Hi, I was thinking about the way we abandon pets now, and how we could possibly change up the penalties for transfer/abandoning of pets, specifically with regards to their battle stats.

Currently, this is how the system works. If you abandon a pet to the [b]pound[b], the person who adopts it can battle with it immediately. However, if the pet you abandon has more than 2000 in one stat, it will lose 10% of its stats.

If you transfer a pet through the [b]pet transfer system[b], the person who adopts it must wait 30 days before they can battle with it AND if the pet you are transferring has more than 2000 in one stat, it will lose 10% of its stats.

The reason why this was implemented was because some battlers would pass around their high statted pets during plots to earn multiple high valued loot items on multiple accounts. The BAs and did not like this, so to discourage people from trying to game the system by earning a lot of loot, they have created these restrictions.

But theres a wrinkle here... why does the pet transfer option force you to wait AND force you to lose stats? Surely one of these deterrents would be enough for this issue that was trying to prevent? Plots are time limited, so the forced wait of 30 days is enough to prevent loot farming. Therefore I propose that:

• the pet transfer option forces the new owner to wait 30 days but does not affect stats
• the pound option forces the new owner to lose 10% of stats (if any individual stat is over 2000), but allows for battling on that same day

This way, owners of pets who are leaving the site can send their pets over to their friends and rehome them. Battle pets are a huge time/money investment, and its a slap in the face to an owner who is leaving the site to remove a large chunk of stats just because they want to see their pet go to a good home.

TL;dr let us transfer pets without nerfing our stats pls, it makes no sense, we already have to wait 30 days

Seems like a good idea to me. Like you said, most plots aren't 30+ days long, so the waiting time would prevent people well enough from transferring battle pets to help friends during plot battles and stuff.

This is a good idea - there's no need to have a double penalty for one of the methods. I think this is a good compromise/solution while still being a deterrent for the original problem.

I Agree with this! the double penalty really isn't fair.

I was part of the group that got this implemented in the first place. And there is a slight difference in the history of it. We actually filed tickets pointing out the exploit and confirmed that they were ok with what we were doing. So we ramped up what we did with the transfers.

We actually pound transferred for all of our hand offs to avoid the timer penalty, it’s really not that hard to do.

If there is only the timer penalty, we would probably transfer pets at the end of survival, and then once every other month.

I have actually been thinking about transferring my capped pet 2x to get the loot from someone who will likely never battle and then transferring back to use more cheap tomes for intelligent / stat remodeling without the hassle of using thousands of leeches leeches
