Fireside should be starting at some point next week, I can't wait to see which kinds of items there will be.

I've always seen Fireside as being based on Bonfire Night, which we have in the UK, rather than Thanksgiving, which we don't celebrate here, but I think the holiday is intended as a mixture of both? Or at least it was to begin with? There used to be firework items for it, but I think those are used more for the New Year now. I just like the autumn aesthetic, and the coziness of some of the items. It's a shame we couldn't properly celebrate Bonfire Night this year, I really liked the family gatherings.

I was wondering if they would bring back the storytelling contest after it was put on hold, but apparently Rah is in charge of that, and she's not available right now. It would be good if we had an update about it, though, if it's going to be used for one of the holidays next year, or if it's just been cancelled.

I always look forward to Subeta holidays...more so than rl ones sometimes lol. I'm probably going to regret giving away all of my extra pumpkins if Fantine needs more again this year. shrug

I'm excited that I joined just in time for a Holiday.

I'm hoping that it might start today so we have 2 weeks of it, and if not, then maybe tomorrow instead? It's just cause we had 2 weeks for it for the first time last year, and I don't think they want to extend it into December again, they only did so last year because of the errors caused by moving servers that meant the event got delayed.

I have a feeling Fireside will start today too... buuut I could be wrong. I always look forward to Subeta holidays and autumn is my favorite time of year. Can't wait to see the new items!

Yes, I'm hoping it will be today as well so that we still have a good amount of time, unless they do extend it a few days into December. But they might end up having less new items this year which could make up for the lack of time. There aren't really any wait times like most of the other holidays have anyway, just having to load lots of pages to find floating objects (unless they replace that with something else).

With wildfires devastating the west coast, Fireside should have been replaced by an holiday representing Best Girl Tempest, imo.

I haven't participated in Fireside in years because it's been....forgettable? It's hard being the holiday between the two biggest ones.

Doesn't help that a lot of the items are "imagery of Red Rreign" and "imagery of Red Rreign, but with a leaf wreath". D:

That's an holiday that could use a Neugarten-level of reskinning right now.

also speaking as someone from the perpetually on fire golden state, i don't really want fireside to get reskinned

because i like having the easygoing holiday just being about being toasty and warm and spending time w people uvu

(also because i wasn't particularly impressed w the neugarten revamp, so i expect to be disappointed w any other holiday revamp. basically, i think it's fine to have a low-key "take a break" holiday after the big fall click-click-click holiday and before the big "time for gifts!" holiday)

I look forward to every holiday just 'cos it means something different to do. I don't think Fireside needs revamping, although all the Rreign items do get a bit tiresome by the end ^X^; Kudos to staff for coming up with ideas for new ones every year!

I just like the cosiness/coziness (how do you spell that?) of Fireside. Although it wouldn't surprise me if they stopped making Red Rreign items and instead re-released older ones, some of those are very expensive to buy and have only had a chance of being re-released through the Free Shop.

Cause I'm quite sure if it was starting today then there'd be items in the directory by now. Or maybe there will be less new items to get this year so there's still enough time to get it all.

Fireside tends to be one of the shorter holidays. Last year was an exception because of all of the issues they had with the site at the time, and it started later than usual to begin with (Nov. 24).

But if you look back further historically, it usually lasts closer to around 10-12 days, so it's not really in the "late" period yet.

did say in the news comments for something last week that it would be starting sometime this week. As long as it starts by Friday, it would still be within the normal range based on the start dates listed above.

That said, I am looking forward to seeing what new wearables we'll get, along with the collection items and stuff from Fantine and Charity.

I know it was shorter before last year, I guess I shouldn't have assumed that it would continue to last 2 weeks after last year. I'm always making assumptions, and then getting proven wrong. I just hope there's still enough time to get everything I need. That's why I often worry about how much time we've got.

Getting nervous about how it hasn't started yet. I know it's in the typical range, but feels like it's past due.

Maybe we will see it start this weekend? Gives me some extra time to gather more pumpkins and food items!

Same, I keep checking the directory, and the news in case they've re-released an old item or have a new pet colour which tells me it definitely won't be today, but they don't usually start events this late in the day anyway unless the items have already been added.

It seems like at this rate we're getting 10 days or less, unless they either overlap it with Luminaire again, or there's less items for us to get. Again, I shouldn't have assumed that after getting 2 weeks last year, that would become the default. But we still had about 12 days or so back in 2018, didn't we? I know it started on the 18th, but I don't quite remember when it ended.

But there could be another reason it hasn't started yet, maybe the staff have stuff going on in real life at the moment that's causing delays.

Hmmm we still haven't gotten our Monthly Blake challenger... maybe once he shows up, we'll have Fireside start the next day (if we get him tonight.)
