"Ah," you think to yourself, "technology has ruined this feeling long ago..."
You walk slowly down the wooden pathway, finding yourself immersed in the many worlds surrounding you, looming like a lonely demon. Finding yourself closing in on the tiny plant, you reach out to touch the clear glass...
"Don't touch that!" A voice exclaims. You turn abruptly, shocked at the sudden noise. The sounds of heaven no longer echoed in your mind, instead replaced by your pounding heart.
"O-oh! I... I'm sorry!" You wave your hands in front of you, trying to show you meant no harm. A shorter woman appears from behind a door you had not noticed before, closing it slowly behind her. Dark circles lay embedded deeply underneath her eyes, as if she has not slept in months, scrying the endless plains of her thoughts for a new journey.
"Beautiful, isn't it?" She motions gently towards the soft, immobile creature in the window. "It will never wilt."
"It... never wilts?" You turned to gaze back to the joyous flower, trapped in the glass before the window. Well, why not? It looked plenty happy enough!
"Mhm," she mumbles, walking closer, "It breathes the air of the beloved, drinks from the wine of the gods, and eats the dreams of the waking."
You were taken aback by the sudden morbidness of her attitude. Her blue eyes turned a deep gray, matching the chasms that lie beneath. You studied her and the plant, back and forth, back and forth, hoping to find something to break the thickening ice.
"I... Don't understand," you say bluntly.
"Of course you don't. You are mortal. Not even I can quite understand the workings of this divine being. I just ensure that it is the sunlight that we all desire, to be in view of the gods above us." She reaches down, peering longingly into the glass. You inch a bit closer, to see what beauty the woman sees before you. As the seconds roll by, you begin to see the world. Grass is creeping along the edges, waving at you from the inside. A rainbow gleams a brilliant light, shining directly into your soul. Your heart warms, bringing the peace back into your mind. Heaven's angels begin to sing again, shattering the angst within with a high C.
"I see..." You speak softly, focused entirely on the fragile world before you. White clouds drift slowly by, dissipating before reaching the ends of the universe.
"So what is it then?" The woman perks back up, her hair flouncing around her shoulders. A look of determination has taken over the empty vibes. "You're here for a story, yes?"

Well I've got an idea for a pet. His name is Yashi, and I want him to be Yoshi's evil twin. Perhaps he was working with Bowser all along, set up the obstacles that Mario and Luigi had to go through to get to Princess Peach, followed them around to spy on them and told all of the enemies what part of the world they were in so they could find them, and other things like that. I'm not sure how that's going to translate into a story, but that's what I have in mind.

I can most definitely see what horrible, scheming plot I can come up with in story form. I'll have to do some reading on the story of Mario to refresh on some things. Is there a specific period of time in the Mario world you want referenced, or would you like something as unique as possible? ("Yashi's World?" Muahaha.)

Oh yay ^_^ No I wasn't thinking of a specific time frame although I'd like for it to coincide with the Super Mario Brothers. I adopted Yashi a few days ago so there's nothing going on with him right now. You have free reign on the length. I can pay for however long it becomes. :)

I really thought about writing children's books, so this will be super fun and challenging. Give me a few days to toss around some ideas and get some drafts written up. I've been sending about half to each person as I complete them, so expect a sMail with an unfinished idea sometime or another soon.
You want to do an art trade? I'll just turn it into a straight up book! Well... As much as children's books will let me anyway, hohohoho
