I propose that old Cash Shop battle challengers be "brought back" on a monthly basis, similar to how all old Donation Present & Collections are brought back. (So, they'd retire again at the end of the month.)

Looking back, 2013 and 2015-2017 all had monthly challenger releases, while 2014 had seasonal challenger releases. (The monthly trend continues through 2018.) If you missed them that month, then your only chance to purchase would be the next year's Black Friday Sale. (So, 2018 challengers won't be back for Black Friday until 2019.) And during said sale, the prices for each challenger aren't even discounted.

So instead of waiting until Black Friday to do a mass release, I propose a monthly un-retiring. It's a win-win-win. This is beneficial to the folks who were unable to purchase when they came out (whether it was due to lack of funds, not knowing they'd be an eventual battler, or anything like that), and also beneficial to the site in order to bring in more money!

(Consider this- I only own 3 of the old CS challengers, which leaves me with 58 others to potentially collect. To buy the rest during Black Friday would be 13,250 CSC. ... That purchase is unlikely to happen... But on a monthly basis? That's only 1250-1750 CSC. That's a purchase amount that's much more reasonable. (That's 4 old years, at 250. The current month release, at 250. And the occasional 2014 seasonal release, at 500.)

For a full list of the old CS challengers, take a look here: [Discontinued] Complete List of Unlockable Challengers But as an example, here would be the re-releases for April and May:

I'd like that. I have very few CS challengers cause I'm not a longtime player and in the first year, I didn't really think battling is for me. Now I'm T11 ;) I wouldn't even mind if the loot was limited, just let me get that extra EXP. And spreading the purchases over whole year is certainly easier for my pockets than trying to get everything that's in Cash Shop at once on BF.

I don't see this happening.

They already have achievements in place for the older loot items- and that was done for the battle reset a few months back to limit the flow of loot into the economy. So I think that's likely enough "protection" to the values.

But I also see limiting the loot as entirely unfair to the people willing/able to spend 250 CSC. Especially since the loot wasn't altered during past Black Friday sales.

All in all, I still don't see a downside for this. Since it's not putting anything on a discount, or giving a leg up to anyone. It's just increasing ease of access and enjoyment for users, while also bringing in money for the site that they might've not seen.

I would be okay with this, since it would still be costing the same amount of CSC in the end, just spread out over more time instead of all at once during Black Friday. You're not really getting any sort of advantage or discount or anything.

Like you said, we already do this with the monthly collections, so why not the battle challengers too (especially since there are a lot more of them now)?

Full support :) Since CS challengers don't get discounted on Black Friday anyway, it makes perfect sense to rerelease them throughout the year.

I just learned that this forum group existed, so paging for feedback on this.

No discounts or anything- just bring back the older CS challengers by month. Don't wait until a mass release during Black Friday.

(Also, I guess this thread should be moved to the Cash Shop suggestion area rather than Items.)

this would be nice. part of me is kind of regretting not buying the mash tun to keep in my wardrobe, and the next chance i have to buy it is............... next november 😬

at the very least, this year's challengers should come back this november. i've never understood why they're excluded; they're not discounted so it's like. why not bring them back. it's... just more sales???

I support this SO HARD. I buy all of them anyway because I'm nuts or something, and there were a couple of early ones I missed which will drive me more nuts forever.

also it'd make my life easier because I wouldn't necessarily have to buy every single one when it comes out. although I probably still will.

I think it's fair enough for them to be rereleased during Black Friday.

Full support for this - I think there are enough years of CS challengers for this to make sense now, when perhaps it didn't before.

The ones that were seasonal could be available for multiple months (like they were originally) instead of just one.

Full support! I was a late bloomer with battling and I've slowly been buying up the old challengers during Black Friday sales, but there are so many (and all the other CS items too) to buy within a few days I've had to limit my purchases to a select few each year.

I disagree with this suggestion. Releasing them again on a monthly basis would be greatly unfair to the battlers who have been faithfully purchasing the challengers each month. Having them become available during the Black Friday sale is more than adequately fair.

We’ve really only had maybe 3-4 years worth of CS challengers released, which really isn’t extensive enough to justify them being largely available in the same manner as donation presents. Monthly collections and donation presents have been around roughly as long as this site, and come with extensive options.

I'm not sure I understand your point - how does it become unfair to people who purchased them when they were released to have them re-released?

I like the idea because yay more battle challengers, but I don't see this happening. Staff already release a new CS challenger every month, a new friendly Thursday challenger every month and bring back old CS challengers during black Friday

They've been releasing CSC challengers like this since 2013, so we're now into the 6th year. At this point, I would say it's kind of a lot to wait for all at once during Black Friday if you're missing a bunch of the challengers.

I also don't really see how it's unfair. They would only be brought back during the month that they were initially available, like the monthly collections. So for example, if you forgot to buy one during April you would still have to wait until the next April to get it again (or buy it from another user). So there would still be waiting involved for people who don't buy them when they're available.

And these items aren't discounted during the Black Friday sale anyway, so users would be spending the same amount of CSC whether they buy them when they're initially released or wait to buy them the next year.

I like this idea, from what I remember they don't discount the cost of the CS challenger items anyway so support from me.
