I am stuck on level 16 of battle-quest and am wondering what Items/scrolls I could use in order to increase my chances at furthering my battle-quest levels.
My pet stats are:
Level: 230 Health: 586 / 586 Strength: 602 Defense: 602 Speed: 572 Intelligence: 263 (I can raise this without a problem if need be) AP:16
The items I am using are: [Item2=Freezewand of Doom] [Item2=Forj Tempered Kusarigama] [Item2=Ol Blue] (hardly ever use this in battle) [Item2=Recycle Blaster] [Item2=Tigrean Machete](hardly ever use in battle) [Item2=Forj Tempered Shield] [Item2=Phoenix Quill]
I have no scrolls currently, and feel like this is a huge hinderance, so help with what scrolls to use would be very helpful!
Thanks a bunch and have a nice day :]

Would you mind sharing which opponent(s) you're currently having difficulty beating? The opponents are chosen randomly from a pool for every 5 BQ levels so it'd be more helpful to know which specific opponents are giving you a hard time.
Sure!
Right now it is Slavam, but I also have trouble with FeliBot 1.0.1, Fish Breath Jacques, Recycle Beast and The Hustler!
It could very well be that I am just not at that tier yet! And if that is the case then that is okay, I'd still love help maxing out this tier! :D
Thanks again!!

I've just tried replicating your set with my T5 pet and I must say unfortunately all the above challengers are more suitable for T6, especially Slavam, Fish Breath, Recycle Beast and Hustler. The furthest I could get to with Felibot is to get his health to light green. The lack of scrolls and healing on my weapons didn't help to get me any more than that. I guess with your pet's current health it would be quite difficult too, since for a long battle you'll be vulnerable to crit hits. At T6 better options are available and will guarantee you a better chance at winning.
As for now I'd recommend investing more in your health to absorb more damage and heal for more when you're using a percentage healer at T6 and beyond. I'd also recommend making at least the Soothing Current scroll at the Shrine for the 8% heal, and upping your intel so that you can equip at least a defensive scroll such as Cobalt Eternal and/or a freezing scroll such as Perilous Whirlpool. You're very close to T6 anyway so it won't be long until you can take on Felibot :)
Would you recommend then that I start to get prepared for T6 gearing and scroll use?
I figured that gear wouldn't get me to be able to defeat them just yet, I mean some of them two hit me right off the bat haha.

Yes you can start saving for T6 gear from now. I'm not sure what else you've got available in your armory, but I guess there must be more that you haven't listed. For T6 weapons, I'd recommend the following: which blocks a good chunk of common icon types dealt by most opponents in T6-T8 range. It however has a chance to block nothing at all, but overall I still like it better than the Forj Tempered Shield since it doesn't break easily. Since it's summer and the other Wand of Doom is in the summer stock, you can grab it to combine with your Freezewand of Doom later when you hit T6. 10% heal plus chance to freeze make it a good infinite attacker with heal. Depending on how you use it it can last until high T8. from the Battle Shop. 100% freezer, very handy unless you've got the better freezer for the tier that is At T5 and 6 I also used Malevolent Grenade but depending on opponents there might be better options. I'll try battling with my T6 tomorrow in BQs to see what else can be specifically useful for BQ opponents.
How much of a hobby would you consider battling on Subeta? Are you going to pursue it as one of your main hobbies or is it just a side hobby? If you're serious about battling, or want to be, there are other, more expensive recommendations that I would make, which you would use forever. If battling is only a side hobby and you don't want to invest in it because you've got other priorities, I'll see what else can be useful and decent for a budget set :)
I will buy both the wand and the chest armor and wait for the point to get the Collar.
I want to make battling a serious hobby! Right now I have my pet creative on auto train with csc that I buy with sp. As long as I am on subeta I want to train her! (now I do spend money on collections and stuff too, but I don't mind investing in battling as long as I have the money :D)!

Since your pet is already near T6, I'd recommend saving csc from autotraining. 20 csc can buy you 1 stat tome which gives out an average of 8 core stats plus 2 intel points and level. If the amount of stats you gain per autotraining session do not equal that, it's an indication that the value you get from autotraining starts to decrease. Right now if you complete all 15 quests, you earn approximately 10 stats per day. You can start thinking where you'd want to invest those stats. As for me, when I was at T6 I started to dump every EXP I earned into Health and train the other three stats via the training centre. Depending on your battling style, you can invest those EXP into a certain stat. This will not affect your pet's training in the TC at all.
As for weapons, I'd recommend the following staples: Both are available in the Antique Shop, or sometimes pop up in the Advertising Forum or Trade for cheaper. These plus the Recycle Blaster will be your good friends as long as you still battle. Reviver of the Lion might not see its use against opponents that do not allow healing, but Soma Tablets and Recycle Blaster are effective against literally any opponents.
Then a full block may be helpful in cases of emergency, especially when you're still at a lower tier: or but you'll see less use for them once you hit T11+. I'll leave it to you to decide whether you'd want to invest in one. A near full blocker (but it doesn't block light or dark icons) is the , which is cheapest to make via the Shrine. It comes with a penalty of -5% heal for your pet's max HP, but much cheaper than the full blockers above. This scroll however takes up 20AP and won't be usable for opponents that disable scrolls (Cranky Carrot - Fireside Event opponent or Dean - Level 25 BQ).
If you don't mind making big investment, the following will grow with your pet and will be useful until T13: or I think that's it for now. I'll come back with more recommendations tomorrow after battling with my T6 in BQ :)
Awesome! Added them all to my WL and will be saving up for them!
As far as auto training goes, I still get ~10-12 levels of health currently with auto train. Should I still cut it out and just try for tomes? or wait till I get less than 8 for auto train and then get tomes?
I look forward to more details tomorrow!

Intel is the most expensive stat to buy right now, and one intel point often costs more than twice as much as one HP, so personally I think you're very close to the point where auto-training becomes less profitable. You can stop auto-training when your pet reaches T6. Boosting stats using tomes can be expensive, so if you can hold off from using them until your pet reaches T13 that would be the best time to go on a boosting spree, because then the EXP cost to buy stats will become ridiculous (3,750 EXP for one point in STR/ DEF or SPD and 4,500 EXP for one point in HP, to give you a rough idea). Of course you can use tomes for lower tier pets to speed up their growth, but once you're using them training will become expensive. Tomes tend to boost levels a loooooot so it will affect your training time too. I'd recommend hoarding them and using them, if you must, during site events when you're very close to beating an opponent and using tomes will help you get the wins you need. As for now, training pets via the TC and BQs are still good, and it'll take you just a month and a half or so to advance to T7 if you consistently gain ~20 stats per day via BQs and the TC, which is good progress imo :)
Should I read as many books to her as I can afford right now to raise up my ap? or should I focus on saving SP to buy better items?

I'd try to get at least 20AP. Are you using the checklist on Subetalodge to help keep track of the books you've read to your battle pet? Restocking those books from the main shops would be the cheapest way to earn AP. Those plus books from the Quest Shop, Event shops (e.g. Steamworks, Esther, L'amour Palor), Go Outside, Medicontra, Blue Building, Spindle Shops and Carnival Prize shops combined can get you 30AP or more. and they're quite cheap. Don't forget cheap books that you can make via the Asmodeus Lab, and the Alchemist by buying book tokens and coloured tinctures. After that, you can work at your pet's AP at a slower rate while buying weapons.
As for battle items, I'd give priority to the Reviver, then Soma. Other attackers are not as expensive. The Trident can wait until you reach Level 21-25 of BQs, but if you manage to find one at a good deal (under 300 mil, then I'd say go for it first).
Okay awesome! I will start reading! And saving for Reviver then Soma d: I don't have 300k lying around just yet haha :p

K I've just tried with my T6 pet and he's got wins against Slavam, Fish Breath and Felibot so far (no Soma Tablets but I did use Reviver of the Lion). Hustler didn't turn up today so I don't know how I fare against him.
My T6 pet is unfortunately at the higher end of his tier, about 800 stats above yours, but the downside is he's got only 5AP (that's why I picked him out of my bunch of T6 pets who have 0AP) so I can only equip one healing scroll, which means you can get wins against them at lower stats (do expect a bunch of losses though) with better scrolls because you've got more AP.
I think at 700 DEF and HP you can take on most of them, but I still encourage you to try as soon as you reach T6, just to see which would be the first opponent you can take on. Some T6 suggestions: If you want to go the chain freezing path: This one takes up the Freezer slot though, so you won't be able to equip your 100% freezer. Its freeze rate is low to medium.
While you're waiting for the Soma Tablets, this one is cheap and can be used as a replacement: It has medium chance to freeze, low chance to steal (against stealing-enabled opponents, at least 16-icon attack and 25% heal as the cherry on top.
For scrolls, for now I'd recommend: x1 x1 which altogether take up ~20 AP Soothing Current and Perilous Whirlpool are cheap to make via the Shrine. Don't buy them straight off user shop.
Ultimately you'll want to replace your Soothing Current scroll with an infinite healing/ attacking scroll. and are two buyable examples to look at, but I guess you can manage without them until you reach Level 21-25 BQs. If you need help beating any of these challengers, you can refer to 's Battle guide here.
[edit] Hustler is more suitable for T7 pets, but if you want to take him on at high T6 you can try the trick mentioned in his blog. You might need this to steal from him: 90% chance to steal. Cheap. Takes up Stealer slot (so no UltimaPlus Tag if you equip this). If you can't steal his Emo Spork, just forfeit the battle, heal up, and enter it again. I guess you're also using the weak opponents as your healing fodder?
So I have so far:
[item2=Reborn Icewand of Doom] [item2=Mallarchy Tooth Katar] [item2=Frost Thorn] [Item2=Phoenix Quill] [item2=Flayed Lord Breastplate] I'm saving up battle points for this [item2=Gate Keeper Collar of Slavery] and saving up SP for these [item2=Soma Tablets] [item2=Reviver Of The Lion]
I am still debating on scrolls, I might try and just buy scrolls I will use now until tier 13... do you know what scrolls that would be? Again thank you so much for all the help!! :D

For scrolls, the first investment I'd make is OR OR They're similar in that they are all infinite use, offer a percentage heal, block some icons and have 20-24 icon attack. Some might take up more AP than the others (Feather Explosion). Some heal for more (Ocean Currents) and they have different icon biases, but eventually you'll only need one. Either Aftershocks or Ocean Currents might be more ideal despite their heftier price tags, since they take up less AP. Aftershocks blocks the most icons (17) and deals the most (24) out of the three. Its blocks are some among the most common icons (physical, dark and earth) but Ocean Currents are helpful for certain water-weak opponents such as Meatslab the Furious or Forj the Erupting (neither are in BQs though). So it's up for you to decide which one to invest in.
Freezing scrolls: These would be your goals to work toward: Freeze chance: 75%, 14-22 icon attack, blocks 75 ice. Achievement prize for beating General Error 10 times in the BC (achievable with a mid T10 pets, so some time later this year).
won randomly as a rare loot drop from Nightlady, 85% freeze chance, blocks 75 wind. She'll be back this Morostide and can be beaten with a mid T9 to T10 pet. You'll be there by October so this one is something to look forward to.
Battlers often fill their set with an infinite healing scroll and the rest with once per battle scrolls. Among the most preferred are freezing scrolls. Then defensive scrolls (Cobalt Eternal and Sancturia Exodin) and OPB healing scrolls (Gift of the Forj). Some other bomb scrolls (Morosbane, Gale Force, the Void) can be won as loot or purchasable from the Battle Shop (Gale Force is the least common one I think) so you'll eventually end up with one or two of those (and won't likely use them very often at high tiers anyway, but they're OP for low- and mid-tiered pets).
My priority would be the infinite healing scroll, then a couple defensive scrolls such as Cobalts. When I haven't got my freezing scrolls, I made a bunch of Perilous Whirlpools via the Shrine. They're cheap and have medium freezing rate, and I'm still using them a lot nowadays as back up freezing scrolls.
wow okay! So I have quite a lot of SP to raise haha!! But I will get it and then get those!
I am going to be getting AP up right now, do you know what a good AP goal would be? Before t6?

As many as you can manage. We can never have too much AP, though we tend to manage with what we've got pretty well. I'd say at least 30AP to allow you to equip 4 scrolls (1 infinite heal, 1 defensive and 2 healing, or 2 defensive and 1 freezing). Then afterwards you can make short term goals to increase your pet's AP, let's say, by 10 each tier until T9, to keep it manageable. After you've got the staples out of the way, it'd be time to focus on AP. During site events, you can borrow weapons and scrolls from other battlers, but it's impossible to borrow AP to accommodate the scrolls you borrow, you know what I mean 😄
haha true very true!!
I also had a question about items that allow you to fight new opponents, are they worth it? Do they give anything worth battling for?

Certain ones are worth it, the others aren't, especially if you've got only one battle pet. It's always cheaper just to buy the stat boosters and the loot if there's a certain one you're going for, when they have gone down in price (the loot drops). There are however a few that are worth picking up, even if you're not strong enough to beat them yet: summons 3 opponents, scaling in difficulty (you'll need to beat one a certain number of times to unlock the next stage. The hardest opponent gives out and the second hardest level gives out and which are among the best mod crystals to slot onto your weapons. Similar to the Summoning Tome, it unlocks 3 opponents through 3 stages (you must complete one to advance to another). The 3 stages each gives out an item which together can be combined in the Asmodeus Lab to make the which is a T12 godly that attacks, blocks 100 magma icons and heals 10% with other added bonuses. unlocks a T11 challenger that gives out the unlocks a T11 challenger that gives out the which is a good T11 entry weapon.
Those are the most notable ones. If you've got only 1 battle pet, I'd recommend buying only those that gives out enough EXP worth 10-12 stat tomes' equivalent of stats (which you can usually buy with 250 CSC.
It's usually worth waiting to see what the loot drops are before deciding to buy a summoning item. Battlers often post the loot in the comment section whenever a new opponent becomes available. Other opponents available through the MC, however, are worth buying :D
[edit] I forgot the which unlocks 2 challengers, one for T10 and the other T12. The harder version gives out the which is an excellent weapon that blocks ice and magma.
