So, I have spent the last couple of days reading the guides, posts, and such, but am still confused on one thing. What exactly am I looking for in a scroll set, in relation to my weapon set? I mean, you go to the shrine and there are what, nine different icons with multiple scrolls under each. So, do I want the scroll set to match the icons of the weapons? Should the scrolls be different? Do the icons even matter, meaning do I focus on finding scrolls that give the special powers so to speak (healing, freezing, etc)? What am I looking for in a scroll set, to actually compliment the weapon set that I am using? Any advice would be truly appreciated!

the icon type thing of scroll does not matter what so ever. you pretty much want an infinite use healing scroll, freezing scrolls, bomb scrolls for some damage, and defense scrolls.

is one of the better healing scrolls for lower tiers, which gets replaced by or or a handful of others.

for freezers, perilous whirlpool is cheap. the good ones (shriek of despair and psycho smasher) are very expensive but you will be able to earn them eventually. gelaspell is a good infinite use freezer, the others I mentioned are once per battle.

bombs are like morosbane or lucky

and defense scrolls are mostly fatal fire, cobalt eternal, and sancturia exodin

it really just depends on how much AP you have and maybe a bit on what your pet's stats are, but scrolls are pretty independent of stats. focus on getting a healing scroll first. what tier is your pet? if you're tier 1, I think champion may be a good scroll to start out healing 15 hp per turn, telson is very cheap and a bit better too.

Actually, just checked and he just went to tier 2. LOL, wasn't expecting that actually! AP is 9 right now... although I could increase that fairly easily. Some fairly high dollar scrolls you have pictured up there, I knew this would get expensive LOL.

Scrolls are very pricy when you get into the better ones. I'd shoot for raising your AP as much as you can, reading should be pretty cheap for awhile. Then craft a divine denizhen. It should be considerably cheaper to make than it is to buy directly from shops. If you need a list of ingredients for it, let me know. I'm not sure exactly how much AP you need to see it in the secluded shrine

Yeah, I've only been back on this site for 2 - 3 weeks now, not that I couldn't get one or two of those scrolls... would hate to wipe out what sp I DO have so far! Not really looking to jump into battling just yet... just trying to understand how it works and start working toward having what I need when I AM ready to. If I remember what I read correctly, AP isn't affected by your stats, so I should be able to take that up a ways fairly easily. I will focus on that for now, and then see just where my pet is on tiers at that point, and take it from there. Thank you for the advice/info! Cleared up some things for me! :-)

In general, you want scrolls to match your needs and fill in the gaps that your weapons leave open. That being said, there are always certain scrolls you will want to have. You will always want an infinite use scroll that will provide some defense, some % heal, and if you can some attack. Early on scrolls like are great for smaller pets with less AP because it provides some defense and 5% heal. Once you start bumping up intel, you will want to pick up a scroll like that heals for 7%, blocks a small amount of commonly dealt icons and also attacks. If you have left over AP after you equip your infinite use scroll, the you can start to tailor your set based on your opponents and your weapons. If an opponent can be frozen, it's good to have freezing scrolls that have some % freeze rate. and have some of the highest freeze rates, but they require a lot of AP. Sometimes your opponents will deal a lot of certain icons that you can't fully block with your weapons. and will block a large amount of a variety of icons, however they are once per battle so you may need to equip more than one. There are also a lot of scrolls that block a large amount of one icon. Say you are missing a weapon that blocks fire. In that case you will want to pick up a few scrolls that block all or most fire and maybe do other things like heal or attack. I would look at the complete scroll list to see what scroll does what and how much AP it will cost.

Wow! Thank you Wesker! That is much more in depth! I dropped a chunk and my (Ooooo, teir 2) pet has 48 AP at this point LOL. so using most of these wouldn't be a problem, it is the cost I have to deal with now. I have the divine one already, and have been playing around a bit with the battle thing, although still confused on some of it. SO much more intricate than the other site I play on LOL. Interesting, and fun, though... looking forward to moving "up in the world" so to speak. Any advice is truly appreciated... shards (?) for example?

shards like are one use, so they can be inconvenient to use, but in very close battles they can make the difference between winning and losing (or tying) they block a good chunk of one icon, so a death shard blocks 50 physical icons the biggest problem you'll have is finding a lot of the better scrolls, because they're pretty expensive. as you train more and get stronger, you'll eventually be able to earn a few of them though. there are a lot of guides around the forum, so read up on them. train every day, autotraining may be beneficial still for you if you have any spare csc. do your battle quests, the extra exp adds up and really helps out. you won't be able to do many at first but as you get stronger you'll be able to do more

Thank you! One use kinda stinks, but as you say, it can make the difference at times... so, good to know! I have already accepted that I will just have to make the better scrolls... saving up now for that. I have read through the guides multiple times now, which is why I am asking on here... the guides certainly help, but don't really explain things like shard, mods, etc very well. They touch on them, but do not really explain them in depth. I keep my pet in autotrain every day, so now I am just saving up sp and waiting for him to reach the next tier or two... will then upgrade the weapon set and see about making another scroll. ;-)

mods are pretty straightforward, most are useless. is good because it provides the most additional icons, it is cheap, and it can proc a curse for even more extra damage is very good because it procs a blessing which makes you immune to freezing. it also adds some offensive icons is nice because it gives your weapons a crit chance, which an proc separately from your speed crits, so you can get double crits for 4x the damage is nice if the opponent steals because its blessing that it can proc prevents freezing and stealing, and also has some defense on the blessing. it doesn't add any offensive icons though like parched does.

So when you're battling, you have three different kinds of items. Your first row allows you to attach weapons, bombs, healers, freezers and full blockers. These are all items you can add into your armory. The bottom row shows all the scrolls you have attached to your pet through your scroll library. Both weapons and scrolls are attached to your pet by making weapon sets and scroll sets - I'm assuming you already know this since it looks like you have been battling with weapons and scrolls. The second row while your battling holds things like pylonics, shards and other potions. If you go to this link here and click on the link for potions and one time use items, you will see all the items you can attach to your pet for the second row that are one time use. Unlike weapons and scrolls, these are added directly to your pet through your inventory and cannot be shared with other pets. It looks like already covered weapon mods. In addition, every time you battle an opponent you will gain some amount of exp. This experience can be used to buy stats for your pet. You also have the chance to earn battle tokens that can be used to buy items in the battle shop. The only things I would say that are really worth buying with easy tokens are the stat boosters. Harder tokens can be used to buy things like and the baguette crystals. The only tear crystals that are worth buying are blessed armor and critical strike.

- Thank you! I was wondering about the one use things... haven't actually tried any yet though. I'm beginning to get the hang of this, I think lol, and I have been spending my exp every few days... once it has built up some. Thank you and kbbob both for all the info, I at least have a decent idea as to what I am doing now!! I won't hesitate to ask again if I come up with more questions though! ;-)

Yeah the potions are great if you want to add a little more damage to your attack, the shards will defend you against all of one icon and the pylonics can do a little bit of both. The one pylonic I would attach to your pet at all times is since that blocks all icons for one turn, giving you the chance to heal or freeze. Great good luck and enjoy battling!

, I am back for some opinions/advice LOL! My pet is on the edge of hitting tier 5 and would like to know your opinions on what to upgrade with. However, I cannot for the life of me figure out how you post the pics of the weapons and scrolls! (Yes, I am old and not up on all of this computer stuff LOL). If one of you would explain how to do this, I would be glad to post stats, weapons set and scroll set for you to see and would LOVE to hear your advise on where to go once I hit tier 5.

Ummm, haha... I assume that "item name" would mean, for example, Phoenix Quill... but what is "item" on the left of the = sign?

So, here is what I am now using:

I read your thread with Sailor, which is close to what I am asking, and already decided to get the to replace the rod... as well as getting the to combine once I reach tier 6. I also realize that the crossbow should be replaced... the problem I am in now is sp. I only have so much, and some of the items you talked about are just out of my range, i.e. ... only one available in trades and I am sure it is 100mil+, not willing to spend everything I have on one item (am I wrong in this assumption?). I am able to buy OR ... I could probably get both, but again, is destituting my bank really worth having both of those items? I suppose I am asking, with me having around 100mil to spend, what your advice would be on upgrades with the weapon set, and just what should be replaced with what?

Scrolls:

I am fairly happy with the scrolls I am using, but would like to hear your opinion! ;-)

you can replace your icy freezing rod of doom with

is okay if you need another attacker

I wouldn't spend all of your sP right now on the rainbow vortex does almost the same thing at a lot cheaper, bu still it's not necessary unless you have a lot of spare sP

the somas and reviver are good, but they're probably better at higher tiers. you can get them now, or just save your sP and get them later. I'd probably wait awhile on them.

both of those wands are good to have so when you reach t6 you can make the reborn icewand of doom.

you may want to pick up a , they're pretty cheap.

your scrolls look good. I'd keep reading to your pet so you can equip more in the future. but for now, that's pretty good.
