My usual way of picking weapons has run along the thread of "I happen to have this for some reason, and it's tier 5/6/7/8 so I guess my pet is that now and I'll use it." The last rendition of that is a Blackheart Blade I happened to have in my gallery from some long, long time ago back when Trickster Cherub was like tier 4. It and the Item Defenders shield are the only tier 8 weapons I have. The other main weapons I use are a Twisted Rift Blade and Item Hunt Bomb. My healers I haven't updated in a while: a Rainbow and a Sparkling quill. I also nabbed a Bloodied Sawed Off Double Barrel Shotgun with Machete - but because I saw it in Blackheart and it'd be my first purchase (omg it DOES restock! XD); obvs as a t7 weapon it might not be very helpful to me now. I also have a Slythe and Dice, which was nice back at T6 and will now go into Trickster's TC :P

I have no idea what anything is. I don't even know the names of any higher-tier weapons. I don't know what I'm doing at all with a set. But happening upon weapons without investing in them isn't working for me anymore. I only recently hit T9 so it'll be a while before I get to the next tier...I've seen around other threads that most T9 weapons aren't good but like I said I have just used what I happened to have, so I have no idea what I'm doing at all with weapons. The scrolls I have are Death Delusion...and then another "happened to have" Champion scroll. I'm not really interested in investing in new scrolls right now, though.

The Weapon Guide is a nice place to start if you want to familiarize yourself with a lot of the weapons that are around :)

First, a great healer is a must have so should be a top priority. This is an item you will be using forever so the cost is very much worth it.

At T9 you will need a 100% freezer. is a decent option to start off with... but if you do Battle Quests everyday, eventually you can save up enough tokens for the components in the Battle Shop to make an , which provides freezing protection for two turns after you use it (pretty handy!).

is another nice weapon that I keep in my default set. It blasts any one of your opponent's weapons into a 1-icon weapon. It's cheap, too, which is always a bonus.

Next for your default set you'll need two or three attackers that can be used infinitely in battle. You could use your Blackheart Blade if you want as it's a fair weapon. , , and will heal you every turn you use them so those are nice options. doesn't heal, but it isn't a bad option either and should be cheaper to make yourself.

One attacker I really really like that heals each turn and has a slight chance to freeze is . It scales based on your speed so it can grow with your pet. At T12, I still use it everyday in BQs. is a similar weapon, but doesn't scale or heal.

I don't use shields very much as I rely on weapons or scrolls for defense so I'm not sure how much use you would get out of your Item Defenders Shield. That is really up to your personal preference.

Some pricier items you might want to look into that you can pretty much use forever and that I also use in my default set are: (90% healer, can be used in the same set as Phoenix Quill) (works similarly as Recycle Blaster) (full blocker once per battle)

The Complete Scroll List is a guide to and complete listing of scrolls. I know you mentioned that you weren't too interested in them right now, but I'll list some good ones just in case :P They essentially act as a third weapon so one day you might see why they are worth the investment.

is my personal favorite. It heals your pet 5% and blocks three of each icon per turn. It should also be cheaper to make yourself.

is another scroll I really like. Rather than healing, it has a 9% chance to freeze your opponent, attacks with 20-27 icons, and blocks 9-15 icons per turn.

is another good one. It provides a 7% heal, 22 attack icons, and 17 defensive icons per turn.

Defensive scrolls you eventually will want in your set are: However, they can only be used once per battle so you can stock up on multiples of them when your pet has higher AP.

^_^ Wow, thank you so much! That's exactly what I needed :D

I will eventually worry about scrolls, it's just that I figure changing up most/all my current set is going to be a huge investment by itself so. All the same, I appreciate you included some information about them, since that will save me time when I've saved up enough after this to invest in scrolls.
