Hey everyone! I just wanted to send out an update and let everyone know we are aware of the issues with the site. Unfortunately, the current admin is busy dealing with a real life situation and hasn't had been able to dedicate time to the site recently. We have reached out offsite, but haven't managed to get in touch and sadly there isn't much more we can do. We endeavour to get everything running smoothly ASAP, however, and will keep you in the loop with any news. If you have any further questions please feel free to ask; I'll be happy to help as best I can!

No problem! I hope we can get back on track soon. Sorry it took a while to get an update across, just been (unsuccessfully) checking whether I could revive the old thread as it had been a while.

So. As you may have noticed the site was down. There was an emergency and the person taking care of it recently is currently away from the internet. so.. the original owner, who is on a hiatus, paid the bill. Which is a lot of money when you're not even on subeta anymore!

They were threatening to delete everything if it wasn't paid within 48 hours. And we only made $2.50 in the past month. To be honest, the site never even came close to paying for itself even when it was more active. It's been out of pocket from people that care about it staying up and running all these years. I don't know if it's going to be able to keep up. We have until the 17th until the next bill cycle. I suggest you backup anything that may be important to you, save your uploads and take screenshots of any comments or adores you want to remember. Just in case.

The site as been paid for until then, so style file is back.

Keep an eye on the news page as I will be posting info on how you can help keep the site alive. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

thank you so much for the update and especially for the honesty about the state of the site. i really appreciate it and i'm sure others do as well. i can only imagine what the cost to keep it up and running must be, especially when you're not even using the site anymore, so while i don't have a lot of extra money to spend, i definitely look forward to helping out however i can with keeping it up and running!

I dunno how active/invested Subeta Showcase (or SubetaLodge) might be, but consideration of combing forces might be worthwhile.

Of course this could also be a great opportunity for the staff to flesh out the 'share outfit' feature into an on-site StyleFile, especially if the fansite side was confirmed going away.

I know the costs of the site have been an issue for a while, thanks for the honest heads up and hopefully a solution (be it keeping it up or not) can be found.

Thanks so much for your help, . Hopefully we can find a way to keep the site going, because it's been an important outlet for us HA fans for so long and it would be a shame to lose all that history. Let us know what we can do!

Thank you for the update! It's a shame to hear the site might disappear. With so many of us out there who appreciate it, you might try an official fundraiser type deal. The lotto had something like that last year sometime and it sounded like it was fairly successful. I know not everyone can help but I know many people would. I hope it works out, and I hope the RL of the person who was running things calms down and brightens up. <3

Do we know how much is needed to keep the site afloat?

aaah that was my donation! :) I second , what is the cost to keep it up? I would have no issues scrapping some money together to help with that. :) And is the money needed by the 17th of this month or next month?

Thanks for the update! I'll miss the site if it goes down, but it must be a lot of money to pay out of pocket all this time. :( I wish I could help. No matter what happens, I, and I'm sure many others, really appreciate having had the site for this long, and all the work and money that's gone into keeping it up.

I can help with the payments too, if there was something like a paypal fund for that, I dunno.

I agree with , if there was a way to 'back up' our profile/user information like it is available here on Subeta, that would be a great option! Perhaps making some kind of donation (monthly) in order to be able to (automatically) back up your own HAs would make sense. In doing so, you would also be investing in the future of the site at the same time. I have no idea what is involved in that however, but it would be nice to know!

And I would also like to know how much is needed, and if it is doable, I would definitely donate. It's not like I haven't in the past, and knowing it will stay up on account of my/our efforts would definitely justify my donation.
