HAHAHAHAAA , who are you kidding? you are ALWAYS looking for a hill. (or clif) :D
The problem is: she always finds one!
LOL (well. she IS the LoveCRAFT) :D is there's not one around, I think she "crafts" one :D :D :D
I was going to TELL you where Tea was because she was slacking. But she suddenly appeared so guess that won't work.
At last, scores for Chapter 6. The judges decided to split the 1000 points for the destination into two parts with 500 each, since some teams got the method of travel right but the destination wrong. Everyone did the entire 2000 for the music, and you all seemed to have liked this challenge! (Note to self: do more like this!)
This leaves the final scores:
3000 for everything right: Galactic Thylacines Fallen Angels Leviathans Organized Chaos Steve
2500--Half right on method and/or destination: Squirrel Tales Traveler
2000--No method or destination: Jalapenos Reaver
I'm sure , who is overworked and unpaid :D, will get these included as soon as she can, but not before she eats, sleeps, and takes a long soak in bubbles! (That's an order! <3)
PS The Thylacines submitted a request for a score adjustment in Chap. 4. Normally, the judges wouldn't have granted this, but they have a brand new first-time player who has valiantly persevered to learn to "live in the Squirrel," so they are allowing 125 points (half) for the bonus.
Congrats teams! flailing of pom poms commences

.. congratulations on all the hard work!
hahahaaa all that discussion, and we forgot to include what we finally decided. :D ah well. lol I think we're all still at the bar.
:D
I may be playing be playing devils advocate or unpopular opinion puffin here, but if a team gains points for having a newbie, shouldn’t that mean that all teams with newbies gain ‘bonus’ points? And even then, I think it sounds a bit ridiculous that a team can gain points for having new-to-WS members.
The more I thought about too, every team has a ‘newbie’ in some way, shape, or form don’t they? I can’t imagine that every team has someone from the very beginning, and even then research would still have to have been had. Every team put in the work and the effort to solve the puzzle and feels as though the work has been a waste when a team can claim ‘newbie’.
I hope this doesn’t come off as rude or angry. I’m just extremely baffled and confused at the decision that was made.
Congrats all! Arrrrr Mateys! We must be doing something right!!!

- I'm the newbie. I had correctly guessed the bonus for 250 but I had posted my guess to the thread because I didn't actually know that it was worth points! I thought everything that was worth points would be posted to the official thread.
So it wasn't correctly submitted, but it was documentably submitted within the time limit, and when I found out that there was a bonus, but we didn't get it, I asked Truffula to find out why we didn't get it.
I did, in fact, correctly guess what we were supposed to guess. We didn't get the points just for having a newbie. We got them because the newbie screwed up submitting an answer so it missed being recorded.
- I can't tell you how much I appreciated being told IC that there was an archive of music from everywhere available for us to research. She is a researcher, so it was easy for her to find out the information--I didn't have to figure out how Dhareissa Verenke knew so many song titles from 20th-21st century Earth when she's living 3 centuries after that on a planet in the totally wrong end of the galaxy, and wouldn't know anyone who would know them except for Stanford Pines, who is a professor at the university she came from, and isn't someone she talks about popular music with.
The cosplay one would have been easier if there'd been a handwave like that--like, each of us was given a selection of books or "randomly chosen" book to read/report on/cosplay, and it just happened that the player's favourite book was dropped in the character's lap or coincidentally available on the shelf we had been told to choose from :)
Handwaves like that are deeply, truly appreciated by us hardcore IC roleplayers who type in English because we're doing the typing--our characters don't post on message boards, or if they do it's not this one :) :)

crystal clear now! Thank-you!
Jalapenos have been bonking out lately. Boo us!! Must all be well and sane soon.
- I originally signed on with Steve as probably a reluctant due to real life potential time constraints, but it turns out I've been able to actually be a full participant (yay!), so, I don't know that it actually matters, but I was wondering whether (with the consent of of course) it would be possible to be listed as just a regular Steve member. I've already checked with who said go ahead and ask. No problem if it can't be done or is too late to make that change. I am really enjoying this library adventure! Books and libraries are so wonderful.
The quality of the RPs submitted for Chapter 8 is really high, so the judges are still deep in scoring and debate, So, in the meantime, I am going to post the Chapter 7 scores. The hidden bonus for this chapter was to accuse the tribe who really betrayed the Singari based on evidence. Four teams picked up on this and all accused correctly. That so-called water was actually vodka and, combined with the boar tooth, definitely pointed out the Toka clan. They are dealing with the betrayers themselves, which is too bad for them, as the Tokas are famous for harsh punishments.
As for the logic puzzle itself, everyone who submitted a solution got it right. The destination and travel method, which was Wolfenhague/Brass Coil/Crystania via the automaton lady on the balcony, proved harder and some teams got partial credit or couldn't solve it at all. Two teams did not submit for this chapter, Jalapenos and Squirrel Tales.
Scores are as follows; 2250=includes bonus Leviathans Organized Chaos Steve Thylacines
2000 Fallen Angels
1750 Traveler
1500 Reaver
Great job, everyone!!
