It's time for Inktober! I thought it would be fun to create a thread here where you can post your creations and keep track of them, as well as stay motivated to keep going. I've never managed to finish a single Inktober myself, but perhaps with other people cheering each other on, the chances of doing just that might increase.
All you need is paper and pens / inks, and a touch of imagination. Here's a list of Parker's tools for anyone interested. Most often participants focus on traditional inking, but you may as well go digital. If you don't have anything in mind, you can always use a prompt list to give you ideas. I'll list the official Inktober '16 prompts below, but I thought it might be fun to list other lists as well. If none of them feel like quite your thing, there's plenty of prompt lists to be found online. And in the end, you do not have to use a list at all, if you've already got something specific in mind.
If there's enough participants, I will host weekly WL raffles for all those who have drawn something each day that week, just to keep us motivated. :D After all, Inktober is not supposed to feel like work, it's more of a fun way to improve your art and technical abilities.

Sadly, this one seemingly fell right out of the sketchbook. I don't mind, because I don't really like how it turned out. :P BUT, I don't have time today to do a second inktober drawing, so it is what it is and I suppose I've learned from it.

Ugh I wish I could do a whole Inktober, but it's not gonna happen. Maybe I'll try to get one or two faux ink pieces done this month and share them here.
@ komodo
That is gorgeous!
I do traditional so rarely that inktober is definitely gonna be tough. ;o; but here's my day 1.

@ chen thank you! And ooh thanks for the link, this challenge looks super inspiring, i kinda wanna try it out hmmm. And i'd love to see your entries too if you can locate a better camera! c:
As a primarily traditional/inkbased artist I always want to do these things but being one of those people who both works full time and goes to school full time, having motivation, energy, and to a lesser extent time to do it is rare, sob. I couldn't even make it through a month of "draw or doodle literally anything in any way on any thing once a day".
Great start so far, folks; good luck this month!
i have prior arrangements this month so i'm not gonna be taking part but i just wanna cheer everyone on! your stuff all looks great so far omgg
I'm really only drawing in ink when I'm bored and have time. I haven't had as much time to draw lately, and I always forget about Inktober. I really wish I actually had time to actually do Inktober all the way.
I'm not sure this even counts as Inktober. I really only drew it because the only drawing utensil I had at the time was a ballpoint pen and I missed drawing in ballpoint pen. I do want to draw something in ink just for October, though not just for Inktober. I remember one of the TAs in one of my life drawing classes in college who drew in ballpoint pen and eventually I adopted his drawing method. It allows for less room for mistakes and acceptance of mistakes if you make any because you can't automatically erase if a mistake is made.
It's not completely in ink, under drawing is ball point pen and overlaid with sakura micron ink pens for the outline inking. the rest is a mixture of conte pencil and graphite pencil on toned tan strathmore sketchbook paper.
just amazing!!! makes me wish i had talent :/

I'm participating pretty much every other day c: It's time consuming to work in ink!

2 - Buncano
3 - Chance Encounter
It's been awhile since I've been online on subeta, I've been mostly posting these on twitter. Gonna update my first post in a mo.
your style is so cute aaa i'm gonna perish. The buncano looks so edible and squishy
I really should do more ballpoint pen doodles as well, I'm a notorious eraser fan. I used to do a lot of those doodles where you don't lift your pen off the paper but just let it flow, and then something happened and the habit just kind of died away.
I find ballpoint to be really nice because of the fact that you can't self-correct. It's also something I usually have with me whereas, fountain pens, full on india-ink I'm not going to be carrying around with me most of the time. I'd show more, but i've been on a blue pencil kick so all the recent artwork I've been doing, mostly urban people sketching in coffee shops and stuff has been non-photo blue pencil mostly.
