I'm still in love with this colour scheme. I really would love to see this become a pet colour, either redraw or colour-fill.

If it were a redraw, I think the pose/attitude should be much "happier" than Hydrus. Maybe do a small summer event, sers and their pets can go on a treasure hunt around Delphi Beaches, come across a magical pool of ocean water which your pet can bathe in, and transform into the colour.

Or fill up a container and dump it on your pet in the off-season. :p

What do you guys think? (I must be missing the summer heat already) [edit] Since this has been relatively well-received, I'll start compiling suggestions here into the OP. You can suggest pose/attitude ideas, concepts for certain pets (ex, Warador holding a parasol, Antlephore having coral-antlers), colour name, and even how staff could build a small summer event around discovering the new colour!

colour name ideas: Coastal, Tidepool, Tidal, Beach, Shoreline, Wave

pet mood/attitude/pose ideas: Cool, chilled, airy, relaxed; maybe some are playful, shake off some of the sand/ocean water; similar patches of sand/salt, crystals like Sandragon; maybe some shells and coral.

event/small plot ideas: Go on a treasure hunt on Delphi Beach, and you and your pet discover a magical tidepool for them to take a dip in. They'll come out as the beach colour.

OR, introduce a new quest, or NPC that is essentially a "good sea witch". Maybe bring back Amy as a spirited, but kindhearted sea witch? (ya'll remember her neh?)

Tidepool may have to be limited access (can only go there in the summertime), but users can fill up a specific container with the tide's water, then dump it on your pet whenever you feel like. :p

I'm ambivalent, it seems like it would be really close to hydrus, with the obvious change in color scheme and happiness.

I still think it would be pretty. It would be cool if every land had their own color. I guess Darkside is associated with Dark Matter, Glacier with Arctic Frost, Hydrus and Omen Islands...

I really like Sandragon's color scheme too, but I think "beach" would be a better name for it than "ocean". Either way I'm for this. :)

Hydrus always seems more underwater-like, what with the dark colour scheme, ocean life, and since Merana's a deep-sea dweller anyways. They also aren't covered in sand or salt crystals, like the Sandragon. xD

But I never thought of that, lands with corresponding colours. Delphi isn't home to any native species of pets either (til the 'canon' hammer comes a'whacking, at least). It's not a requirement obviously, as Storm doesn't exactly fit anywhere. -shrugs- Still, good point.

I like the idea and it has lots of potential. Hydrus seems different enough that it wouldn't be over kill. The colour scheme would be so different.

The Sandragon is amazing. I was in awe when they released this challenger. I was actually going to commission a pet in the future to be the same color as the Sandragon whenever I can afford to. If Subeta comes out with this or something very similar as an official color, that would be awesome. Hydrus pets are cool and all but something lighter and less ferocious would be nice xD

I don't think it's exactly like hydrus at all. Hydrus is brown and reminds me of really really deep sea creatures. This suggestion is more of a surface water / sandy beach color. And if you say that each land has a color of its own, it would be good for Delphi Beach since hydrus is omen islands.

So basically I support this. Like the sand dragon, the pets could be covered in a light dusting of sand, sea shells, maybe some coral or something? Some stuff from a reef? Nothing too noticeable or insane, a seashell here and there, maybe varying from pet to pet what will be on them. And of course the coloration of light blue/aqua etc etc

I totally support this. I love the colors of the Sandragon, but agree it should be more playful or happy as beach goers normally are.

Ooooo I love this idea :D I love the Sand Dragon colors so much.

Some people might say this is too similar to Hydrus, but I think it's different enough to merit a colour. The ocean is such a diverse world covering 70% of the planet, why shouldn't it deserve multiple colours if terrestrial areas get multiple? Hydrus only exemplifies one part of a multi-faceted ecosystem IMO, and the Sandragon really does have such a nice colour palette. The possibility of cheerier aquatic-themed pets appeals to me. Much support!

I really do love that challenger and its colors, so I'd be ok with this. I don't think it's similar to hydrus at all other than a really general ocean-y theme, so I don't see the problem there.

my vote is in for "coastal" re: color names.

i don't think it'd necessarily overlap with hydrus too badly, because hydrus pets are pretty much just that awful brown seaweed come to life, and they're pissed off about it. give us a coastal/beach/tidal color where the pets have that stereotypical beach air of detatched coolness, preferrably with a color scheme similar to sandragon. the light blue, white, tan, peach, maybe even a bit of very light green.

i know the site doesn't specifically have 'seasonal' colors, but you can't argue that glacier has a pretty strong connection to winter, while glade is arguably more of a spring/new life sort of color. i think we'd benefit from a summery sort of color

I misread this as "beach hair" and thought of devontis and serpenths with wavy bleach-blonde hair. I'm not even sorry. :P

And I like your suggestion of "coastal" as the name :)
