In the past, we used to have a "new news" bar show up at midnight. This was done away with since the cron died one day and they didn't get around to fixing that, then the bug report was dismissed. With changes to pet spotlight not being every night, we don't have any official indication of when the day resets other than the clock up top.

it would be nice if at midnight, we got a new bar similar to "new news" or "new announcement" that said something like "Quests have been reset" or "A new day has arrived" or something of that sort. For people who are annoyed by this, it should have a unique css identifier so it can be disabled.

I just miss being reminded that the day has been reset, since I am frequently on during subeta midnight. my time zone does not change so subeta midnight varies every so often, so this would just be very handy.

I'm also often on around Subeta's midnight, so this would be nice. I'm not sure how if it could be implemented easily, though. afaik the News and Announcements bars stick around even after they're no longer relevant, so anyone logging on hours later would still see the midnight announcement.

Is Shinwa's alert working? If not, it could be fixed to send out her alert at midnight when she resets. I guess that could be an alternative to a site-wide alert.

This would be easy to implement, I'm just not really sure that it's needed? The reset happens at midnight, every night.

it's easy for me to not realize it's already midnight. half of the year it's at 9pm and the other half of the year it's at 10pm for me. it's also just nice to see it in words that "hey I can do my quests again" instead of relying on a clock that doesn't really tell me anything. It is just a nice reminder.

afaik Shinwa's alert is 24 hours from the time you finish her quests, so every night it will get a bit later and later past midnight.

That's been changed, it resets at midnight now like other quests

Shinwa does but her alert I believe is 24 hours from when you set it.

I like having reminders that things reset. -shrug- I never minded the new news at midnight even when no news was there, it let me know the cron worked and that I can go about my day.

Ahh that is true. It is such a stupid way for Subeta to have it set up, I don't use it. Maybe if it was fixed I would..

well it made sense when shinwa didn't reset at midnight and I am guessing that the alert is just tied to a 24 hour timer instead of cron or something. but now that shinwa is right at midnight along with the rest of the quests, it would make sense for the alert to be at midnight, though I think a quest reset notice would be a lot nicer.

this is really only convenient for the people who are on during subeta midnight though, other people it wouldn't affect so much. it's just nice for when I'm online and not paying any attention to see something that would remind me that I can do quests again. the new news at midnight used to do it for me, and since that went away from being every day, there's just nothing.

For what it's worth, the Ruffie Raffle alert is 24 hours from when you set it too, even though that resets at midnight.

Yeah, I think I would rather have the shinwas and raffle alerts go out at midnight, instead of 24 hours after you set it.

I feel like this would be a really annoying thing to have pop up every single day. Unless we could opt in or out of it.

I don't really see the point in adding it in, especially if you're on here between that time anyhow and can easily see the clock ? Like at the most you'd miss about a half an hour of crossover. At the same time, I wouldn't care if they DID put this back in. I just don't think it's very important or necessary.

All for the alerts for Shinwa and the raffle to be fixed to midnight ! It'd be a good compromise really. Those of us that don't bother won't be bothered, and those that want the alert would have it.

I'd love this honestly, I have a super weird sense of time so I often don't realize when midnight's come and gone even when I have clocks available to mark it so I vote Yes on the Midnight Notifications

There's no point to this, though. You know things will reset at Subeta's midnight which is either 9pm or 10pm for you so you could just check at those times if you can't remember whether or not Subeta's on DST.

The alert options for Shinwa and Ruffie Raffle should be removed though since they're no longer necessary.

As it was said it would be easy to add. I just don't see a point in it.. It resets at the same time everyday.

Personally, I would love some kind of quest re-set notification! People in the same time zone as subeta may think this is unnecessary...

But when you aren't in the same time zone or if you live in a state that doesn't have daylight savings time the time difference is very confusing!! (It's not the same difference all year round!)

I don't know why you're assuming that everyone against it is in the same time zone as Subeta... regardless, the cron resets at the same time each day. Even if where you live doesn't follow DST you know it's either x time or y time. There's a handy clock at the top of every page in case you forget.

Most sites I play on are in a different timezone. Either I remember what the time difference is or I just look at the clock.

If people are really concerned they could set an alert on their computer, phone, etc. for when the Subeta cron resets. That's also easy to do.

Did I sound like I assume it? I never assume anything...

And maybe you're just smarter than me! ;-)

Finally sees the "handy clock"

Maybe I misunderstood but when you said this it definitely sounds like you're assuming that people who think it's unnecessary are in the same time zone as Subeta.

I pointed out the clock as a reason for why this isn't needed. Everyone can look at it and check the time and if there's any confusion over what time it is on Subeta... they can just look there. Because of the clock there's really no need for this suggestion at all.

This suggestion is not because I don't know how to look at a clock, it is because the clock is not obvious on the page and even if I looked at it when I'm not paying attention, I may not realize quests have been reset. The idea behind this was that it is nice to see something tell me on my page that I can do quests when I'm just watching tv and casually chatting on subeta. If I am not paying attention, an alert or a bar could come across and it would remind me. It would be an alert you could opt out of or a bar that you could block with css so if it did bother you, you wouldn't have to use it. If you're just going to say we have a clock so alerts are unnecessary, why do we have any alert? If something has a 3 hour timer, there's a clock on the top of the page, add 3 to it and boom you don't need an alert any more.
