I've just pushed a new version of the shoutbox live, that doesn't look very updated but is using a set of new technologies to power it :)

• The "leave comment" button is now on the bottom right corner of the shout, so that users with long names no longer overflow the name box.
• When a user is banned all of their shouts are immediately removed from the shoutbox for every user viewing it, and the shoutbox is immediately closed for that user in all of their tabs.
• When a UA deletes a shout, it is deleted across all browsers and tabs.

The shoutbox isn't used by most users, but these updates pave the way for a more interactive sMail system in the future! Basically it's all nerdy stuff changed on the back end, but I'm glad we did it!

• I just moved the live events over to this system. They should appear faster / be broken less often.

future interactive smail system, you say? i'd vote for either more space for smails or a system where deleting smails is more user-friendly, my inbox is always like 90% full LOL. (also sometimes my mails just dont send, especially from mobile...)

This all sounds pretty good, and I can't wait to see the smail system improved :)

Wow..I haven't heard sMail in a long time:P

there's something up with the SB where you refresh the page, even when going to another page where it technically should be a hard tefresh in and of itself, where all but one or two, and sometimes no, posts show up. If possible, maybe you could please fix the issue of not being able to post in the SB when on the main explore map, too? Just a couple of points :) I know you said you're working on the people who are on block lists so I know that that'll be fixed soon :)

I do hope that the SB isn't going to be removed from the site though. It's a great place for a quick answer if needed, or just a nice fast general place to chat without the wait

Yay, fixed the name overflow problem~! However, since you guys got rid of that stupid gear symbol for new posts, there was no reason to move the comment button. Also the filter seems to be fixed too, hooray!

Unfortunately, there seems to be a problem with the < and > symbols. I don't know if there's other ones that cause a problem.

Im not one to complain, but. The one little problem I have is that the posts vanish once there is a refresh or a page change. This makes it pretty damn hard to maintain a conversation with anyone, or see anything thats been said in general for someone like me, who just kind of naturally hops pages alot.

Im going to leave a tab up that wont refresh to keep up at the moment, but is this a planned and permanent change with the new system, or will it be something to be resolved?

I'd really like to see things like..

"Is there any way we can at least get booted back to the message we posted instead of it "poofing" sometimes I am replying to multiple friends and I am able to type/reply to the point where I get this and then I lose whatever I said."

For more important or personal reasons " Well I know for a couple of friends whom have had to be "away" from Subeta for medical or family reasons have typed out a "mass sMail" of sorts to send out to their friends with updates on the progress or news that are probably close to two pages on like Microsoft Word, and that's one FOR SURE reason to try to find a good option, we have so many players from all walks of life who have different things going on and it would be quite the mess to lose all that information/update."

For the slightly LESS important reason: The meter that shows how many "sMails" a user has is off, I have 4 in my inbox and it's almost full (green bar close to the opposite end.) For example: 6/150 and it's nearly full or all neon green

I know that Said there wasn't a timeline on the update, revamp for it but just bumping the idea up the "to-do" list. :)

Interactive sMail? I'm curious now...

I really want to see new buttons for the mail functions. I use smail a lot but I can Never seem to find the Create New Mail text! You'd think it'd be one of those things that would be big and shiny since that's the point of mail but it's not lol. It's just text set into a dark background. Shiny button on the new one please!

Just noticed this but on pages that don't have a lot of scroll/content on them (like the sP vault) it chops off any widgets underneath the SB. I have my quest widget and shop til widget and on my inventory/vault/etc it will hack those off and show only until the bottom of the shoutbox.

the green bar indicates how much space you have left to use. If it's all green, your inbox is empty.

Well then my request should be to put it back the way it was.
