I've only just recently dabbled in the SB forums of roleplay, and loving it so far. Normally I stick to RPG forums and go from there. However I'm trying to branch out! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a Medieval Fantasy/Magic based Shifter roleplay? I'm still fleshing out some plots to go about and this can take place either in the forums, here or through sMail via one on one.
Storyline & Setting
Evening navy paints the canvas skies accompanied by the millions of glittering specks – namely stars. Soft, luminescent shine engulfs the terrain below by the glow of the lune maiden and twinkling light. Below the heaven-scape sculpts a kingdom just as any other. Concrete walls construct the castle walls higher into the mountain treetops. Below into the valley lies a village populated by working class commoners of many different races of human and mysticism. A silence looms through out the kingdom which has named Artanis since the days of war have long since passed. Reconstruction is an on-going necessity of revival and renewal. While this particular kingdom is ruled predominately by shifters themselves, humans often frown upon them and their magic skills. This has often led to feuds and the recent battles.
Updated 1.29.16 Upon the disappearance of the royal family after the latest war, humans have shown to be more hostile towards those who are considered "different" this can even be between humans themselves and the shifters as well. This doesn't necessarily mean that shifters are no longer allowed within Artanis - but they are more prone to blame for recent petty crimes among many other things. This has led to the tension between shifters and humans alike. This doesn't mean that all humans or shifters are bad, but of course it only takes one bad apple to ruin a perfectly good meal.
More can be added to this and open for minor revamping. Just fleshing out ideas! Feel free to share :)
Rules
-Standard Subeta rules apply as always
-Please no Power playing, GMing, Meta-gaming, ect.
-Humans do not have the ability to control magic.
-With every strength there is a weakness: (i.e. No one is perfect in their magic skill)
-Mythical Shifters (Unicorns, Dragons, Nagas, Chimera's ect. ) are considered rare and often only those of higher class (i.e. King/Queen, Duke/Duchess, ect.) Even then, it is highly unheard of.
-Your character may shift into two different animal/species
-I'd rather not everyone pile in wanting to join as an upperclass . . . (reasonable explanation/possible roleplay sample may be requested upon joining.)
-Your character, Shifter or Human may come from other kingdoms; just be clever and unique of how they ended up in Artanis.
Magic
Magic within this world can consist of maintaining the elements or a specific element. This includes:
Fire, Water, Wind and Earth and the like. This is pretty free form and open to you at your disposal. Any psychic or "mental" gift can be pretty touchy with some. If someone has their mind blocked from those with "telepathic" gifts or what have you, please respect that decision. Also, as stated in the rules: one cannot be high and mighty with their magics.
Magic is developed through the mind and soul and often shown though a small gem or pendant depending on the type magic that is controlled.
Update 1.29.16 Have fun with your magic! If your character controls water, water can come from several different sources. This means that they are more inclined to be skilled with ice, since ice is just solid (frozen) water, ect. Shifters are allowed to be skilled in several different aspects in regards to magic. (i.e. You don't have to have just one - but maybe two or three!) - Just don't go over board ;)
Updates & News
1.6.16 Roleplay has started. I can't tell you how excited I am to get the roleplay moving!
1.9.16 (IC) Three shifters and a human have run into one another outside of curfew hours just outside the walls of Artanis without the means of doing so. One of the shifters has been wounded after accidentally slamming into a nearby tree trying to escape the potential attack of an arrow. The nightwatch is now out in the forest investigating noise heard between the quad and a stranger off in the distance assuming to be heading in the same direction of the kingdom. Meanwhile, a new face has appeared in Artanis as well - the mans intentions are currently unknown to the kingdom with a missing family who claim the throne.
1.11.16 With the night watch closing in, a strange man appears suddenly bolting through the small crowd and right through the night watch guards. Just as quickly as he came, he was darting off again, causing a big chase, unknowingly deterring the guards away from the four strangers. One of the shifters conceals themselves within the shadows, intrigued by the old farmer. The wounded man shifts into his canine form (wolf) and strikes a lone guard who caught sight of the pale woman's lantern within the jowls of her tiger. The guard isn't dead - just severely injured. The fire dancer, and the two remaining shifters now seek for another way back into the kingdom.
1.20.16 What is Vallyn and Lorcan up to O:? Jason has finally caught up to Lorcan as the trio enjoy a drink in the nearest tavern that seems to be on going even in the late hours! Morgäna is reluctantly guiding the fire -dancer human; Athena and the wolf shifter Orion to her clinic. They've managed to by-pass the guards and just a few yards away from Morgäna's clinic.
1.2816 ¬ Twins Azierr and Asvin, born within a noble family have docked ship - returning to Artanis after many years since the families' sudden escape of fires and wars. Asvin is searching for an escort or protection for his sister upon arrival to a new-old kingdom. Curious ears have captured their attention amidst the discussion of some kind of bounty - who will be lucky enough to become the bodyguard of the feisty Azierr?
¬ Orion, Morgäna and Athena have successfully made it to the safety of Morgäna's little clinic. Reluctantly, the young maiden has offered hospitality to both strangers, food for the fire dancer and medical attention to the fellow wolf-shifter should either of them accept. In worry of revealing of who she actually is, leaves her in a flustered, repressed worry.
2.4.16 A mysterious man has entered the Tavern and boldly approached Azierr deeming her worthy of death! o.o!!
2.18.16 Danger looms in the Tavern as drunks and townsfolk alike who were enjoying a drink (or two) have been seen fleeing from the Tavern itself as the dark mysterious man is aiming to take down Azierr. Jason, Lócan, Leeda and Ravyn following Asvin, Azierr's twin brother join forces to defend the noble woman!
3.1.16 Happy March everyone! It excites me to see that this is still brewing with life as the stories unfold between characters and the world around them. The threat of the stranger shifter Cain has calmed for the time being, leaving some injured during the brief combat. He has fled the scene and has taken shape of a Shadow dragon! Keep in mind Dragon's are not easy to come by so this left quite a shock to all. The nameless White tiger (Morgäna's familiar/companion) has just recently discovered that the wolf-shifter Orion has imprinted on the disclosed royal woman who has ventured from the clinic to provide service to the injured in the tavern. Morgäna hasn't quite recognized the noble twins. (Royals and nobles are often aware of one another) A new day is starting to arise as the sun begins to break through navy skies. Who knows what this day will bring our travelers and towns-people!

I've tagged everyone in this, and this can be our little OOC chat base for the time being as well as some further roleplay planning!
-squeaks- AH that makes me happy ;u; I wasn't sure if I'd have any luck at all
:3 Do you have anything in mind plot-wise? Or any other specifics to this role-play?
Character wise, I think I do. I have an OC that I generally like to use in roleplays like this. I kind of have a plot/story line in mind but not a fully developed one lol.
I'm very interested in joining this. I think it would be interesting. As far as magic goes, it can only be used by shifters? Because you said it can't be used by humans, so that leaves shifters? Or are we allowed to have other creatures like elves or fairies or something like that? :]

It would just be shifters c:

I could get a forum/thread started up in the Roleplay forums if you guise are interested or would you rather do it via onexone?
Okay. Just wanted to clarify that one. Thank you. :] I'd like to have a forum thread, but its up to you.
[font=Cambria]
Yes! Do it! I just finished four straight doubles at work and need some role-play for my soul.
Although, if you prefer onexone, that is where I shine.

I will get a forum thing started when I get off work later this evening. Hopefully there won't be any more bugs! :D
Awesome! Can't wait to get this started! Been thinking about characters for the last two days. Haha! :]
[font=Cambria]
https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/846995 Feel free to invite anyone you may think would be interested C:
Is there a ruling party currently? :]
[font=Cambria]
Kinda sorta between yes and no. Trying to keep it as a minor/lesser focus ;u;! I know that doesn't really answer the question 100% There are some kinks being fleshed out >w< There are hints in my first post c:! <3
It doesn't really, but that's okay. haha! xD I was mostly wondering because I was thinking of having one of my character's coming to this land to conquer it and if there isn't a ruling body, it would be a whole lot easier for that to happen, so if there isn't then I'm going with that character, but if there is, then I'm going with a different option. That's why I was wondering. :] so any information would be helpful to that.

Ooo Plots <3 I love this!
My OC is one of the last few surviving - her family led the kingdom for some time but the status is unknown (i.e. shes suppose to be sitting there but doesn't really want to and is in hiding/ deemed "missing" so thats totally an opening for you right there! (If you want to I mean <u< )
Edit Maybe we can delve into this more icly n' stuff ouo
I love plots too! :] Okay that's what I thought, but I wasn't sure if that was the case, so thank you for clarifying that part. I'll probably go with his character then. I like his idea best. :] we can totally delve more into this, if you'd like. I'm totally down for that.
