I just finished my Battle quests with the Three Angry Bears at Level 21. After this Saggitarius appeared and so I left the quests because he is still too strong for my pet. Then I went over Challenge Opponent to fight a bit against Vulty and after I won this fight it still counted at Level 22 to the battle quests and I got 900 Exp for it. I tried it out once more too see if it would do it once more and it did it the second time. Level 23 it said and 900 Exp once more. I left this 1800 exp and did not spent them this time.

For me, regular battles count.as a BQ. I haven't touched the BQs at all today, and when I went to go fight Buttwings with my T2 pet, it counted as a BQ even though I didn't start BQs today. I didn't get the proper loot and I have 250 EXP too many.

I'm finding this too, both on the database.subeta.net and on the main site. Arguably it's an exploit in that you go up BQ levels, but if you want to do non-quest battles then it's a handicap! I struggled my way through a fight with Ice King only to find that it didn't increment my win count or drop any loot, just let me skip the (much easier) fight with Clive that I'd been about to do.

I got challenge by the Ice King so I stopped what I was doing to battle him. After finally getting beyond the lag to win I got:

You Won! You have defeated Ice King

You won a(n) Extremely Hard token to use in the battle shop!

EmberStorm earned 250 EXP Points! Head back to the Battle Quest headquarters to finish up this quest! Because this was level 1 you earned 250 experience!

But like has been said, not doing battle quests.

Just discovered this too. I had to heal up after level 25 so I went to heal up with buttwing, and went back to see level 26 completed. I mean, not complaining, but I don't want to get grumped at for abusing a glitch when all I'm fighting the super easy ones for is to do a quick free heal. Granted, the one I was supposed to fight, Flamagia, I can beat, so NBD. But then on a later level, I also was told to fight one of the super impossible (I don't remember the name, but it was black/purple looking?) and I ended up getting Flamagia for real. Odd.

I also encountered this 2 days ago? I did only one battle, counted as battle quest, and i thought that it may not have reset. before the maintenance, i think i did a few battle quests, and i can't remember if i finished them or not.

In any case, i didn't continue, mostly because i got distracted. Good to know this is a bug so i;ll know not to battle anymore until fixed. I bought 1 speed point thanks to the experience the battle quest gave me. :/

sigh This is still happening.

Could we get confirmation if we're going to have the excess EXP stripped or if we can just use it? Cause while I don't mind the extra EXP, it feels like cheating to do any battling then that isn't the assigned battle quest. , dunno if this is on your radar yet?

Just did the 21 actual resetted battle quests until the gate Keeper appeared. They seemed to be fine. But no battling outside of this. Left some Exp to reduce because of the bug I told in my first posting.

Just tested on an early BQ level, still occuring. , , saw you guys are mods on this forum, any suggestions for who to poke to confirm if we'll be penalized the extra EXP gained from this error?

I've just noticed this problem in reverse, a hard challenger for a low level.

This is still an ongoing issue - every battle is being recorded as a Battle Quest. If you've already completed your BQs for the day, this means no opponent is giving its usual loot, sP, or EXP rewards, instead you receive a BQ item reward and the BQ counter goes up indefinitely. If you haven't completed your BQs, you can complete them by battling any opponent, which means that even the smallest pets can complete all 30 BQs and earn BQ EXP rewards they wouldn't normally be able to. With the latter being easily exploitable either accidentally or intentionally, I wish staff would address this issue.

Also, related, but pointing out cause it feels like a total exploit- I was doing it tonight (I tested skipping to level 15 cause I wanted to see what that button did, and while things are glitchy I consider it the perfect time to play with it), cause I could make up those low level opponents EXP with one extra high level BQ) and then no matter who I fought, once I reached BQ level 30, it kept giving me 3500 EXP for every battle, no matter what opponent or how many times I did it (only did it 3 times, because the second time I assumed I'd misremembered what level it had me on). So consider it an official alert that a related but slightly different variation is happening (Might have been all along, IDK, I wasn't comfortable battling further prior to getting that thumbs up today) ETA-Once I went to the battlequest page again, it switched the count from 29 to 30, and then didn't give any more EXP So solution-Just go to the battlequest page after battle 30 to be on the safe side ETA2: Tested on purpose, figured out the replicable issue. At any level, if you don't go back to the battle quest page, it will continue giving you the EXP for that same level until you go back to the battle quest page. If it registers the 30th quest complete, it stops giving out further EXP. Given the staff OKing continued fighting above. I'm not worrying about it, but just fighting as I feel like it and not going to worry about it. I'm not going to grind a bunch of EXP, tempting as it is, but consider it part of the downtime bonuses. ;))

It looks like battling is being fixed right now! Thank you! The win counts at the end of the battle seem to be messed up though, and not matching our battle statistics page.

[edit]It appears our number of losses is being counted as the number of wins.

It’s not entirely that loss counts are reversed as wins. The biggest problem is that loot and experience were reset to a random win number. This means that if your reset was below 5, you can get the fifth win loot again. Not only that, but BQ wins are showing as losses again. I have never fought Crawbeast outside or BQs but my stats page shows I have 7 losses against him.

Battling is just so broken now that I have zero motivation to do anything on Subeta.
