Im going to be careful here and hope not to get in trouble, there are other places [gasp!] lol, where you can buy an avatar skin that is human, but much better quality, with/without makeup, and shaded/sculpted bodies with really lovely skin, no 'bits' if you know what I mean. I dont mean in different poses just the bog standard avie but with a lot better skin/face etc.
I cant post pictures because of copyright I expect. It would be great to have options for the human type of HA we are.
1: I know we can buy custom makeup and shading, I would hate for the custom makers to lose out, they work so hard for hardly any profit.
2: It could be made by Subeta itself like a plastic surgery place in Centropolis where you can buy them with either CSC or sp, so no one loses out. Just like the zapper and the biting at masquerade time. In fact the newest zapper skins, day/night are somewhat like Im talking about. 3: I have no idea, but maybe custom makers could be allowed to make them,? I know Odduckoasis is amazing for one, and already makes hands, others are making arms in different poses.
4: I know there are options for coloured avies, eyes, noses and all that, they still have their place of course.
is this ok do you think? any more ideas?

No support.

Body mods that fit within the HAs outline already exist in CW and sP forms. Body mods that fit within clothes alterations to the HA outline already exist in CW and sP forms

NPC Rochelle already has set up a shop.

It is never in the interest of Subeta to make anything like an official conversion of CSC and sP values.

No, We do realize that NPC Rochelle has a shop, where you can get "body parts"

But I think what is meaning, is a "whole standard" skin.

Like the cloud. or copper.

only it would be more "regular human" looking.

Like she says. We are not asking for subeta to cut into the customwear artist, who makes cw's as in "blushes" or "eye shadow"

There's a whole array of perfectly normal human skins under Base, with ten natural tones that you can gently modify with Curious dolls. So whatever you think you are asking for, it's not at all clear.

The HA base is Chibi-fied and will stay that way permanently.

I think they're just saying an update to shading? Or at least, a version that has shading as detailed as a zapper skin but isn't a monster or alien or zombie. Kind of like the difference between a basic barbie doll and some hand-painted ball-jointed doll.

I've actually considered doing something like that, but I didn't know where it would be distributed (I don't think the zapper's appropriate and I don't think it should replace current bases) or if I could even do it right. I don't think you'd want the face to be a part of it, just the skin. But then, do you add shaded areas where eyes would go? Mouth detail? It would be strange for the body to be better defined but not the face.

yes. and there are the subeautique and delish to change your eyes, put extra on your face/bod

and it does make it easier, now that we can put as many "of the same layer" on as we want (up to 35/45)... or 30/45 what ever it is.

YES! , that's what and i were talking about. heh neither one of us are artist, OR programmers/computer people, so we don't really know if it's feasible or not.

and something that can be bought for sps, instead of CW's and csc

and as i said, we DO realize that the different sets/delish items are starting to do certain things like that (adding shading, etc)

Also, you can totally post pictures. If you don't want to direct link, take a screenshot. There won't be a copyright issue, because you're just trying to show an example of what you're talking about. :)

Yechh, I understand now. No support.

I think that no matter what you do with this kind of thing it's still not going to look human and probably will look downright creepy because the HA proportions if they were in the RL would be seen as a severe handicap. They are artistically cute, but they are in reality foetal. Even if it was allowed, this would mean that there would need to be a more very-specific model in the Subeta artist's playbook about where an eye or a knee or a fingerknuckle could possibly be. It's a whole lot of trouble for little gain.

Before the CW system and even before many full body mods were created this was suggested and rejected. I don't see it getting past the CW rules or

Are you talking about things like this?

Personally I like the idea of more items like that, that can give some shading to the skin (which by default is a flat solid color) but I don't think it would be worth implementing an entirely new system for it. It can be achieved through both official items (similar to the curious dolls and other semi-transparent body items we have onsite) and CWs like the ones above can be made too. Basically from my perspective I do like more HA things but I think this can be done with existing site features, there isn't a need to make an entirely new feature for it. I hope I'm understanding your suggestion correctly.

I'd love to see more shading options for HAs. A basic set of contour items would be perfect for the Grooming Parlor, to expand on the makeup section. Personally I'd be thrilled to see contour kit items in "light handed" and "heavy handed"varieties in enough colors to work for all the bases at the very least. Colorful "Halloween" contour would be a lot of fun too; you could use it to add some color to the normal base or layer it over skins to get a natural contour for them.

There's a ton of ways you could do this though and I always want more!

Im not talking about changing the shape or anything about the avie we have now, just adding another option for skins that we could buy that are more human, simple ones could be bought for sp and more detailed ones for csc.
I love things like reapers coconut body oil, and the other oil, Ive got tons of make up and contouring stuff, the last thing I would want is for custom makers to lose out, they would still sell items of course, this is just another option for the site. Over the past couple of years it has been wonderful to see so many ingenious HA that people can now make and they are all very individual, this would just be another option, like the skins we already have, and they could be added to the zapper or in their own shop.

Yeah! Let's put to no use the items and CWs that do body shaping! Lets deflate their value and risk never having a new one released EVER again!

isn't asking to change the HA's shape, they're asking to change the shading.

I personally don't see how it's that much different on the examples vs. the current HA or something that can't be done with the muscle tonics and things we already have onsite. Maybe more options for those would be okay but I personally don't see that much of a difference that we need entirely different skins for it [edit] I misread your post that's what I get for multitasking >_<

Who's to say everyone would prefer these hypothetical skins over what they can already accomplish with existing items? Why do we have to consider CW values before making new items/avatar options?

because they would be more easy to use (no layering with 5 shading items) and because CWs are a part of the site? Don't see why not considering them. Also I'd appreciate if you could ping me next time you question or mention my post.

Some people would still prefer to layer, and again, they might not like how our version would look.

As for values, idk what's private and what's public, what the original price ranges are, what the original batch numbers are, or even what the current demand IS. I wouldn't even know how to interpret that data or do anything meaningful with it if I did have it. Though you seem to be saying that official items shouldn't be made if they serve a similar function to existing CWs.

Then again, there were official contouring-type items on the site first, and there was clearly still a market for CW versions.

i wouldn't mind more body mods... i use my a lot, more easily-accessible things like those would be nice. (i have plenty of old cws like the bust/essence of manliness wishlisted, but everyone knows how that goes, haha.)

i don't think i'd want new skins though, i'd rather have more stuff like the bust, , [item=Genetech SecondSkin V.2], [item=Ghouls Choice Liquid Latex (Medium)], or the curious little dolls -- i think stuff that's not attached to the base is more interesting to use bc you can play with the layering more. that's just me tho

Sorry for my wording then, I meant that both, official items and custom items may face a deflation and since staff would draw and release all those bases, is very likely that the releasing of such type of item is cut off, or decreased. There are some body mods CW in the cash shop, but we don't need to rely on them.

I see! I still don't think it would deflate existing items in any meaningful way. I also wouldn't personally stop drawing body mod items, because I like giving people lots of options!

Here's a quick and crappy version of what I was thinking of doing (, is this close to what you were thinking?) Our current vs. this version which is like, heavily soft-shaded and has gradients and everything.

I still think there'd be a lot of room for customization there.

I LOVE that example. I do think the shading on the HA bases are old-fashioned compared to the more recent art strides in the items that get released now, so sometimes it looks a little odd. Having some accessible items that change the shading on the HAs like your example would be amazing for matching with newer items :O
