I guess at some point during the day, Egg and TP links on profiles were changed to include a changing code or something?, so that you can't just put a link to it in your signature any more. (ToT links changed too, but with the sCode for that, it doesn't matter.) I understand this was done to counter auto refreshers, probably? But it means normal people who just had those links in their signatures for people who might want to Egg/TP them or who posted on the thread where you Egg/TP each other are useless now. If it updates every hour or so, what's the point? Cause I'm not gonna keep updating that link. I wanna set it and forget it.
Can we, in light of this change, also get an sCode for TPing and Egging then? Maybe? c:
Okay fine, just for you. :)

, yaaaaaaay, thank you. <3
A huge thank you from me, too! I'd hug you, but spiders don't mix well with me. :'D
This reminds me - any chance of adding a random sCode for trick-or-treating, flowering and kissing, too?
Oh that's a good suggestion, and I mean, I don't see why not tbh. But what would it look like, any ideas?

@ Bug I dropped a topic in suggestions earlier in the day, but I figured I'd ask while you were poking around these!
Possibly something like this?
tot
kiss
flower
If Random doesn't work because of code restrictions, maybe "randomize" instead?
As I've said in the other topic, not sure about a random code for Masquerade dances because I don't know how the code picks users. Plus, you have to accept Masq invites and the other three activities are instant.
Thanks for linking the topic, I'll keep an eye on it.

No problem, dude. :D Looking forward to seeing what you'll come up with!
- Just wanted to let you know that I love the new sCode! However, I'm still getting the "Oh no, you've got an invalid link!" error with it.
I keep getting the error too. I think the problem now is you have to refresh the page with the links/scode in order to get a new link that works (if you leave the page open too long, the links expire), and it's kind of annoying... :| maybe generate the code when the link is clicked?
I appreciate the sentiment of stopping auto-refreshers, but I was just keeping the random house page open and refreshing every now and then (manually) and that was really convenient and I thought the point of the random house function :c

i don't like this new way. i have to go back to the user's profile and click to TOT again. i usually TOT at one user for a while so it's annoying to have to do that every time i want a new link. :(
Feedback.
The new scode links are great! Hurray for links. I love links.
The links expire after half an hour. That means you get maybe 3-4 TOTs if you remember to refresh on time if you're TOTing at a specific person's house. Maybe 5-6 if you're using the random link. That's annoying. Please increase the timer on this? An hour (or more) would be a lot better. Having to go back to a person's profile because the forums are cached so that the link on forums will always be invalid is annoying. What's the point in having the links if they don't work? Having to go back to the news page to get a new random link (which is also usually invalid due to caching!) is annoying. It's supposed to be an easier feature. This negates that. Thank goodness I'm not egging/TPing people if there's also a half-hour expiry on those. One egg/TP per link? Really?
I feel like this is a huge waste of everyone's time. Are there really that many people using autorefreshers? I just refresh pinned tabs manually. Having to constantly reset them is tiresome. :c
I'm not trying to be grumpy, just to convey how difficult this new system is. <3
Edit: Apologies for my confusion about the random link. x) At the time it was consistently giving invalid links though, even upon refreshing. I'm pleased with the compromises and general improvements so far! :) /hopes for more improvements/
I think as long as they add the ToT sCode for the random user one, the refreshing links isn't a big deal. Once it's added, I can just add it to subeta's notepad widget. I'm always refreshing Subeta when I'm online anyway and/or clicking around so the link in my widget is always updated. Even if I wasn't, I just need to refresh Subeta and click the link again. Two actions isn't that bad to me, Also, thanks for the egg and tp codes!

While I understand why this change has been made I have to say that the new coding for ToT is quite inconvenient on mobile. I want to play on the mobile site layout but now I had to switch to the desktop layout because otherwise I cannot get a fresh link.
I am ToTing on my friends' profiles and these button links expire!!! I need to refresh or go anew to the profiles after a while! It worked fine/as usual until later afternoon yesterday :-(
I just want to clarify that this is false. News sidebar links are not cached. If you refreshed the news page then you should be getting a valid link. I am also looking into adding a random tot sCode (and other random sCodes) to make this easier.
Unfortunately, yes. We're in the same boat; we'd love if autorefreshers weren't a problem because it annoys us too to have to account for them. I sympathize, but we don't really have a choice because of how many people were autorefreshing to get free items and such... that isn't fair to all of you either :/
We noticed players not just using autorefreshers, but encouraging other players to use them too. We also noticed some people thought that since the links were not time-sensitive, it meant we were okay with autorefreshers. That's not true; We have always said that we highly discourage and frown upon them. (Aka, don't use them!!) But the time-sensitive code is back now anyway, for those who thought we were encouraging it otherwise.
We will continue to make sure the new links are working correctly, and we'll do our best to make it convenient for those who aren't cheating (For instance, with a random sCode or other suggestions - we are listening!)
Because someone will ask: autorefreshers are technically "allowed", in short, because we care about not punishing innocent people. It's very hard (almost impossible) to prove that someone is autorefreshing versus refreshing manually. So if we gave out warnings for it, there's simply too high a chance that we'd accidentally punish someone who is innocent, and we care about not doing that.

Perhaps there should be a news post or announcement about this, along with the new sCode links (and the random ones, when those are created). I've noticed people still seem to be confused, quite a few bug threads about it have been created, and even in some other Morostide threads people have been asking what happened to the links.
All this talk of autorefreshers and getting 3-4 ToT turns max before the links expire reminded me of another little thing.
Wasn't there a ToT buff last year, or the years before? I've been ToT-ing from the start and I haven't gotten it once. Discontinued, or bugged?
- I wouldn't have a problem with this if refreshing the page actually reset the links. However, I have to refresh the page for a solid 5 minutes at least in order for the links to work again. It makes me want to go play The Sims instead...
