i was curious about the gender ratio on my account.
what gender are your pets/characters?
i have:
21
14
3
[box=#ffc]Out of curiosity, I decided to see whether people tend to skew more toward female, more toward male, or a balance between the two (numbers for genderless or other genders are too negligible at the moment to be interesting).
| More Male | More Female | Balanced (+/- 5) |
| 15* | 7 | 5 |
| 55.6% | 25.9% | 18.5% |
Also, since nobody's perfectly balanced:
| More Male | More Female | More Genderless ![]() |
| 17 | 9 | 1 |
| 63% | 33.3% | 3.7% |
*The males in the first table include 's 4:1 ratio. In the second table I was able to give their 11 genderless their own category. Thus far nobody else has a genderless majority.

My pets skew toward female, I guess cuz I just feel more comfortable writing female characters (or maybe it's a little self insertion? Idk.).
Of the 16 pets with definitive personalities that I have right now, I have:

Most of my Characters are male, some rare ones female and I don't have any genderless ones.

Huh... definitely not the results I expected. I even have a few pets I need to change from female to male or genderless. My OCs are almost always female so this was a surprise!

Glitched gender: 2
I think I ended up with more males because the genderless berries used to be so expensive and the other way was creating either a Cadogre or Endeavor first. I don't care anymore to change them.

One pet is female but should be male, I just haven't gotten the berry yet. So I'm not counting them yet.

honestly, i'm shocked - at one point in my life, i was writing nothing but angsty lesbian characters, so my ratio used to look more like 6:1 female:male xD i've (mostly) grown out of that phase, and it's interesting to see that i've balanced having male and female characters almost perfectly without intentionally doing so!

This is always interesting to kind of tally up, because I used to have a vast majority male characters, then I went through a phase where I was actively trying to balance it by making more female characters... and then lately I just naturally tend to come up with character ideas in duos that are almost always one male and one female. Anyway, let's see what I'm at now...
110 pet slots (and I'm waiting on a friend to transfer over a female pet, so add a +1 to my female count, I guess?)
59
49 (50 if you count pet that I'm waiting on)

Interesting! My ratio isn't as skewed as it used to be, but I guess I still lean toward male characters. Probably partly because while I find female characters easier to design, I usually like drawing my guys a little more, hah. Anyway, the ratio is pretty likely to change again once I sort out what I want to do with some of these placeholder pets.

I'm not surprised by my tally in the slightest. A few of my girls need gender swaps to genderless, and there's a good chunk of my pets yet who may be overhauled entirely (new names etc.).

Next pet is going to be female. I just need to find the right birthday... I just don't find male characters that compelling as a whole, I guess? They're harder for me to write. A lot of my male pets are rare exceptions to the rule. :b

And one who is currently female but is being zapped (so that changes frequently) and will probably end up male eventually

asdfghjkl not surprising tbh 😂 my oc's actually used to be more 50/50 but then i started designing them too and realised i just like drawing men better haha (tbf the ratio might be a tad more balanced if i count oc's i don't have on-site but hnn what is math)
2 male 62 female
I have this strange thing for female characters. Maybe it's because I've heard that we need to write female characters for young girls to look up to?
[tot=PiplupMagby34]
Male: 94 (Mewtwo should be genderless tho) Female: 6 (Cyber will most likely get a name/gender change) Genderless: 8 (some might turn male one day, genderless is not correct xD)
currently it is: 14 female 15 male 11 genderless (+1 glitch genderless pet)
but when I get my act together and change all the genders to what they're supposed to be, I'll probably have about 15 genderless pets and way less of both female and male pets. :x
I realized I have 4 pets with no gender (Including one I didn't intend to be), one who should be female (Samora), and a mix of male and female.
I really thought I only had one non-gendered pet in Redwall.
Out of curiosity, I decided to see whether people tend to skew more toward female, more toward male, or a balance between the two (numbers for genderless or other genders are too negligible at the moment to be interesting).
| More Male | More Female | Balanced (+/- 5) |
| 10 | 5 | 4 |

Also, since nobody's perfectly balanced:
| More Male | More Female |
| 13 | 6 |
| 68.4% | 31.6% |
I've also added this to my post up above, since it's the second one in line. I'll keep that one up to date as more people chime in. :)
@ Saturnine if you want to be included I'm gonna need more exact numbers (but no worries if you don't).
