The debate forums have been removed. They didn't fit into our vision of the new community guidelines, and I feel like there are a lot of better options to discuss those topics outside of Subeta.

I admit I'm a little disappointed. I really liked reading the responses and broadening my views on topics by seeing other viewpoints. But I can also see the reasoning behind why they were removed.

Thank you for this update. The debate category was always a dreaded section of the forums to me, and now, with their riddance, I feel almost safer while exploring the social network.

Thank you so much. It was really awful to scroll down the forums and see thread titles where people were debating my very existence as a trans person, etc. Not what I want on a fun pet site where I go to relax.

I never used the debate forums, seemed like a breeding ground to get annoyed by others. Definite chances of hostility, and not what I consider to be important to my daily subeta experience. I can imagine, the issues staff has had to deal with and they dont deserve that either.

While there are real issues out there that could stand to be discussed/debated, Subeta just doesn't really feel like the place for it? Like I'm over here feeding my virtual pet and basically playing a dressup game in the wardrobe, and then someone else is over there debating abortion or something? It's a little surreal. // So I'm happy it's gone, that forum didn't really have a place here.

i used to try participate in the debates, but i saw it can get pretty hostile sometimes. then it occur to me, i came to subeta to have fun playing virtual pets with friends, not getting serious and headache arguing over some real life issue.
