Looking to meet some fellow cosplayers or those interested in cosplay.

What's been your favourite cosplay you've worn? What's been your hardest build? What are you currently working on?

Personally I do a lot of League of Legends cosplay. Currently trying to decide between Sugar Rush Evelynn or Bewitching Miss Fortune. Luckily my next con isn't until May so plenty of time (at least that's what I tell myself).

[EDIT] As any additional posting in this topic would be over 6 months and thus past the 6 month necro limit, I'm going to go ahead and lock this. If anyone wants to re-make the topic, feel free to do so. [/EDIT]

I'm still very new to all of this but I couldn't choose a favorite out of my 7 completed outfits. As far as hardest would have to be my Will Cipher (because of it being the first time I've ever fully made clothing from scratch).

Currently I have a few projects in various stages of completion:

  • Need a skirt and pants finished for my NightVale OC
  • Need a skirt, vest, tie and patch for my Harry Potter costume
  • Need my friend to help me do my wings for my Reverse Good Omens Crowley (Raphael)

Other than that I have a few more ideas bouncing around my brainmeat but nothing majorly planned

Oh wow, I didn't even know Reverse Falls was a thing, that's so cool! Will looks kind of sweet and adorable. I did a .GIFfany cosplay a few years back which was super fun. Did you pattern the clothes yourself?

Do you go to cons or do cosplay meet-ups? Also, which Harry Potter house?

No, I bought a pattern and made minor adjustments (mostly with the # of buttons lol). It didn't turn out perfect but it works well into the poor abused demon angle lol

My sister took me to my first con last year (going again in march) also wore my NightVale costume to work for halloween (which is why part of it needs replacingsigh)

Sly all the way <3 lol (ignore the fact that I have a Gry pet too...he was a rescue)

Ahh, I've been cosplaying for a few years now. It's so much fun. ^-^ I mostly do it to volunteer with kids and the community though and have been cutting back on the number of cons I go to even though they're super fun. Cons always end up with me crunching and stressing the heck out, so I've just been chilling on new cosplays this past year. It's a lot more fun when I take things in stride on my own time. c:

My favorite cosplay is a toss-up between Jubilee from the X-Men or Vanellope Von Schweetz from Wreck-It Ralph (which I just finished a week ago and don't have any good pics of yet lol)

Hardest build was definitely Rey from Star Wars! This was my first "real" cosplay, and EVERYTHING is completely handmade because I was an ambitious newb. The staff took me so long because I made this cosplay immediately after the movie came out, so I was meticulously analyzing blurry stills from the trailers and people's illegal recordings. lmao

Hey! I've been cosplaying since I was 12, so it's been a while! My first cosplay, Link, was pretty easy since I admittedly only really made one thing (the hat). Since that, I made an Aradia Megido cosplay when I was 13. It still fits me and I have not had to update any of it except the skirt. I think the shirt for that was the hardest since I don't have like any money to spend on cosplay, what with being too young to work at most places (15). I recently finished Jade Harley and finished Pidge Gunderson around a year ago! I still need to learn some more makeup skills so that I can make my face look completely different, ya know? My favorite cosplay is probably Aradia Megido! It's easy to get into and out of since I can't do the body paint yet. I am currently working on Eridan Ampora. If you hadn't realized by now, I'm a filthy Homestuck. It's a smaller community than it used to be. I also need to finish up my Shoto Todoroki cosplay (BNHA) by fixing the jumpsuit so it fits me a bit better.

filthy homestucks unite! I am hilariously old enough to cosplay Grandma Jade these days though. <3 I haven't done any cosplays in ages though. I usually just wear lolita when I go to do something special and fannish.

(Lolita: by the time you can afford it, half the universe thinks you are too old to wear it, but screw that noise...)

I do most of my cosplaying on Subeta nowadays. Today, for instance, post-godtier Iron Lass...

Sewing is definitely one of my weaker points, I hate it so. Your work does halloween? That's pretty cool.

I know the con crunch feeling, why do I always leave it so late. Your Rey looks amazing I also went as her to the premiere but we weren't allowed weapons so no staff. Also your Vanellope is adorable!

My first ever cosplay was Vriska! And my friend went as god tier John! I'm not super great at makeup either but getting better, I watch a lot of tutorials and have stabbed my eye with mascara a fair few times lol

Hell yeah more homestucks! I've been travelling in Japan a little (hence the lack of replies) and wow the Lolita dresses are sooooo pretty. But too expensive for me right now. Maybe when I'm also old enough to be grandma Jade I can afford to rock Lolita dresses.

Well, you can also get Japanese pattern books with directions on how to make them!

Otome no Sewing is the best series.

I do buy brand, but I supplement it with crafted items and items found at other types of stores that suit the aesthetic. Even if I could afford to buy every single piece of a brand release, I prefer to mix things up a bit more.

Favourite is probably my (male) Kanaya or Eridan cosplays from back in in 2013 because I had a lot of fun just swishing my cloak around (I'd multipurposed it to use as the train of Kanaya's waist wrap). Most challenging is a tie between Present Mic (I made a functional speaker prop for him, and working on his wig was a challenge even tho I failed to complete it before the con), WTTM Yuri Plisetsky (the blazer jacket was hard for me to pattern bc I'm not super great with them and I tend to just eyeball and pin to fit when I sew things, and his tank top was surprisingly difficult to put together because of the mesh overlay combined with the cutouts and slashes in it AND it took me two goes to arrange and sew the sequins on the front), and Taako (Big Witch Hat + making an umbrella almost from scratch, I hate myself lol. I also remade my tunic for him twice.)

I don't have any current projects at present, since I've just moved to a new country; my current goal is to save up money bc moving + the unfavourable exchange rate pretty much blew through them entirely. That being said, my next planned projects are remaking Taako (even more over the top, if I can manage that) and putting together Lio Fotia. We'll see how this year goes though!

(I'm too lazy to sift through my socmeds for photos atm sorry :'D You're just going to have to just imagine my disaster cosplays.)

My favorite cosplay I've worn was a Vanellope von Schweetz I did a few years ago - I'll have to see if I can find a photo! I made all the candy hair decorations out of lightweight foam clay, hand-dyed a white hoodie when I couldn't find the color I wanted, and make the striped tights with fabric paint.

For this year, my wife and I are going to try our hands at foam armor crafting - I want to go as Dekar from Lufia II. Favorite character from my favorite game!

AHHHH Cosplayers!!!! <3

I haven't been cosplaying as much last year as I have moved and my state has a low cosplay and con scene. I also have lest time to work on cosplays but.

Favorite cosplay: MILF 76, though I also love my Poison Ivy and Ms. Marvel

SPOILER (click to toggle)

Hardest build was Poison Ivy. But because I sowed on each. individual. leaf. It was exhausting

And currently working on (and have been for YEARS) is Moonstone <3 but now I want to work on STAR

I've been cosplaying since I was 15 (my first cosplay was Hungary from Hetalia); most recently I've been working on Pink Diamond from SU (which is also the most complex build I have attempted) but had to put it on hold because I left it behind when returning home in a hurry for lockdown. My favourite cosplay is probably Roxy Lalonde, which I need to redo but I and the people I met when I wore it loved it

I've been cosplaying for quite a few years, myself. My very first one ever was Fem!Italy from Hetalia. The only thing I really made for that cosplay was the curl, which I made out of pipecleaner and tied to my glasses. Everything else was random parts I bought at the store (i.e. a men's work shirt for the top, ect.)

The first cosplay I did 90% by hand was Mabel Pines from Gravity Falls! I made her sweater out of fleece (which... honestly was a BIG mistake here in Florida), and her skirt out of... I don't even know what kind of fabric, but I know I made it two-layered. I'm kinda glad I did, because at the can I wore it to, the back seem of the skirt ripped. :/

My most recent one, and the one I'm most proud of, was Marth from Fire Emblem/Super Smash Bros. I'm most proud of how his cape turned out, and it was a couple cosplay with my fiancee. We had so much fun at the con together, as Marth and Pit.

Yes hello, I'm the fiancee of the Marth above, haha~

So far my only three cosplays I've ever really done are:

Yoosung from Mystic Messenger Izuku Midoriya from My Hero Academia Pit from Kid Icarus

Apparently I like dressing up as dudes XD

That being said, the one I've really made from scratch is Pit from Kid Icarus and I loved how it turned out! I need to do some tweaks to it, but yeah!

I usually dry to dress up for halloween and then run out of time and have to compromise on costume elements. This year I think I might actually be on track which is ironic cuz idk if I'll be able to go anywhere to show it off... or if I do I'll have to incorporate a mask XD but anyway last year I was punk Darth Vader - I made my makeup more like Sith Anakin and had a Darth Vader mask beanie, black skinny jeans, sweater, and boots, and a black bomber jacket that was a call back to the quilted material in his suite that's under his chest piece. It had to be low key cuz I wore it to class haha. But it was fun.

This year I'm working on a Hera costume. Even if there's nothing to do for Halloween (I mean, I'm in Atlanta, there will be parties but I will not be going to them. Maybe my family will have a little costume party or something) I'll have something for the next DragonCon, which I never think about in time to go to. I have the vest, shirt, flight straps, and boots, and am debating between different orange/yellow jumpsuits on Depop. I found a tutorial for building her head tails out of tights, and I have goggles picked out online. I just need to buy them, and figure out if I want to use headphones, as others have, to build her earcone things. Oh and gloves - I keep forgetting about her gloves.

I've done a bunch of Vocaloid cosplays, some from Odin Sphere, a Rilakkuma cosplay LOL, and more. I'm thinking of doing some Atelier and Dynasty Warriors cosplays at some point. :D
