Since it's already three months to Neugarten (three months!? Jeez, time passes by quickly, for sure!), I've decided to create this thread for any suggestions concerning this holiday. I'm writing it on the main Suggestions forum as it encompasses not only food items, but also books, clothing, stickers, plushies, beanbags, etc.

Clothing: Pure cotton dress

Food: Buddha Bowls Golden Milk

Beanbags: Buddha Bowl Beanbag

Plushies: Buddha Bowl Plushie

Well, I know these suggestions may seem poor and scarce, but I'd like to give way to other users' contributions for Neugarten. Any suggestions are welcome! :)

I want to see a Renaissance Festival! Please, please, please!

As for items, sadly I have nothing to suggest right now.

First off, hell yes on the Renaissance fair idea

Since we don't know entirely what direction they are going with Neugarten let me suggest some general summer items subeta is still missing.

Outdoor grills and other outdoor stuff: -we have a charcoal grill but no gas or electric grills -Other grilling stuff like: unused metal or wooden skewers, BBQ pizza stones, tin foil, bbq drip trays -summer themed napkins and paper plates -garden furniture : stackable chairs, plastic outdoor tables, picknick tables, garden parasols or canopies -trays to make your own popsicles, funny icecube trays -Portable cooler boxes -books with grill recipes and books with popsicle recipes -Aloe gel for sunburns -unfilled water balloons, maybe a bucket filled with full water balloons. -Yard toys: trampolines, plastic garden slides, swingsets/tree swings, Treehouses

Some relevant bbq and frozen foods -cheeses that can be grilled on a bbq without melting: Halloumi, Kefalotyri, Queso panela, Provolone, Paneer -raw burger patty's: beef, pork, veggie -hot dog and slider buns -boozy popsicles in flavors like: sangria, Mojito, pina colada or any flavor Daiquiri -frozen fruit and fruit mixes for smoothies

For clothes: -More knee length or mid calf length leggings either in Plain colors or patterns. -wet t-shirts -Beach towel ground items -handheld water bottles and popsicles -road trip themed backdrops like empty highways or wearables that are a car the HA is standing in front.

Additionally, here's some old threads that have good ideas that are nice for either old allergarten or summer in general:

More hiking/outdoorsy stuff More Wearable Birds Silly sunglasses Fruit Purses Whining For Wine Skating, cycling, and safety gear! bicyles maybe~? Bathing / swim suits?

Since Neugarten has been vegan-y maybe some moon milks made with nut milks instead of dairy milk?

I'm hoping for something different this year. Neugarten was, above everything else, kinda dull. There's were lots of suggestions around last year as to how it could be expanded or how Alegarten could have been transformed.

I went through all the Neugarten feedback so you don't have to

this could be a festival catered to alternative eating as a whole. That would give you a LOT of other options to work with, like diets that cater to specific allergies or diseases, other ethical diets, health diets, people who hunt/fish/farm their own food, and even foods specific to other cultures or countries to expand on the original alegarten theme.

Quote
I would love to add my support for the event moving to a more &;sustainable eating/living&; theme. I&;d have loved to see the gardens get some use in a &;grow your own&; type deal. Focus on supporting local farmers. Get the recycling beast involved somehow. Maybe bring in something to do with habitat management or wildlife surveys for endangered species. Plant flowers for bees. Build insect hotels and bird boxes. Idk. It&;d be a nice thing to celebrate.

Quote
I agree with the other suggestions that it could have been about broader dietary/lifestyle themes (and the numerous reasons why people adopt them) with extra sustainability/eco-friendly aspects. We could have had clothing made from different fibres or recycled material or upcycled stuff, rather than generic T-shirts. Something altogether more inclusive and community minded.

Quote
I really wish this event was more about sustainable, farmers markets, nature, good food choices, cleaner diets, etc etc instead of just veganism. If this was about cleaner eating, cleaner living, and shedding light on the growing number of dietary restrictions in our current era it wouldn&;t have felt so "vegans verses the world".

Quote
If next year is still going to promote alternative eating, I&;d like to see it branch out. I&;m surprised how few vegetarian NPCs we have in relation to vegan. So some vegetarian foods would be nice. I&;m sure there&;s a lot of other diets to draw from too: paleo, keto, kosher.

Quote
I, too, think a sustainability festival would have been a much better idea and would have been more inclusive to all players on the site, as well as have been more educational and informative of the plights the world faces. The food trucks, local farmer stands, items made from recycled products, etc. would have been good storefronts, and I think a game similar to Birdwatching where we collected pieces of trash around the site and traded it in would have been nice. The vegan/vegetarian items could still have been included (if they didn&;t already have a year round shop which I still think is a better idea), but the entire event wouldn&;t have been exclusive to that lifestyle. I think this would have opened up more options for non-food items as well

Quote
I love both suggestions about sustainability and also medieval festival. Why not combine these two topics: a festival celebrating old, much more sustainable ways of producing things? Like a craft market? It could also be combined with new methods of sustainability of course, but a combination would somehow hold a much larger potential of items/themes.

Quote
I&;m going to miss the wears in particular; there&;s nowhere else putting out the same kind of old traditional/quasi-fantasy wears. I get that there are limitations to the Germanic stuff, but I&;d rather have seen the concept expanded rather than completely transformed... turning Alegarten into a summer fair would have been lovely. Local produce (homemade sweets, sloe gin, elderflower wine, jams and preserves, extremely alcoholic spirits made with leftover fruit), traditional clothing, music, dancing, handicrafts, wonky vegetable competitions etc. Maybe even expand it out into a Subea-wide cultural/folk festival (maybe with a different group getting precedence each year and rotating through, but the other lands/people still having a noticeable presence to still emphasis the message of unity). It could have been an opportunity for more world-building.

Quote
I wasn&;t that fond of Alegarten in its original form, but it brought with it a set of items and wearables that otherwise didn&;t really get much on this site. The wearables especially were nice, in my opinion,a lot of them had an almost fantasy-like, medieval feel to them.

Quote
Personally, I would have preferred to have Alegarten to have been rebranded to more of a Renaissance/medieval fair sort of thing.

Quote
the idea of a renaissance fair alternative to Alegarten that&;s been brought up - it&;s still different from the original brewery/Oktoberfest theme, but it keeps the visual theme the event (especially the wearables), which otherwise doesn&;t really have a substitute. In my opinion, it&;d also work as an extension of the German-influenced theme, since renaissance fairs are also held in Germany (though they&;re known by the term Mittelalterfest there)

Quote
i feel like alegarten would have more naturally transformed into a hobbit festival....

Two quite clear themes emerge: health, alternative diets, and sustainability vs. cultural and folksy with a hint of medieval. Either of the two are fine by me (but I do have a preference towards the hobbits...).

Alegarten was pretty much always a purchase-everything kind of holiday, so I don't really expect much in the way of new content for it. There's another holiday here like this, Keelhauliday, and then Skitters used to be the only shop. These were all intended to be seasonal replacements for the general Holiday Shop. I don't really think all of Subeta's holidays need to be equally super-exciting, and I for one pretty much only pay attention to Keelhauliday for the Achievements since I'm an Islander through and through.

Sustainable farmers markets are pretty much a Fireside thing. There's even a farmer's market with Autumn Dragons on it that was created for just that idea.

I think with the vegan-direction of Neugarten a sustainability fair type direction is perfect. How about just making it one of those (modern) hippie/travel/outdoors/sustainability festivals (I like the threads that mentioned). Maybe something similar to Burning Man? (LOOL).

Reusable versions of items such as these (apologies for so many links from that store, it's a local one and it has everything!): Coffee Cups Metal/bamboo straws and cutlery Beeswax wraps, although we don't even have foil or plastic wrap on the site Cotton string bags - for groceries (would be a great wearable Metal tiffins for food storage Re-usable water bottles (also good for Stay Outside) Bamboo toothbrush Empty glass mason jars, bottles, etc Silk tooth floss (in a glass tube)

I also like the idea of making them items on Subeta cos then it would make people used to seeing them and maybe they'd be interested in buying them IRL.

Basically ALL the bamboo things. Also, a bamboo item shop could work for Shengui Guo. :D

The event for me always felt like a weird summer oktoberfest....which never made complete sense to me but I understand why they need an event during the summer time. I personally would love for it to lean into a folk festive, or a ren fair and bring back peka boo (I really only say this because I missed it when it came out...rip)

I would also love some closer on the events that took place last year...... gunter has been sitting at SAI HQ for almost a year now, and he's still not talking.

I second all of the sustainable ren/craft fair stuff, and I love that quote Dice dug up about users planting flowers and upcycling trash floaters and building insect hotels.

Since the date for Neugarten is just "summer," I was thinking maybe the holiday could center on the solstice. (I'm a sucker for astronomy. Also, I wish we celebrated Midsummer's Eve IRL. It'd be like a mini Christmas, but with more fresh produce and better weather.)

((And a trial mini plot would be EXCELLENT, much excite))

I like the idea of making Neugarten a mixture of vegan festivals & renaissance fairs. I'm not a fan of so many people thinking veganism is a diet so I don't like the idea of adding nonvegan foods to the shop.

I like the idea of clothes and items made from bamboo, hemp, and recycled materials. The Recycle Beast being involved would be cute!

Some specific food ideas I have: -Brown rice syrup -Apple "honey" -Textured vegetable protein (tvp) -Seitan -Nice cream -Smoothie bowls -Quinoa -Kale chips -Ricemallow fluff
