I let my GA run out a few days ago, and just decided to turn off AdBlock for a few minutes to see what kind of ads show up here. Not even two minutes later I get this:

Really though? Is this a normal? I mean this is about as intrusive as it gets.

I think I read that Subeta doesn't have much control over the ads shown, but is there anything that can be done about this?

Whoa. Pop-up ads? That's pretty bad.

I suppose because lots of people use AdBlock now, ad companies have decided to just say 'screw it' and spew out as many as possible to torture those who don't use AdBlock. -shrugs-

wow that is pretty intrusive .. that would drive me nuts especially when you are doing things like wizard quests, glad we dont have to put up with that or it would put a lot of people off playing at all.

I'm guessing this might be a one-off bad ad or -maybe- something on your end. I just turned off Adblock/removed anti-ad CSS for a few minutes and refreshed all around the site and didn't get any popups.

If anything, I'd say the ads are less terrible than they have been in the past? Stuff like cars, Fantastic Sams, universities, other little dress-up/web games, etc - as opposed to '1 great trick'/'you are the 10,000th visitor!' or other scammier type ads.

The sidebar 'free PDF converter' ad was probably the worst I saw, because it's a download and often a source of Malware. But it was clearly separate so eh.

Subeta REEEEAAAALLLYY needs the money?

I actually think that pop ups aren't something that Subeta allows, the few times I've seen people mention them it was something on their end and they had to run a virus scan.

I remember seeing a thread in PB about some problems with ads, so this might be part of it?

- It might not technically be a pop-up ad, because it didn't open a new window/tab. I'm not sure what else to call it, though.

- I have adblock on again, so I haven't seen any. I don't know if it's still happening.
