Will the computer ever call your bid? Or is it basically just a matter of forcing the computer to make unlikely bids?
I usually end up making it call my bid so it loses 5-0, so yes, it will call bluff.

My question is more in the prize awarding, 3 of the last 4 games haven't awarded any tickets, just the sp. says he "just ran out" or something. :T

maybe, but it took me 4 games to actually get any tickets, and this was over a 2 day spread. (day 1- 0,0 day 2- 0,2) :T

A *staff member said somewhere that the amount of tickets he gives is random... He can give zero to as many as five, I believe. (Highest I have gotten is 4 tickets.)

*Well, I am pretty sure they did but I couldn't find it to quote.

I was very interested in this topic because I just figured out how this game is meant.

I think it is a really good idea to rewrite the rules!

I just read your new rules and I think they are much better but still not optimal. You should put more emphasis on the fact that all dices count.

For example, you wrote:

'A player is then chosen randomly to make a bid based on the quantity and face values of the dice they believe to be in play.'

Instead I would say something like:

A player is then chosen randomly to make a bid based on face values and their quantity of all the dice that are in play, their own and those of the opponent. While you can see your own dices, you might need to make a guess and try to predict the face values and their quantity of your opponents dice before you make a bid or decide if you might want to call a bluff.

And concerning the ones I got the feeling that some users have problems with understanding that their worth can change with every bid, so I'd add:

1 is wild, so it can represent any face value of the actual bid. If a bid goes unchallenged, they are wild again and can represent whatever is bid next.

I hope I managed to communicate what I mean. Please consider that English is not my mother-tongue, so please try to get what I mean since I'm sure there are grammar mistakes ^^'

Sorry to resurrect a topic that hasn't be posted on in three weeks (the rule was three months last time I checked?) but even after reading the ENTIRE THREAD, I still have no freaking idea how to play this freaking game. I'm trying to win it for the scavenger hunt, but it seems impossible. x_x I don't think it's rigged, but I also have no idea how to win it.

What I understand:

  • Your bid is based on all of the dice in play, not just your own hand.
  • You lose a dice when your opponent calls your bluff, or when you lose a challenge on your opponent's bluff.
  • The "1" face on dice is a wild card and count toward whatever the bid is.

What I do NOT understand:

  • Are you bidding on the FACES of the dice, or on the minimum number of DOTS? (Like three 3s = nine dots, one 2 = two dots, etc)
  • Do bids count for HIGHER FACES? For example, if I bid there are at least three 3s, there are four dice left in the play, all of them are three or higher, why the hell did I just lose the challenge?

There is more that I do not understand but I cannot even comprehend WTF is happening to give the misunderstanding words. I wish there was a "Practice Game" that we could play that explained every single thing going on in every single blessed turn so I could actually figure out WTF was going on. OTL

[edit]I eventually managed to win for the scavenger hunt even though I'm hella confused. I got lucky I guess? Sorry for sounding so frustrated... this game seriously needs a guide. xD

Thanks for this. I had no idea it wanted to know all the dice. I thought it was my dice versus his.. Not sure I'll be able to beat it still but at least I know more now

You are bidding on the faces of the dice as far as I know. If you are bidding at least 3 three's then you're saying that between your dice and his dice, there are three dice that have 3 dots on them each. In addition, since one's are wild, if there is a dice that has one dot and you bid at least four 3's, then you'd still be correct since the dice with the single dot also counts. You would be incorrect if you bid at least 3 three's and none of the dice are 3's.

That write up is MUCH better! I always read the current instructions to mean I was guessing what the other player had, not what was in play between the two of us.

I think the confusion about this game stems from the fact that people are assuming it's played like the card game 'bullshit'. When really, it's like the cousin of that. x.x

The game isn't rigged, though it can difficult without knowing how the bidding works :/ Usually I try to use my wild ones to my advantage, though it's kinda rare for the computer to challenge you unless the round goes for a really long time.

I still don't understand this stupid game. Okay, I know both our dies count as guessing, but I don't understand if it means the amount of DOTS on the die or the faces. I try bidding by guessing face value but the computer keeps challenging me and I keep losing. How do I win a challenge?

I have read board after board on this topic and it still makes no sense to me.

Not sure if you've already figured this out, but it's the dots on the dice. If you roll a dice with three dots than that's a three. Two dots = two, four dots = four etc. So if you have 5 dice with 3 dots on them you have 5 3s, not 15.

When you're bidding it includes your opponents dice. 1s are wild cards, so they are automatically added to any bids.

For example I have 2 dice, my opponent has 3. My opponent bids 3 3s. I challenge him because I have 2 2s, and think he can't possibly have 3 3s. Turns out he has 2 3s and 1 1 (so 3 3s), I lose.

You win by correctly challenging your opponent when he is wrong about the number of dice, or when he challenges you when you actually have the number of dice he is claiming.

I.e. I have 3 dice, opponent has 2.

Me:

Roll: 2 Twos, 1 One and 1 Four

Opponent:

Roll: 1 Two 1 Five.

I bid 4 2s. Opponent challenges my bid, I actually have 4 2s because my 2 + my 1 + opponent's 2 = 4. So I win, he loses a dice.

Not sure if that makes it clearer or more confusing

makes no sense, he should lose all the dice that don't qualify rather than one at a time. It's one sided, the ai should be able to /call/ instead of bluffing his entire way up safely leaving all the risk for you, so yea it's rigged.
