I don't understand.. my opponent bid they had three 5's when they only had 2 dices, so I called them out.. and they won .____. Then again, next round, they bid on 3 fives I called them out and they only had one 5 and one 1 but they still won.. What the heck is going on, lol? what am I missing? xD

Honestly I have never gotten the rules of that game because yeah sometimes it seems glitched.

Grace, do you do anything with Bluff or is that someone else? We need someone to explain this game xD

I don' think it has anything to do with the rules ... how can they win when they have only two dices and claim they have 3 numbers? .__.

I thought at one point it might be the sum of the dice. Like lets say that he has 2 dice and he says he has 3 2's. Then as long as his two dice add up to 6, then it counts. But I think there have been times even that wasn't the case.

Oh, I see.. I really didn't read the rules that way but yes, it would explain why I lost :O

When a bid is made is not on how many dice the person has but the total in the game So, for example, he bets there's at least four 6s, if he has only two 6s but you have two or more he wins (if you challenge him).

I JUST caught on to what Shiroh said and I should have known since the number of dice goes up to 10 xD

Still, even when that's the case it doesn't work. I just lost and I don't understand why. Computer said there were at least three 4s in the game. I challenged. There was one 4 out of the six dices. I still lost. Why? I called his bluff, and he WAS bluffing. I don't get it :( Screenshot

This game makes my brain hurt. Even with everyone's explanations, I still don't get this game. Let me reread it all a few more dozen times and maybe it will click. Sigh

If you're used to playing Bluff and know the general strategies - it's actually a pretty stupid computer, aka unlikely rigged, since you can make it lose 5-0.

Notice how there were also two '1' dices in play. Dices with 1 on them are wildcards (hence why you can't bluff with them).

So for example if you hold two 6's and two 1's, you can safely bluff four 6's without worrying. The 1's serve as wildcards for any number that you bluff.

Similarly, if the opponent bluffs three 4's with only one card, you still have to be careful calling them out because if they do have a 4, your two 1's will also serve as wildcards in this case and it'll count as three 4's.

And of course, same thing with any 1's that the opponent holds. Hope that explains it a bit :P

EDIT: oh actually, this explains 's screenshots too, so pinging you as well :)

Thank you, I knew about the 1 but I didn't understand you had to bet on the total of dices, I thougth everyone was supposed to bet on their dices only xD

I see nothing screwy with those screenshots. All looks fair. Just remember that 1s are wildcards, and can represent any number 1-6 that you wish, and that all dice between the two of you count, not just your own. So you're kind of guessing at what the computer may have when you bluff.

I have the following questions:

  • Are just the same value count? (So if I bid 5 than 6 is not good?)
  • Are all the dies count?
  • If yes, the 1 counts for what? It depends on who has it?

These are not really clear for me :( Thanks for the help!

Hm, it's a little tricky to explain, but a cinche once you get it. I don't really understand the first question. Um, say you have two 4s and a 1. You can safely say that you have three 4s. If the computer makes another guess and doesn't challenge you, and you don't want to challenge it, you could take a risk and hope that they have another 4 or a 1 somewhere in their die and up your guess to four 4s. I'm sorry if that doesn't make sense or help, I'm not great at explaining things. Also, yes, every die in the game counts. You start with 5 dice each, making 10 total. You know the faces of 5 of those, because they're yours. You can also use their dice in your guesses, but you're pretty much guessing at what they may or may not have. So instead of "bluff", the game could more accurately be called "guess". The face "1" dice count for anything. Any number you want it to be 1-6. Like I mentioned in my example above, if you have two 4s and a 1, you could say you have three 4s. Or if you have one 2 and a 1, you could say you have two 2s. Same if the computer has a 1, you can use it as whatever you want, same as yours, you just never know exactly if they may have one.

I've been following this board because, while I didn't think it was rigged, I couldn't seem to get a win.

But... "Congratulations, you won! You have been awarded 10,000 sP and 2 carnival tickets!" I've only tested it once, but I think I've got the idea now thanks to your re-write for the rules page. So... It is safe to say I approve. LOL Thanks!

Will the computer ever call your bid? Or is it basically just a matter of forcing the computer to make unlikely bids?
