Javascript Changes

• We've updated two of our "live" features (event notifications and the shoutbox) to use an updated version of the real time coding. This should result in the whole site loading a lot faster, because instead of creating two connections (one to each) it creates on websocket connection (if your browser supports it) that can be used for either. It should shave most of the speed off the first time you load the site.
• This required a rewrite of both of these systems, so please report any javascript errors you get, especially if its something like causing the page to hang or your browser to become unresponsive.

CSS Changes

• We're fixing styling problems around the site (mostly in the forums) where font sizes are seemingly randomly changing. Our UI library (here) released its first major release (version 1) and all previous versions are no longer being worked on, so we're trying to upgrade the site to the new library as quickly and painlessly as possible. Expect some growing pains here, but keep reporting the places things look weird.

My events tab says that I have 90195 events.

[edit] Seems to be fixed and it says 26 events now.

i've noticed with the notifications that it keeps showing random numbers, like i will only have 1 notification, but it says i have something stupid like 90605, which changes the moment i refresh the page. Obviously not a major issue, but just thought i would mention it!

Well that probably explains why it keeps telling me I have 90194 events. On FF.

But please fix the site width issue (permanently) soon. It keeps getting "fixed" then going back to the way it was before (messed up). Getting a bit annoying here...

It's the whole site, not just the forums. Occasionally it seems to fix itself but it's never permanent. I had assumed that it was a result of the CSS changes...but apparently not?

Get someone who knows how to CSS - the forum format is off, the sizes for the categories are all over the place and/or the same in places, column height is off for said categories and the sidebar/friend feed is unreadable.

Good to see that the fonts are getting back to normal!
