Yes there are some very kind and generous people who have helped me. But at the same time many of you seem to look down on me. I feel like I'm all alone on this site and I'm even becoming afraid to post on the forums. Sometimes I make mistakes and post on the wrong one or something, everyone attacks me, my posts are even deleted. And I just got silenced on Neopets for mentioning you guys by the way. I just wish I had some friends around here.... I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum for this I am not the smartest person I figured that general discussion was a broad topic... but I'm probably wrong again... 😢

Its a bit hard to make friends on here if you don't put yourself out there. In general I don't make friends easily online anymore. Its not like I try though anyways xD tbh I do my own thing but I can see how it can be lonely :D I'm pretty sure that if you talk to people around here you can find some people who have things in common with you since its a very friendly place. :D

I understand you quite well. I've been on this site for many years (even had an account way back I let die due to inactivity) and made maybe a handful of friends. Today, every single friend I made are no longer on or active. Even the cults are hard to get into because they are all made by a group of friends and it's hard to really get into the group to even talk because of how close they all are. Had dealings with that in a couple of really well-known groups on here. It's hard to make friends on Subeta nowadays.

If you ever want to talk to someone, feel free to message me. Tbh, this is the most I've talked on the forums but I wanted you to know that there are people out there who aren't out to get you. That there will be a single person or a group of people you will call friend on here soon. Just given the chance. =D

I think a good recipe for finding friends on here is to relax, be yourself and live your life. I'm not a social butterfly at all but found friends here by for example complimenting / being complimented about Pets, Avatar, Profile/profile text and so on. Events and their special forums are also a nice and easy way to meet new people.

Subeta rarely outright deletes posts without extraordinarily good reason and they've happened. And there's always those groups of users to look out for that just start things.

But the best advice I can give you is to just be yourself and go from there. c: Subeta isn't Neopets.

I've been here for 8 years now and still wouldn't say I'm super popular and have tons of friends. I'd say it's like that for most people here. It's not that people are unfriendly or anything, just that it's more likely for people to keep to themselves, at least from what I've observed. Popular forum posts tend to be brief "look what I got at the Token Shop/Bath House/Quest" things or opinions on certain site features. Of course, if you are looking just to chat about life, there is a Chit-Chat forum, as well as the Shoutbox (which I haven't ventured into for quite awhile). You just have to find your group of people and be patient!

The good thing about the forums is that you can find one that is about something you have an interest in specifically, and then make friends there with the other users who are likewise interested!

I hope no one has been outright mean to you, that's not nice, and hopefully you feel better now!

Popularity is overrated

I agree with cults, I joined very popular one and I just can't make friends in it at all as their are so many users O_O! I think it's easier to join ones you have a specific interest in or ones that are just starting out ^-^! I love your HAs hair btw! It's lovely :3!

Im so sorry this is happening to you and I totally understand! When I first started subeta I got a mean comment on literally everything I said.

Even if I posted on the shoutbox I got shouted at! Even this year one user targeted me and commented on my profile daily shouting at me for something or other and they weren't even staff!

It took me nearly two years to make friends on this site but I just joined cults during lumi and made friends in them :)!

The only thing I could suggest is join cults and just post lots :D! It was during a lumi event I found two cults to join and made friends so during moro which should be soon maybe comment lots in the forums :D! You will make friends in your own time don't worry ❤️! Also, most users are cool with random comments on their profiles to talk :D! So feel free to talk to me anytime you wish :)

No way D:! Did neither work for you? I was kind of lucky, I just happened to post on one of the Lumi Giveaway forums and the user who made it then made a cult for the people who participated! I do love talking to users though :3! Im so bad at initiating it tho haha!

Omg the wardrobe atm physically hurts me! We do a daily HA item challenge thing in my cult and omg it took me an hour today to make an ha for it XD! Hopefully during the planned downtime during the week they will be able to fix it :D

Luckily I have a few friends now but I'm still scared whenever I see I've been mentioned on the forums. I expect it to be a bad response from someone. But at least I'm surprised when the person is nice. That's why being a pessimist works well for me. Expect the worst and be relieved or expect the best and be disappointed. It all comes down to which one you respond to better.

Oh I could care less about being popular all I was asking for was some respect and a few friends. Lol. I agree that popularity is overrated actually.

Being pinged/commented by random users = scares me as well. The two reasons:

Oh man. If someone could figure out the way to get people to just be friends without all the awkwardness I'd jump on it. lol I'm so introverted it's not funny. Most days I can't even stand being around people. Having to talk to them, well you don't see how long it takes me to compose a post here (it's been over thirty minutes now). I've given up on making threads and I really want to make one because I have two pets I'm thinking about adopting out. :|

Subeta is pretty friendly. However, yeah I know the problems when you keep running into the "popular opinion" when you're on the minority side. Some aren't willing to actually think beyond having to lash out because you don't think like them. I've pretty much stopped posting because I got tired of having to explain myself when I try to see things from the other side. :(

Then again if someone can get past me being quiet most of the time I think they tend to get scared off by my random weirdness. Luckily the two friends who after quitting actually stuck with me so far on facebook. lmao So there's always hope that someone somewhere will click for you and you'll end up friends.

I get what you're saying about finding it hard to meet friends. I briefly interact with a fairly decent amount of people, but most of the time, nothing further comes of it. Then again, I get distracted in group settings and fail to keep up appearances unless people comment or smail me. So it's probably just as much my fault. xD Once people have their own circle, it's more comfortable to stay inside it. It's natural. ;O; Anyway, I hope you're able to meet more friends. Just keep posting around and being yourself like said! c:
