What do you guys think of a "color" where each pet is wearing knights armor, like say a shiny breastplate or neck armor? Depending on the species, the types of armor could vary. Perhaps some pets would have armor along their legs or delicate armor around the face or wings. But I imagine each species having an intricate breastplate regardless.

For a color palate, I imagine the pets themselves being a light dusky blue and white. For the armor, perhaps silver, gold, and deep sapphire blues.

As for the name of the color, what do you guys think of "Valiant" ?

Personally, I think this would be a gorgeous color with a lot of potential. But I already know people are going to fuss about pets wearing anything (despite the fact that there are pets already wearing something), so I doubt this would become a real color on the site.

What a good idea for a overlay for a steamworks pet.

As lovely an idea as this is, , Keith has flat-out said in the past that he will not have a colour where pets wear any kind of clothing, with maybe the exception of the Popoko who wears a collar. Sorry, hon :/

, yeah, there are soooooo many ideas that have to get thrown right out the window (personally, I'd love to see a beach colour, where pets have cute accessories) because of this firm "no clothing whatsoever" decision :/

maybe they are just shiny or have tough armor looking skin. it doesn't need to be clothing.

I would love to see a SAI/Blue Building answer to Steamwork pets - all shiny and modern and robotic, all sleek white and silver and chrome and glowing blue energy instead of brass and cogs and keys. It's not exactly knightly but it could be a futuristic equivalent which avoids the "armor on pets" problem.

It could also make a fantastic plot.

Something like that! I was also thinking something along the lines of these:

cyborg color? I think that would be cool. I like the knight idea too, and I don't like how every time a color idea is put up "oh make that an overlay" making things a custom overlay could be done for anything. glade? could be an overlay for field.

People thought Glade was a Field revamp, at first. I was on staff when that happened and it was hilarious to see Field Potion skyrocket, when we were all IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH IT, HAHA in secret.

Cyborg is more interesting than Knight, imo. Like yeah, armors is cool but, style and color wise, isn't that different from steamworks. Cyborg would have an unique colorscheme, at least.

We also have no hint that a medieval era actually happened outside of fairy tales on Subeta, while robots are absolutely things, and could be manifactured by our good friend Calvin Blackmoon.

Yeah, I like the idea even if my first thought was "eh, neopets."

But if the armor idea could be incorporated into the pet itself, then maybe that would work.

only similarity I see is that they're metal. armor isn't made of repurposed mechanical parts. I wouldn't think a rust color palette would be the color scheme of choice for it either.

neopets did lots of things, we here can try to do them better. if we took away everything that neo did before subeta, we wouldn't have a website.

True, although if Keith's holding fast to the "no clothing on pets" rule and means that to stay a rule, then I figure the best option to get this is to think of a way to armor a pet without putting clothing or armor on actual pets.

some pets have clothing, like escalades. armor can be an exoskeleton though, there are ways to incorporate an armor look without making it a clothing item I would think. I'd hate to see a pet with a tshirt on, but one with a protective exoskeleton that resembles battle armor? that could be neat.

what do you mean by "artists' resources"? But I'd love the look of a pet with armour...why is Keith so against pet with accessories/armour and such? Not saying clothing here, specifically, but accessories and the like. I mean, it'd be so cute to see pets with sunglasses, and other cute accessories, for example.
