Okay, so here we go! First of all, the judges found the majority of your RPs to be excellent and entertaining, and awarded all of the teams the full 1000 points, except Reaver who scored 500 for a partial, and Squirrel Tales, who didn't submit, and so gained no points for this section.
Now, as to the puzzles, each team was only required to solve one, and most of you chose to figure out Anne's age, which was 24 or 24.5 (Jahmie is 3 or 3.5). If you need further explanation, Organized Chaos has it broken down in their RP.
It was the "guilty courtlady" which threw a lot of you for a loop, as the correct answer was Barbe. This was a "what solution fits and is possible" type of logic puzzle, and the best explanation for this was given by team Steve:
<p>Elleyne says that Mareet accuses her and also that it&;s because Mareet is mad that Elleyne stole her boyfriend. Since there is absolutely no way to determine if Elleyne did steal Mareet&;s boyfriend, or even if she did whether that is why Mareet is accusing her, there is actually no way whatever to determine whether Elleyne&;s statement is true or false in it&;s entirety. So, for puzzle purposes, I assume that Elleyne&;s statement is simply "Mareet says it&;s me." which is always TRUE. The second half of Elleyne&;s statement is just there to provide "color".</p>
<p>Similarly, there is no way to tell about the second half of Mareet&;s statement ("She steals anything!) so I assume, for the puzzle that Mareet simply says "Don&;t be fooled, Elleyne did it."</p>
<p>And we can&;t tell anything at all about how true Barbe&;s statement is, so for puzzle purposes, I assume she just says "Alyse didn&;t do it".</p>
<p>The same for Bianca&;s statement, so for the puzzle I assume she&;s just saying "Barbe didn&;t do it."</p>
<p>The same for Alyse&;s statement, so for the puzzle I assume she&;s just saying "I didn&;t take the necklace."</p>
<p>Given all those assumptions, then we have five possibilities.</p>
<ol>
<li>If Elleyne took the necklace, then her statement is FALSE and all the others are TRUE, so only one FALSE statement, therefore NOT the solution.</li>
<li>If Alyse took the necklace,, then Alyse, Barbe and Mareet&;s statements are all FALSE (and Bianca&;s statement can also be FALSE). More than two FALSE statements, so NOT the solution.</li>
<li>If Mareet took the necklace, then her statement is FALSE and all the others are TRUE so NOT the solution.</li>
<li>If Bianca took the necklace, then only Mareet&;s statement is FALSE, so NOT the solution.</li>
<li>If Barbe took the necklace, then Mareet and Bianca&;s statements are FALSE and the other three statements are TRUE. Since this is the only culprit that matches the puzzle solution requirement, Barbe stole the necklace.</li>
</ol>
<p>SOLUTION - Barbe stole the necklace.
All teams had the correct answer to one of the two puzzles, so all will be awarded the 500 points, with the exception of Squirrel Tales, who has a slight error in math and therefore have 400.
The passcode to the bottom was "Swap Ships," or "Switch Ships" or any form of that, which all teams except two figured out. So that adds another 250.
Finally, there was an "Easter Egg" (hidden bonus) in this chapter, and was given in clues from Sir Wall and the Chapter Title itself. This was the references to a "Leap of Faith." However, while most of you figured out elaborate descents, only the Jalapenos were brave enough to simply hold hands and jump. This was muted a bit by the parachute appearing, but nonetheless, the judges were impressed that anyone caught it, so an extra 250 to the Jalapenos.
This leaves scores for this chapter at:
Jalapenos: 2000 Leviathans: 1900 Organized Chaos: 1800 Fallen Angels, Galactic Thylacines, Steve, Traveler: 1750 Reaver: 1000 Squirrel Tales: 400

To get a score like that, we know it had to be half you being smart, and half us accidentally doing the right thing. woo!
This scoring generated a couple of appeals, both of which the judges have chosen to grant, with the following caveats.
<p>Leviathans: Plus 150 for the mention of the "leap of faith" by Lyra, who shoved in a teammate and jumped herself. However, this was not a coordinated effort and making the leap was never really discussed. Instead, there was a quantity of pets pitched over the side as experiments and quite a bit of the team&;s "innate abilities" that make this team as a unit very close to the "god-playing" line. Only Lyra actually seemed to get the hidden bonus.</p>
<p>We do not intend to be difficult, and it&;s entirely possible for us to miss a detail with long and excellent RPs to read, so never be afraid to complain. However, ask yourselves when you do if you truly met the criteria, and to what extent. There will be more hidden bonuses ahead.
Due to these decisions, I have adjusted the scores in my post above.

We thought it was false. But I guess it wouldn't have taken much faith if we knew we were striking gold? :P
If this challenge showed anything, it proved I, and nearly all my judges, are huge nerds and lovers of SF/Fantasy! I have read virtually all of the works you chose to cosplay (gave up on the Green Rider series after the author introduced an adorable dog simply for the plot device of killing him within minutes in order to invoke a response. It's a cheap trick in my opinion, so no more for me. I also don't like vampire or zombie fiction much, so I admit to not finishing those.)
Anyway, there were no surprises, which made the judging easier and harder at the same time. In the end, they did manage to pick their "Top Ten," and each of those entries got 500 extra points for their teams. If you chose to participate, your team got 1000 points.
Judges comments are below each finalist below. They are presented in order of submission:
- Alice in Wonderland by {Considering the limitations of "only items on site," this was one of the best classic Alice cosplays we've seen, Detail touches were stellar!)
- Cujo by (Horror is a difficult cosplay without lots of fake blood, but this kept it controlled. Rowan assures us it is nearly impossible to dress oneself as a canine, we think this evokes the character well.)
- Elena by (Even more difficult than horror is dystopian fiction, since the characters are simply dressed and it takes careful planning to bring pieces, often including "grunge," into a unified whole. This one nailed it.)
- The Cat in the Hat by (This was a harder portrayal than Alice, since it is an animal, but it was done so well that it is instantly recognizable and has the same "panache" as the Cat himself.)
- Karigan G'ladheon by (Just really an excellent representation that captures the period, the character, and yet doesn't fall into the trap of overdoing it.)
- Ranger Sergeant Kartr by (Another deceptively simple character that is tricky to render, right down to the two-toned hair. Even the backdrop worked perfectly for this one, and was essential!)
- Kahlan Amnell/ Mother Confessor by (An iconic character in a much-loved series, which provides a greater challenge, since everyone has an image in mind. This one was a bit too young for us, but the layering on of the whites more than made up for it.)
- Loki by (Another immortal --literally--character imprinted on minds by a marvelous interpretation of the actor in the recent films. Evoking Bifröst finished the cosplay beautifully.)
- Drizzt Do'Urden by (This one was the epitome of perfect detail, from the webs in the background to the perfect choice of companion. We loved this Drow!)
- The Little Prince by (Perfect. This literally leapt off the pages to stand in front of us. Now, we have a lingering question. Why isn't the wearable?

Oh, I'm very happy that my cosplay was well-received! It's a character and book that's very close to my heart, to be able to represent that well enough for a nod from the judges is a great start to the weekend. :D
