What's your favorite genre of music? What's a song you haven't been able to get out of your head recently? What band/artist have you only just discovered? Favorite band/artist of all time?

I like anything that isn't heavy metal or rap really. I was (and let's admit it) still am a fan of the Backstreet Boys. I love Keith Urban and Tim McGraw...and many other country artists. I also love most soundtracks from musicals as well.
Probably filk. There's some cool stuff out there.
I recently discovered Eurielle and absolutely fell in love with her music, it tends to be kind of beautifully haunting and feels like something that should be in a Lord of The Rings film
My most listened to on Spotify this year was not surprising. Mostly disney music, galavant soundtrack, crazy ex girlfriend soundtrack, hamilton sound track, and a lot of instrumental music (film scores, tchaikovsky, etc).
As far as instrumental goes, I've been listening to Tina Guo a lot lately. Her Game On! Album is fantastic to code to haha.
I really love most music, except country. Also vaporwave gives me anxiety for some reason lol. I guess you could say my preferred genre is more indie music but I also love musicals and classical music really helps me relax and concentrate
Hmm, I'm not entirely sure what genre is my favorite, or even what genre most of the music I enjoy falls into. I just posted this on a different thread, but I'm enjoying Russ's slower music right now. I enjoy Odesza, Childish Gambino, and Milky Chance. I found most of my music via plugging these into my Pandora station. Other times, I just play up-beat Spanish music. c:
Capsize by FRENSHIP (feat. Emily Warren) was my favorite song for quite a while. I played that song on repeat!
I was really just looking for a musicbased topic! Is there something about lumi-music, too?
I really like about anything, tho the girls have the bottomside since I don't usually stand female leadsingers. I don'tknow what it is, it's genre-wide.
I listen to a little of everything... but my fav things are 80s pop, and symphomic/opera metal. Talk about two completely polar opposite genres!
If you want to give symphonic metal a whirl, try listening to the songs Tender Trip on Earth or A Sequel of Decay... both are by Tristania.
One of my all-time favorite songs is Maroon 5's Payphone. Adam's voice is so sexy in that song!
[Kiss=Leila], available for a limited time this holiday season.
I've had the christmas can-can by straight no chaser stuck in my head for the last few days

i love EDM so much hhhhh, i love Pegboard Nerds and Hyper Potions and Tristam and Snail's House!!!! ;-;

People oft think my taste in music is weird. I like to call it "eclectic". I don't usually like the sound of the human voice - lots of people think they have the skill to sing merely because they have the ability to do so. And I'm picky about words used and then again on messages conveyed...so it's easier just to not have to listen to voices at all.
That said I really enjoy soundtracks anyway and collect them, usually from videogames, sometimes movies or other sources (like the Homestuck albums which are for/based on a webcomic). People say MIDIs are horrible and tone-y but I love some good MIDI music. It's not horrible, it's just another kind of instrument, another kind of sound.
I do have some songs from "real" bands like Muse and Imagine Dragons, though...and I'm prone to Jpop and other Japanese artists (like Malise Mizer, who sounds pretty gothic) or other unusual genres like operatic metal (Nightwish). This also means I'm pretty unfamiliar with popular bands. I might know a band name or a song name but a lot of the time, not "basic" knowledge like who is who's lead singer or drummer or what band plays X song.
So, yeah, eclectic.
Rii can draw! Check out her chibi art shop or her insta!
How about a webcomic about villains stumbling around redemption arcs? Drop by:

I really love J-rock, symphonic metal, new wave, and any genres that are similar. My favorite band is Malice Mizer! Oh and videogame soundtracks are usually really nice too. My favorite of those would be the Spyro the Dragon soundtracks done by Stewart Copeland, there's nothing quite like them.
I've been listening a couple Smokey Joe and the Kid songs nonstop lately (Jailhouse Blues and Somehow)
Highly Suspect's Serotonia has been my fave song this whole year! Until the Ribbon Breaks is probably my favorite band, 2025 and Goldfish are my favorites, and the cool thing about these guys is that they have a lot of genre variation within their music!
the Young Pope (series) soundtrack hit me real hard and i've been listening to Levo (by Recondite) nonstop pretty much ever since!!
I find that I like at least one song of every genre, but my ultimate favorite is Big Band. I also like EDM, Japanese rap, J-pop and 1920's jazz quite some.
I don't really have a favorite genre, it's just kind of whatever speaks to me? Does that sound pretentious, hahaha...
Lately I've been listening to a lot of music from older shows and movies I used to watch. Recently, Heaven's Not Enough by Steve Conte has been stuck in my head. It's just a fun song to sing. That, and Gravity by Yoko Kanno, from the same series (Wolf's Rain.)
I also listen to a lot of kpop.
