Eh, forum activity has decreased in general, but it's not sudden. It's been that way for a while though.

Definitely. People are less active for a variety of reasons but one of the main ones seems to be the discouraging lack of communication from staff when the site has stability issues. Or that Subeta can't afford a mobile app, thus the site isn't so mobile friendly in a time where mobile is king, meaning Subeta is less accessible. That and such is being discussed here What is happening with the site? Where is staff?!

In regards to forum activity, personally, I'd like to see the return of the forum pulse, and the fix of this bug: Lots of threads showing as read [Fixed ?] Not knowing what threads you have and haven't viewed makes it hard to navigate, so fixing that would be excellent. And the return of the forum pulse would show what threads people are actively talking on. When that was around, I could find new threads I didn't see before that others were posting on and it was enticing enough for me to go write on those threads as well. Now I just rely on the smaller selection of the 1 last posted on thread shown for each forum on the main page.

I really would like to see the forum pulse come back! It often helped me find new places to check out, topics of interest, etc.

As someone that kind of pops in and out throughout the year, I've gotta say that I'm guilty of disappearing for awhile in between events. Like it's the easiest for me to make friends during holidays like Luminaire and the Masquerade, because more people are posting and interacting.

Yeah it feels quieter here then usual but I suppose it's bound to happen. Holidays and Summer are the usual times when things pick up... for a short time at least.

I will say that yesterday I woke up and my first thought was "I wonder when I can decorate my tree for Luminaire on Subeta", so maybe others will think like me.
