I picked up (I used the csc I saved from not auto-training my pets haha :D)

Hey let me ask you, I am having trouble beating the Dust Bunny, and I have beaten it 5 times, but I feel like it was just luck, because I can't always do it :/! Do you have any tips for that fight?

Cool now you can unlock the Molten Summoning Tome and fight the first two stages of the Forj. You'll need 70 wins against the first stage to unlock the second so that one can wait. The first Forj will drop which you can use to slot on to your T6-T8 weapons. You'll get rid of most of them at T9+ anyway so don't waste on them.

As for Dust Bunny, I've managed to get 10 wins with my T5 pet (stats around your pet's): Health: 527 / 617 Strength: 617 Defense: 617 Speed: 96 Intelligence: 8 AP: 0 (LOL 😂)

My pet died a few times but (1) no one cares about losses so don't let the battle records deter you (2) that's because of his non-existent AP. You should be better protected with scrolls than he is.

Now to the guide. It's rather long because I'm going to break things down, so please bear with me.

First, when you fight against an opponent, it's important to pay attention to the battle text and the column on their side, which will tell you their icon biases. If you still find them difficult, it's always ideal to try to block as many of their big icons as possible, while dealing icons that they themselves don't block. A quick look at the Dust Bunny and I can see that he's got the following notable weapons:

Dust Bunny's weapons Sneezing Fit 6 or 7 :dmg:water: 8-14 :dmg:wind: blocks 9 :block:wind:

Watery Eyes 4 :dmg:physical: 4 :dmg:dark: 8 or 9 :dmg:water: blocks 4 :block:physical: 4 :block:dark: 4 :block:water: 4 :block:earth: Low chance to freeze

Runny Nose 2 :dmg:physical: 6 :dmg:water: 6-8 :dmg:earth:

Scratchy throat 4 :dmg:earth: 4 or 5 :dmg:physical: 6 :dmg:dark:

There's a weapon of his that boosts his defence by 50 each turn (sorry I forgot to take note of what it was :P), meaning if he uses a weapon with block, your damage using the icons he blocks won't get through to him (or will get through very little). His high defence won't affect the damage from icons that he doesn't block though.

Now you can notice that his weapons are heavy in water and wind, then dark and earth up next. He does physical but those are tiny teeny and you don't have to worry that much about them. Your priority should be blocking his water icons, then wind. The following will come to your rescue: T4, 2 mod slots, blocks 4 :block:water: 4 :block:dark: Now that you've got 2 mod slots, you can buy two to slot onto it. They're dirt cheap so you won't have to worry about losing them if you replace them in the future (Btw, I've got one spare Beak Blade and can give it to you if you want, so you don't have to buy it). ETA Now that I look at your original set again, the Ol Blue could work (even better than the Beak Blade because of its icons and freeze chance). You just need to slot 2 on it for the water block.

Now if you pair the modified weapon (with water def) with your Lucent Barrier scroll, which has two more water icons blocked (along with wind, physical and dark) you'll be even better covered.

That leaves wind and earth, now you'll want to bring this with you into battle: and activate it in the second turn. It'll activate a blessing that blocks 6 :block:wind: 6 :block:earth: 6 :block:dark: which happen to be the Bunny's commonly dealt icons, so you're good with wind and all those stray icons.

If you need even more wind defence, now it's the time to make and use this shield: which blocks 5-9 :block:wind:. It has 2 mod slots, but this time you might want to add two parched tear crystals (that you win from the Forj, or two from the battle shop) on it for the freeze protection.

Now onto set, the set I used is: Please note

  • The equivalent for the Malevolent Grenade + Beak Blade combo is your and/ or .
  • I deliberately chose the icy freezing rod of doom because the bunny doesn't block ice, so my damage will get through.
  • If you've made Soothing Current, I'd recommend it over Lucent Barrier, but if you haven't, Lucent Barrier is still very good.
  • The blessing from the Shrine lasts 10 turns. Try to finish the battle within 10 turns so you can make the most out of its protection :D

Now the sequence of attacks: Turn 1: Shield (Forj pauldron) + freeze + scroll Turn 2 (if bunny is frozen): Blaster + Shrine Turn 3: Bantam Beak Blade + shield When low health: Freezewand of Doom + shield When health in blue (~200HP or so):Tag + shield Use phoenix quill when necessary. Use scroll every turn.

If the Tag manages to steal bunny's Watery Eyes, you can use that + Freezewand of Doom/ Ol Blue + scroll in every turn. The Watery Eyes has low chance to freeze and blocks 16 icons so it's very good against him. You won't suffer any penalty when using this weapon against him (some opponents' weapons, when stolen from them and used by you, will damage you for a certain amount of HP from your health - so be careful).

Have fun and let me know how it goes for you with the modified set.

Dude it worked great! I was able to get 5 more kills in a row no problem!

As far as modifications are concerned, is there any item, like the phoenix quill, which is used pretty much through all tiers, that I can modify now at its maximum?

Thanks again!! :D

Yes you can start slotting mod crystals on your staples. All the others are not worth it. The reason why I recommend defence and attack crystals is because they patch up the holes in your temporary weapons. For your permanent/ staple/ infinite use weapons, the following are better than everything else: Adds 4 icons (2 :dmg🔥 2 :dmg:water:) to the weapon it is attached to, plus 10% chance of activating anti-freeze blessing. Recommended for your blasters and main attackers. 10% chance of anti-freeze and anti-steal blessing plus 18 icon block. Great against stealing-happy opponents. Recommended for your blasters and main attackers. Adds 5 icons (2 :dmg🔥 and 3 :dmg:magma:) to the weapons it is attached to, plus 8% of activating Singed Curse that deals 8 icons for 5 rounds (for a total of 40 icons). Opponents cannot block curse damage so your damage will always get through to them. As you grow in strength you will find curses extremely helpful, especially against opponents that has infinite full blockers (Wyrmgear will be your next enemy with an infinite full block). Recommended for main attackers. Has 5% chance to double your damage for a round. If it happens the same time when you crit hit your opponent naturally, you'll get double crit (damage x 4). Recommended for main attackers. Not recommended for freezer or blasters because freezer and blasters rarely do any damage and are OPB anyway, so there's less chance you'll land a crit (or if you do, do substantial damage) this way.

[edit] How can I forget to say this, congratulations on the wins!! 😄 You're making good progress! 😄

Congratulations! You've got two solid attackers now! I guess you might have known about it, but the Trident can be transformed into the Blessed Trident (its stronger form) and used by a T8+ pet. You'll be there soon :D As for now, just don't use the Minotaur Knocker and Trident in the same turn, since the Knocker will be reverted to its T1 stats instead of scaling. You can however use Blessed Trident and Knocker together without any penalty :D

Again congratz and have fun with your new toys :D I'm sure the Trident and Knocker will serve you well :D

I'm sorry, my bad, if you equip them together in the same set, when you use the Knocker it will revert to its base stats (T1) regardless of whether or not Trident is used in the same turn :D (I just tested :P)

Each would be good against certain opponent :D so I find it quite hard to say. For example, if an opponent deals earth icons and no wind, you'll be better with the Knocker. If an opponent is weak to water icons or deals lots of wind, then the Trident is better than the Knocker. For opponents that are much weaker than us, it doesn't really matter much which weapon we use against them, but for those about our difficulty, most of the time we need to cater to their common icons 😄

When you move to T10+ though, the Trident is definitely better. 4 mod slots as opposed to 1 on the Knocker, 39-44 icons versus 32-39 icons, plus a powerful blessing and a curse too :D. I hope it helps.

Yes you can take a look at what each challenger has in MrCool's Subeta Battling Blog. He retired from Subeta over a year ago so there haven't been any guides for newer challengers, but most of them in the Normal/Secret Tab can be found there, along with their weapons and what they enable/ disable. :D
