I'm sorry if this has been mentioned before ..... I did not see another topic like it!

Hi! I'm MsBehavin! I have been on Subeta for over 11 yrs. and have met some of the most fantastic people I am proud to call my friend. However, I have also lost a few of these treasure friends as I am sure many of you have as well :( I have searched and searched Subeta items .... aside from a few CW tributes to our love ones who have passed, I find nothing "common" that could be used to honor these dear friends :( I find several items that say "I Love You" but NOTHING that says "I MISS YOU" !!!! PLEASE, our fearless leader and your noble Subeta Staff can you create a few items that show our dearly departed but never forgotten friends that we still think of them often and miss them horribly???

Sorry your missing your friends that aren’t here. I miss Marreshaan! Who has passed away, I was lucky I got to fly over her home land of Scotland. So I said, a prayer for her as I flew over.

Other than a few items specifically for veterans, these are the only items I could find that even vaguely bring to mind the remembrance of lost friends and loved ones. They are very general though and not really in line with the kind of thing is discussing.

I agree with this. We need some way to remember those who have passed on.

While they are all very nice items ..... most are not what I had in mind, plus they are CW's and not everyone can afford them. I really do appreciate the time spent compiling the list though, many of them I didn't know existed :D Thank you for your help and support!

I am puzzled as to what items the OP means. The memorial things I have from all my missed loved one are very personal and apply only to me.

There's always context for a more public mourning, and it's usually some big event that affects a large quantity of people. Memorial Day/Veteran's Day items are war-specific, as are Survival flowers which are plague-specific. If in RL I wear an AIDS ribbon any day other than 1st December people look at me funny, even though there's still not a cure because again they are specific to an event. Marreshaan belonged to a particular cult here in Subeta.

What is a general mourning item, and what might it look like?

I can't answer for , but in my mind, some options I'd like to see:

A sticker with the words "Missing you" Candles are often lit in memory, so a candle item with something simple in the description, like "In loving memory of my dear friend" Maybe a sad plushie holding a card that says "I miss you" (sort of this style )

The I miss you card and jollin don't seem like mourning items to me, they seem like long-time-no-see greeting cards/indirect dead-tree icebreakers/rapprochement items.

The candle I have seen in Goth stores, and also together in the same area with rat-skulls with similar descriptions attached, and black braided ribbons. The site does have tombstones, so maybe some more specific ones? Those can all be NPC Quentin things, either in their quest shop or from their special items quest drops.

Maybe mourning dress items for Atebus Revolution Masquerade, won't dance can't make me I'm grieving? I did a little googling and 'mourning cookies" were once very much a thing.

The nice thing about "I miss you" items is that they can be both, which is actually a good thing. It becomes more about how the individual using the item feels. That's why its general.

This idea is probably dumb, but I thought about the staff making special items dedicated to users who made a strong impact on the site after they pass on. I know that was helpful to new users, so in her case a "helping fairy" dress.

Or maybe the staff could be notified of tribute CWs that aren't available anymore so they can draw a similar item and release the new item as a wearable free gift. Then the friends could wear the item on their HAs to remember their late loved one.

I don't know about making tribute items for users. We already have a lot of users that get upset when we leave out celebrities and I think this would just end up worse unfortunately.

I would however love general "I miss you" items.

Support this idea 100% Its tough to find the words for how much my friends here mean to me and I am not kidding when I say this is a game site that became SO much more then that over the years. For me Subeta is facebook/twitter/myspace all rolled into one, I would LOVE to see some items to commemorate that.

And altho I can't speak for I think Lypsyl is spot on with the ideas she's mentioned here :

Side note : commissioned the custom baby bear on my HA after my mom passed. It means so much to me, I don't care what I have chosen in wardrobe, the one thing you never see me without is that bear. It's a private release, as it should be. Individual items like my little lair bear have special meaning, what we need is something more generalized.

We need some things that are available to all. Something we can wear, save in a gallery, give to a pet, put in their treasure, wherever the user chooses to put them.

Karen, Joan (Marreshaann), Gina (teardropfallen), faerie .. I miss you so much it hurts sometimes. I met you here, got to know you here, became close to you here, trust built because I felt so strongly about you here and because of it I began sharing my life with you here. From there our world expanded to email exchanges, texts/calls and more. You became family. I love you, I still shed tears at times thinking about you. And I giggle at times remembering things about you.

edits For a game like this to create such powerful bonds is hard to describe. I hope I did it justice.

I know what you mean by personal items that are only specific to you as I have saved certain items that were either gifted to me by my friends who have passed or certain items that remind me of them or a memory we shared, but what I am looking for is something like spoke of .....something visual that can be place in perhaps a tribute pets treasure like the plushie for example or a sticker that can be placed in their collection. The item doesn't necessarily have to mention death/passing so that it may also be used as a gift for someone living that we miss also, if that makes sense at all.

Not dumb at all sweetie!!! However, I highly doubt that Subeta staff will create items that are specific to any one person that has passed. The CW idea is a good one but only because I myself have never created a CW ..... I don't think the artists or creators of such tribute items would be happy if Subeta "took" their ideas and copied them.

That being said I think the idea of a plushie, sticker, and candle would be very fitting as a remembrance. Also perhaps a black rose ....something that like "I Can't Believe You're Gone" Memorial Rose.

I support this! Not sure if it’s been mentioned but I immediately thought of those plushies that have flags with different phrases on them (“thank you”, “congratulations”, etc.). I don’t know if it would be appropriate but maybe something like that with “miss you” as well?
