I assume Rah just means the artists time. Steamworks are very detailed and I imagine take up a lot of time they could be using to do other things.

/edit Also I was thinking about this ... Subeta doesn't want pets to wear clothes and yet .... A demi An anyu A torrent An ontra A kanis A mortiking A ruffie Oh look another kanis A montre A cybill A terracoon A chai A wyllop Another wyllop Wow another anyu But Squid, those aren't PETS those are walking, talking NPCs. THEN EXPLAIN THIS! Does this count?

These are just the ones I could think of off the top of my head.

I didn't know how much i needed armour pets until now! Can u imagine my neela with full on barding and armour? heck yeah!!! Onward, noble steed! Even modern day hog-dog gear would be cool. Also re: no pet clothing... armour on animals was and is primarily functional, even ornamental barding was to display your faction, and it's not exactly comparable to the wigs and shoes on neopets... imo.

I actually think an armored pet could be cool. Like, pets from different regions of the map could have different types of armor (Saheric would be different from Shengui Guo, so Neela would be different from Legeica, and so on). I think the armors could have different intricacies and color schemes, as long as the pets themselves had the same base color.

That said, maybe we should finish off the steamworks pets before adding a new detailed color. ^^;;;

When I read the suggestion the first thing I thought of was oh, blue and white and gold? That's Angelic pets. But I suppose that there are enough angelic pets with other colors too to make that statement not completely true. I actually wanted those three colors for a similar premise.. a guardian winged lion so I went with the Angelic.

I like the idea of armor, but I wouldn't limit it to those colors. maybe going the carapace way would be cool? Or different countries have different colors and styles, like what suggested.

I like the idea of making it specific to region or species. I think I'd like to see it more along the lines of scales and/or exoskeletons than clothing though. I don't particularly mind clothing when it's an integral part of a pet species but style is such a personal thing, dependent on the person and the character, so it's generally better suited to overlays.

This is how I feel. Armor is barely anything like clothing so I really don't think the "no clothing ever" rule is fair to enforce against it. Its not like people are suggesting adding anthro pets and dresses.

I'd love to see pets with armor based on their homeland. That would be a really cool way to help build up lore. The color could be released all throughout the year based on the region the pet is from.

Hmm, it seems like a cool idea. I liked Rah's idea that the armor is actually part of the pet's body. Like it just so happens that the pet is born with bits of exoskeleton that is shaped and decorated like armor. So it looks like "clothes" but it isn't. (Of course in the context of subeta mechanics it would be different using a potion and all).

I feel like the color itself would develop from any subeta land that was known for having wars? Or maybe long ago in Subeta's history all the lands were at war? (And I agree with Lexx that native pets to one land could have similar armor so you know where they hail from.) and this color was maybe thought to be extinct (as a product of a very specific time period) and was recently discovered and brought back as a potion?

Ahh I have no idea. I'm just rambling and throwing ideas out as they come.
