I don't know how much anime people over here watch, but on a certain other website people love to discuss new anime/anime that are currently airing. ^-^ If you need a list - feel free to look here (I hope I am allowed to link this, if not, kindly just tell me:) ) So I thought I'd make a new thread about this!
As for me, I'll be honest and say I have been a bit out of the loop recently and didn't try out that much yet. Most promising/interesting for me look Overlord and Gate. The latter I think I'll like because I LOVE the character designs. :p
A lot of people like Gangsta. I gave the manga a try not too long ago and didn't like it. I don't think I'll like the anime adaption, either... but we'll see ;w;
I love the manga of Akagami no Shirayuki Hime -- but the anime adaption is hit and miss. It looks nice, but they turned it in a "typical" shoujo romance anime. It's kind of the same thing every episode. The manga did it better (the character designs are also better in the manga; really- the art ist just gorgeous). The flow of the story is also better in the manga since they left out some stuff in the anime.
Gakkougurashi! - I read everything that is translated before having seen anything of the anime. Again, the manga is better but the anime (so far, I haven't seen much) is alright. I feel like it won't translate that well into anime format but it COULD be really good. I loved in the manga how the characters always focused on the bright side of life/things, even when you might as well be completely depressed and just give up... it kind of tells you to never give up and just keep going ^^' Later on (this is a spoiler, be warned!) SPOILER (click to toggle)
it got extremely interesting because a character is delusional (I hope that is the right term o.o)
Uff.. I think I wrote a lot :D I hope someone else can contribute as well, hehe:)

Of the currently airing animes Gatchaman Crowds Insight is my favorite right now. I first thought it was just another anime where happy go lucky magical girl saves the day and world, but I was wrong and ended up even watching the earlier season in one day because it is so interesting.
Gakkougurashi is interesting and I have watched it up to episode 9. Overlord and Gangsta I have also watched to episode 9. I'm at episode 10 on Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakaeri. I don' really know what to think of Gangsta yet. I quess I will actually finish it before I can say if I like it or not. Overlord I like very much. For me watching one super powerful person succeed basically in everything he tries is usually much more interesting than watching a weakling slowly get stronger and stronger.
I have also watched some or most subbed episodes of all the animes you mentioned, but I don't read much manga so I can't compare them that way. I'm lagging behind on most animes this season, because it's just hard to find time and motivation to watch them all when I have the time. There was just so many interesting series this season that I couldn't just choose few and focus on them. I'm kind of trying to watch all of them and failing.
I also watch (or try to watch) Non Non Biyori Repeat, Million Doll, The iDOLM Cinderella Girls 2nd Season, Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace, Charlotte, Wakako-zake, Prison School and Chaos Dragon: Sekiryuu Seneki.
Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace - I probably watch to the end, but I can't stand any of the characters. I just want to know what will happen at the end. Non Non Biyori Repeat and Wakako-zake - It's just nice to watch something like this with little to no action. Prison School - I normally would drop this kind of anime in no time, but for some reason I find this is just hilarious. Much much better than Shimoneta any day.
I also watch animes that have been airing longer time like Tribe Cool Crew and Ace of Diamond.
It would be nice to talk about currently airing animes and hear what other people liked and disliked. I feel like most topics here are either about one specific anime or just a lists of what people or watching or reading, but not much discussion at all.
Sorry if there is any spelling or grammar mistakes. English isn't my native language and today it feels more difficult than normal to write sentences that make sense.
I think summer 2k15 was good - I enjoyed it (cus most of them are approaching the end)
Based on a scale of 1 to 10 (the latter being best) Rokka no Yuusha - 9 Junjou Romantica 3 - 10 (I am biased and will forever be) Himouto! Umaru-chan - 10 God Eater - 7 (Such potential, such waste) Gangsta. - 10 Charlotte - 10 Aoharu x Kikanjuu - 8.5/9
Excited for fall tbh ❤️
My favorite new show this season is Gangsta, though it really wreaks havoc with my emotions. I also really like Umaru-chan, though it took me several episodes to warm up to it... it's actually a really good show and I love it a lot. Gate and Overlord are kind of boring me now, though we're still watching them. I liked Charlotte a lot, but I think it might have ended? Episode 10 seemed very final to me (there was also no opening, which is usually the signal of the last episode). Ranpo Kitan is pretty good, if weird (and getting weirder). Junjo Romantica... eh. I have a love-hate relationship with that whole series. I go back and forth on Aoharu x Machinegun. I'm really only watching it for Yoshitsugu Matsuoka. >> Rokka... I dunno, I'm kind of on the fence about that one too. Again, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka lol. I like Flamie too, for some reason. I want to punch Maura and Chamot, though, like omg shut up, stop lying and barfing all over everything. XD Shimoneta is... lol. Anna makes me uncomfortable, but the rest of the characters are pretty hilarious. Castletown Dandelion or whatever it's called is pretty cute.
Of continuing shows, my favorites are Ore Monogatari (this ranks as one of my top three shows of all time, ferreal) and Ace of Diamond. Also still love World Trigger.
rating all the ongoing animes i'm watching:
Aoharu x Kikanjuu - 8-8.5 (better than expected) Charlotte - 8.5-9 (better than expected) Durarara!!x2 Ten - 10 Fairy Tail (2014) - 10 (totally biased) Gangsta. - 8.5-9 Gintama° - 100000000...infinity God Eater - 6.5-7 (did not live up to the hype) Ore Monogatari!! - 7.5-8 (better than your typical shoujo i guess) Overlord - 8-8.5 Prison School - 10 Rokka no Yuusha - 7.5-8 Shokugeki no Souma - 10
fall...haikyuu...owari no seraph...k...noragami...one punch man... yes yes yes
prison school is just so entertaining and funny i love it haha
i've read Akagami no Shirayuki Hime and thought of watching it but i actually didn't like the art too much, especially their faces. it just didn't look like them...? idk lol :P
WHY IS THERE EPISODE ONE OF OPM OUT ALREADY?? @ Xealias [Edit]
It got leaked cus the airing date is October?? wtf. Saitama tho. Swaggity swag.
pre-aired! except the one i found only had subs in the first half :x if you find/found one that has the whole thing subbed let me know kk? ty n_n
I watched episode of One Punch Man that had most of it subbed. The subs dissapeared for less than 5 minutes after part B started but came back later. It was on animeplus.
I was unsure if I would continue to watch Prison School to the end, but then at episode 3 I laughed so hard that I just had to continue watching it. I had tears in my eyes from laughing, that is pretty rare for me. :D
I agree on rating Shokugeki no Souma 10. I most of the time manage to watch it right after it's subbed so I forget it easier than those animes I must go search later. I feel dissapointed that it will end after two more episodes. I hope it gets next season soon.
To my knowledge Charlotte has 13 episodes. But there have been series that "end" before their last episode is aired (still waiting Kekkai Sensen's episode 12). I would still think that Charlotte will continue couple more weeks.
And I'm really waiting for fall season too. I hope that I can actually watch the series instead of just hoping I would have time to watch them.
So far the animes I'm so far at that I feel confident enough to rate are:
Gatchaman Crowds Insight - 10 Ore Monogatari!! - 9.5-10 Overlord - 9 Wakako-Zake - 8-9 Shokugeki no Souma - 10 Tribe Cool Crew - 8 World Trigger - 8 Ace of Diamond - 8
I'll try rating the other when I have actually watched them to the latest episode.
I'm really into Overlord right now.
There is no Shepard without Vakarian
Ugh, the whole Kekkai Sensen thing is such a catastrophe lol. But yeah, I hope Charlotte does continue... though I have no clue what they'd be doing, the last episode seemed so final. I'd really love it if they explored what happened as a result of Yuu's actions, like with what's her name's brother and the chick from the band? I'd really like to see more of them!... but I guess all we can do is wait until next week!
Prison School more like TITTY CHAN WHERE IS YOU
girl why are you not watching it that's unacceptable
i'll just watch ep 1 of opm when it comes out in Oct xD also yeah, i didn't expect prison school to be so funny! might read the manga once the anime's over and the souma manga too huhu
since you mentioned kekkai sensen, i am utterly disappointed that the last ep is still delayed ugh
I hope for some conclusion to the singer thing too. Does it not happen or do they remember to make it happen? And is the singer ability user too? I have lots of questions about what will happen in that series.
I can't wait for the next episode.
Any series where last episode or episodes are delayed and only recaps are offered as episodes make me annoyed. What is the point of having recap only after 10 episodes and another weird recap episode after episode 11? Gangsta had recap episode after episode 9 and I really hope that it doesn't end up unfinished or delayed too. Recaps annoy me more than episode not aired at all.
Because I read it. But I don't like it.
The currently airing anime I'm watching:
DRRR!!x2 Ten: It's the second half of the second season. I originally have enjoyed the first season while the first half of the second was okay, but with this second half I'm a bit on the so-so train.
Gangsta.: I usually don't watch a lot of violent/gorey anime, but then again I have watched things like Psycho Pass... Technically I would have dropped this after the first episode, but what actually still pulled me in were the characters and their development. The storyline itself is a bit confusing to follow since a lot of things happen, and thankfully there was a recap at Episode 9.5 to help me and other viewers but I think it's a potential anime to watch. I started the manga, and while there are some things that would make me drop it... I stay for jewels like this.
Himouto! Umaru-Chan: This is generally just a cutesy anime about a high school girl who is pretty and a perfectionist out in public (or whenever she wants to beg her older brother for something) and at home, she is pretty much an otaku dressed in her hamster hoodie who plays video games, reads manga, and eats junk food. There are some funny quirks about it, and at times the main character does get annoying with her loud whining and complaining but it's sort of decent to watch.
casually pasts by Naruto and One Piece (I haven't watched Naruto Shippuuden since episode 419 because I already finished the manga and I know what's going to happen but I'm really tired of seeing filler episodes. One Piece is great though.)
One Punch Man: This just started since Fall is near... or is it already here? I enjoy some kicking butt action, but apparently the poor main character only manages to take out the monsters in... well... one punch... and he is bored of it. HE NEEDS A BETTER OPPONENT.
Ore Monogatari!!: I am generally romance-repulsed, but I watch romcoms for storyline... and the giggles. Despite this anime being so cheesy, I find the whole story about the main couple really cute. The recent episode had me in tears though. x_x The last episode will air next week, so I'm just UGH.
Prison School: I read the manga before the anime came out, and if I have to be honest, I half enjoy it while I half loathe it. I actually like seeing female characters kick butt and some of the humor is funny, but it does get out of hand to the point that it's a complete "crack" situation arising in the storyline. I stay for the art style and... cute girls.
Shimoneta: I liked the sexual humor, but then after episode 4... I dropped it within an instant. Burn this to the ground.
Shokugeki no Soma: I was wary about watching this in the beginning because I've heard that there's lots of fanservice, but... IT'S WORTH WATCHING. WHY? BECAUSE FOOD. FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD. Fricking anime food.
Other than that, I'm catching up with the original Gintama before I watch the 2015 season one. A fall anime I'm looking forward to is the second season of Noragami. OH. Looking at the list for Fall anime, I didn't know the second season of Haikyuu!! is airing next month too. I must prepare tissues because sports anime like HQ and KNB make me emotional... Full on friendship/teamwork. Yes.
I typed too much here. I'm sorry.
you took the words right out of my mouth. my thoughts exactly.
awww, what don't you like about it? though i can understand some parts are over the top haha
were those panels actually from the gangsta manga? pfft watching souma makes me hungry YES GINTAMA ALL THE WAY <3 <3 <3 looking forward to haikyuu, noragami and others too x)
I pre-ordered the Himouto! Umaru-chan trading figures from RightStuff. I'm obsessed ;__;
I'll answer u on skype lmao
LOL YES. I'm basically Nico on the topic of... nipples. It makes me hungry too, so I just end up eating snacks or something while watching it! I REALLY LOVE GINTAMA October feels so far away even though it's next month. x_x
I try to stay away from ordering figures because after seeing my friends with their nendoroids and even amiibo craze I don't want my money to poof in an instant. Huhu. This lifesize cushion though...
gasp Oh god, it's soo damn cute!!!? I want one now, damn you. I bet their shipping is crazy tho. These are the figures I ordered. There is even a special eight figure ;__;
