Some items in the Atebus Shop which must be meant for tourists. Imagine moving from Earth to Subeta and then taking a holiday on Atebus. You explore the upper level of Ziara with its fascinating steam technology and then the lower level with its advanced computing etc etc. You then go home with souvenirs from the tourist shop - a lead corset, a pair of lead panties and a t-shirt relating to an old TV show you watched when you lived on Earth. :D

Very first apparel item I got...planned a whole outfit around it. I mean. What else was I expected to do with this? I really can't imagine any other intended use. (Which is hilarious given the example provided in the "no r00d items" rule for customs.)

I've never understood this item. Appearance-wise, it makes no sense. Is it a pea with a crown? What are the spots? Are those eyes? Is it the head of a decapitated caterpillar? With an ill-fitting crown, for some reason? Is it an alien? The description is vaguely dirty (I mean, that's not just me, right?) and why is it named Edward? Is that a Twilight reference? Ew. Why is there a whole achievement for purchasing one from the Crystal Shop? ???????????

speaking of which, i've always found these staff OCs odd and amusing since they were made before there was much in the way of subeta lore and things were much more... "early 2000s edgy teen"

I'm thinking the Edward may be another part of the early 2000s weirdness, when being rAndoM on the internet was the cool thing. It could be some sort of inside joke like that, but I honestly have no idea. When was it even first released?

i always saw Thimble & Co as a general hobby shop, not just arts and crafts. olde tymey barber shop stuff seems to fit that way. maybe it's used as props for performances of barbershop quartets? like some of the contestants from the peka boo event.

as for Ziara: The Bubbled City, i always think anything starting with "once upon a time..." is probably just a fairy tale/ folk lore story. local legends, tall tales kind of thing, like paul bunyan creating death valley and the great lakes. - "our city has a bubble because WITCHES"
