Hi everyone, I've noticed there have been some concerns about the new payment system on Subeta, and I wanted to clear some things up!
Your credit card information is not saved on Subeta! We do not have access to your credit card information, and cannot access it under any circumstance. It's stored on braintree, the payment processor, that handles millions of credit card transactions per day. It's owned by paypal, so you know they take security seriously.

We saw that it wasn't asking for the CVV information on cards, and that made some people uncomfortable. Braintree processes a lot of the requests on the internet, and can tell when a card has been stolen, but we've added it back for new cards added to the system.

We're excited to get people switched to this system, and we're really impressed with the security features on the backend of braintree that shows us if they think a card has been stolen or is being used without permission. Thank you for bringing your concerns forward, and we hope that we can help solve them with you!

It should but all of them are different. Some of them haven't been processing and it's because they require you to use them somewhere else first and put in a pin. We can only take ones that don't have a pin set.

I just checked this on my tablet, my phone, and on an entirely different computer that I did not use to make my csc purchase, and my card info is still there. And to test it again, I made another purchase from a different device, without having to get my card to put in the info again. And the purchase went through.
I don't like this at all.
Hm, that isn't what I was lead to believe. Either way, the information isn't actually stored on Subeta, it's stored on braintree. Grace is going to make a way to remove the information, as well.

Are you sure it's not a shared browser (e.g. chrome) cloud saving it between devices with autofill and whatnot?
I didn't use chrome on my other devices, no.
What I'm uncomfortable with is that my information is stored at all without my consent. I'm definitely looking forward to being able to remove my card info from this.
1. Your credit card information is not saved on Subeta! We do not have access to your credit card information, and cannot access it under any circumstance. It&;s stored on your computer and if anyone were to log into your Subeta account, they would not see your credit card information.

Same issue for me- just used my tablet with totally different browser to my laptop and my paypal details were there as well :(
Unless the concerns about card info getting saved are resolved satisfactorily, I do not intend to use this service. I hope you guys handle this soon.
thanks :)

I guess I just don't understand why paypal isn't good enought and that you need to bring other way to get CSC. And keep adding shady things that gets taken off for some reasons!
If at least you didn't add a reward thing...
Anyway, I know where I won't spend my money now!
I am happy to finally have a PayPal payment method that is working for me :) (had to write tickets for every purchase over 2 years)
Usually PayPal has a confirmation window for the payment where it shows me the exact amount in $ and my currency €. This window doesn't show up with braintree which was a bit confusing for me. I'm gonna watch this a while, but in general it looks like a good improvement.
because not everyone uses paypal. Some people purchase their csc with prepaid debit cards, cards that are not linked to banks. This gives those people the opportunity to buy csc when they otherwise wouldn't. Stripe wasn't available to a lot of countries so this gives more opportunities to our foreign friends!
Thanks for the new method, though I'll only use it for the BT points to get some items on lumi WLs.
can the be added to the Braintree shop, too? I'd be forever in your debt <3
I am so eager to try this new system and get some braintree bonus items! But it's a shame that the information is currently stored without consent and there is no way to delete it as of yet. I hope that this gets addressed before the bonus is over, as I really want the items but will not be storing my information anywhere else than in my paypal account.
