I noticed a distinct lack of forum points earned from the group forum posts. I did a bit of testing, then submitted a ticket to ask if we still get FPs from groups. Basically the answer is no.

For those working on forum post achievements, and earning stars, those still count in groups, so its just the Forum Points themselves that are a problem.

I'm thinking of making a feedback topic, but I'm a little uncertain what to say. I know why I'm upset about it, but those aren't necessarily reasons that would move the staff.

Why are these forum posts considered any different to any other post? When posting in the main forums should you post too many times you are classified as spamming which means you are limited to the amount of times you can respond to a said forum topic which again brings us back to limited chances for FP's. Then there is the point that most of the forum topics aren't things we have anything to 'input' in to them any ways and there is also the case like for many of us we just aren't comfortable posting in the main threads for a whole bunch of personal reasons -points finger to now non member who use to stalk my every post just to be little me for it!-

If these/our forum topics are being prevented from us earning FP it (to me) verges on a form of bias which should definitely be against all rules of common law and Subeta. If Subeta is concerned with abuse of the FP points either eliminate it all together (which wouldn't be a bad thing) or set up some form of guidelines and implement them for EVERYONE, and more importantly don't just stop things without letting consumers know! I mean we are consumers, we pay cash (most of us at some point do) so we have an investment into how things run and affect us on the site.

I'm in a rush today so haven't re-read this to see if I've structured it in a cohesive manner, I hope I've made some sort of sense in what I wanted to vent!

Eh, well, I guess they want to try to encourage discussion in the public forums to keep them active with the lure of sweet, sweet forum tickets. Still disappointing to see though.

They mean posts in the main forum section, so like under HAs, pets, general, etc.

Any post made in a forum group like this counts toward your post total, but not toward getting a FP because its in a group.

Which is total BS; FP are handed out so sparingly imo that its hard enough to scrape together 5, let alone enough to afford anything heavy in the Forum shop without working hard toward it or relying on the Bathhouse (So the Bath House is allowed to give them out but you can't get them posting in groups?)

Anyway, I think that this is not the best decision and the change should have been announced to the users.

thank you for letting us know. I was wondering why I stopped getting FPs. Really disappointed to hear that! This group and another I post in are so much more active than the main forums, and there is more familiarity between the users within groups so someone like me is more comfortable posting. I wonder if holiday forums count as 'main forums' or not in this case? Like I said in another thread, I feel like this all started when the forum boxes were being given out at Masq.

I think we might see actual spams in the main forums if the news got spreaded. And why they didn't state this in the news im confused.

Yes I'm pretty sure the event forums count. Before submitting the ticket I talked to a few people and some said specifically that they got FPs when posting in the vesnali forum.

There definitely wasn't an announcement about it. Nothing in news, or siteupdate or tinyupdate or weekly sprint.

I too think they should have told us. Its a big enough change to been mentioned, especially when they were talking about reviving the forums and asking for our input.

problem is they really aren't listening to us about what would improve forum communication. Removing FP earning in groups will not fix those problems or literally do a damn thing to increase conversation and forum use. I mean, sure there will likely be more posting in user run games and the games forum where people post their game/quest results. But that's not conversation and won't liven the forums. Just more of what's already happening.

I feel, as someone else mentioned, that it happened around the time of masq and the great forum box "kerfuffle"

if anyone makes a post in the feedback forum please link it cause I'd be glad to lend my support but dont have the energy to compose good messages to staff atm. This thing makes me super upset though, like if you dont want people posting in groups then dont let groups form in the first place tbh

Thank you for the update! I'll post my support of FP if someone makes a thread as well. It would have been nice to at least be updated on this, but I think it's a poor change. It doesn't make me want to post in the main forums more, if that was their goal.

I do want to make a proper feedback post, but I'm too annoyed right now. I just want to yell, and that's not good feedback. There are several points made here are helping me figure out exactly what to say, but I'm not there yet. Not sure when I will be.
