Yeah, just what you have now is fine.

But there's two ways you can count them: the genders they are now, or the genders that you intend them to be.

Personally, I counted mine as the genders I intend them to be, whether they are that or not, because that's what really matters to me. :)

Just don't mix the two - do one or the other.

Huh. Didn't know I was so heavily skewed towards female pets. I just tend to make whatever character I come up with, whatever their gender is, but I kind of want to make more boys now.

although to be honest - Bibliotaph and Breithe could be genderless because they don't have gender as the characters I've developed. Maybe I will change that... lol.

As a sidenote, to midnamoon, same. I'm a girl IRL as well, but most of my characters tend to be male though, not through any design or anything, it kind of just turned out that way.

I still need all the funds to change my pets into what I need them to be and change lots of their genders as I went for older birthdays once non-unique names became a thing.

Male - 36 Female - 6 I don't have any genderless pets because most of my pets are OCs from stories, and it's never come up lol.

I've been working on making my amount of males and females more balanced. Used to have way more males than females.

I think of my pets in distinct categories so I'm going to count them in their categories:

Interesting! A very even split between male/female and genderless/steamwork, which honestly I didn't realize. (I included ALL pets I have, including ones I'm not sure if I'll keep/change in the future, though that accounts for very few pets fwiw.)

Jazz and Danza are like...nonbinary characters that I made before I knew what nonbinary was, so little 15 year-old me was like 'they're just gender non-conforming I guess!!!'. But now I can make them genderless!

Also thought that I would be biased more heavily toward female characters, but I guess I have enough male side characters (and villains) to make up for the gap.
