flavored toothpaste that I really liked but it was whitening and therefore horrible for sensitivity. Had used kids toothpaste for a long time as well, but need something that helps with the sensitivity and Colgate Complete does everything.

I use sensodyne all the time its not too minty but my teeth love it,

I use a white Colgate but I have the biggest thing for kid's toothpaste. Specially the blue glittery ones.
I've been using the Crest Plus Scope one for a few years and I like it.
I had to use PreviDent, a prescription toothpaste, for awhile due needing more fluoride and the bubble gum flavor the pharmacy gave me the first time was sooo bad. Thank God they had other flavors when I was due for a refill.
In the past (10+ years ago) I used different brands like Colgate, Theramed, putzi, Signal, elmex, Oral-B, blend-a-med, Odol-med3, dentalux, Sensodyne (my mothers mom was using this) and alkmene.
But I never really liked the flavour. I LOVE lemon and tea tree oil/melaleuca oil. °O° I was also using three different toothy tabs from LUSH back around 2013-2015 I guess. As my sister was in scotland around 2017/2018, she bought me three tubes, 2x Dr. Organic Tea Tree Toothpaste and 1x AloeDent with Aloe Vera flavour. I liked booth flavours. ^o^
I also used in 2019 from The Humble Co. the charcoal toothpaste. Since december last year I use the Aloe Vera one from Urtekram - my sister don't really like it, so she gave it to me. At my birthday last month I was gifted with Denttabs (brand) with mint flavour and "Nature Swift" (sorry, I translated it in english) toothpaste also with mint flavour.
I try out a lot of things. But lemon, aloe vera, tea tree oil/melaleuca oil and charcoal are my favourite flavours since 10 years now. Can't wait until my old and new toothpaste and tabs are consumed, so I can explore new toothpaste or tabs. ^__^

I use to use Sensodyne a lot a few years ago when I needed it. I never had an issue with the flavor, so maybe I'll try it again.. hmm. It's just more expensive.
Not sure I could do cinnamon.. something about that doesn't seem right lol! Strawberry sounds good, though.
I've never heard of Oranurse :o I'll give it a look.
Ooooh, that sounds interesting. Is there a specific place you're able to get them? Amazon?
Yeah, I like Sensodyne too.. I just wish it wasn't so expensive.
Interesting.. I haven't heard of that bit about not rinsing. I mean, it makes sense?
Yeah, the thought of cinnamon seems really weird to me too! I think you're supposed to brush your teeth right before you eat for the protection? :o At least that is what I've been told. Though, I think it's mostly just a timing thing.. like, I brush my teeth as part of my morning routine and don't normally eat until after I'm all ready and can sit down (or many times, an hour or so later).
Another one I've never heard of! I don't think I realized how many brands are out there..
I haven't used Crest in ages, but I think it's like the same flavor as Colgate?
I just googled Alverde and it looks good... but yeah, not available around here it seems. When you say Lush, do you mean those tablets? Have you tried them before? They look really interesting and I'm down for anything eco friendly.
Samples are the best!! I had an allergic reaction to a deodorant that was Tom's brand that was bad enough to make me avoid that brand -- which isn't really fair, because it ended up being because I'm allergic to lavender and nothing wrong with the product itself... but it's already been associated! :(
Yeah, that's what I've mostly been using -- the Colgate Complete. I'm just not a fan of the flavor. So you liked the cinnamon? xD
Ewwwww - glad they were able to get you another flavor!
Those sound soooo good! Did you like those tablet ones? I've been eyeing them recently, but wasn't sure how well they worked.
I personally never heard of brushing teeth before a meal. o.o i will look into it. But yea usually, in the morning, this is what a normal person is doing: wakes up and goes to the bathroom where among other things, they brush their teeth, then they go have breakfast. And the food tastes horrible because of that :(
I guess, the majority of people would not run back to the bathroom to brush their teeth AFTER breakfast. i prefer having breakfast before i brush my teeth, o that i won't alter the taste of my coffee... 😂
Thing is, i thought we brush to remove the food taste and residue rom between the teeth. The process also helps with cutting down appetite.

I can't say I've done any research on it in the past decade or so.. and things always change. I understood that you do it before brushing to create a protective layer to prevent bacteria and stuff from sticking to your teeth or the acids from breaking down your enamel? This could all be a lie though xD Who knows? Anymore I don't normally eat until at least 2 hours after I brush my teeth. Sometimes I end up not brushing at night until after dinner, since I've been eating it earlier now than I'm home all day.
Well -- if you want to suppress an appetite, I can tell you brushing before you eat will do that xD
