Hello! I'm sorry I have a question, and I hope it doesn't come off as rude >.< Is it still a giveaway/raffle if you have to pay to participate? That seems kind of off to me? I mean I know you're not making profit off of it and I'm not accusing you of anything, it's more if this is an appropriate subforum for this? Or would this be a game? Idk I'm not familiar with a pay-to-participate raffle so it's new and curious territory for me! Haha.
It's an interesting idea though. I might give it a shot if there's something I want sometime!
Honestly, I had no idea which forum it belonged to, I only stuck it here because I saw Die's 'raffle' in the forums XD I debated the Games forum but most of those were for like, dailies and such, and then there's user run games, too but at the time my brain decided not there either, lol. I know it'll make it's way to the right forum eventually if it's the wrong spot.
You be the judge :D?
Ok! Just wanted to make sure if there was something you knew that I didn't. Maybe I'll hold a raffle like this some day as a way to get rid of a few extra CWs.
Thanks for the response! I was so worried I'd offend you somehow haha
oh no not at all offended, I expected a lot of questions since this is really first of it's kind (I had a lot, too!) but since you are the first to post, I'd love some feedback from you!
What sort of items would you be interested in seeing in the prize pool? Would you prefer a "themed" type pool (i.e. all wigs, all bgs) or do you like variety?
It's a cute idea but I'm drowning in slots here (to the point where I don't even have the CSC to cover all the slots I'm waiting for) so unfortunately, I have no spare CSC to participate. It would have been nice if we could participate with sP (whatever the sP/CSC going rate is), then I would have been able to participate.
Also I agree, it'll probably needs to be moved to games, but I checked in the giveaway forum rules, it doesn't really say that it has to be free, and I see where the entry pay is going into more prizes so who knows maybe it'll even be allowed to stay in here.
I think variety is good. Definitely nice idea to do themed ones every now and again (idk how long you plan on running this for?) But that might be more of an event? A Wig Party or something? XD Could be for events like that users have to post their favorite wigs to participate (along with the fee). It'd help you get a feel for what sort of wigs users like, long, short, colored, etc.
But I prefer variety for sure. It's more interesting imo!
I will look into sP tickets, I more or less chose csc because how easily I can purchase more CWs and I can also display the csc in my CW raffle gallery (yay transparency!). I know with sP it'll be a lot easier for me to accidentally spend it XD Perhaps in a future raffle I can do a straight sP raffle with the same type prizes. Thank you for the input!
I'd love to do many raffles but it really depends on how successful it is :) I don't have any expectations at this time and I'm not really at a loss (I can always gift or use MKBs I've purchased). Right now my brain is exploding with ideas thanks to you, teaming up with other groups and doing raffles for them (for example, I know WAA love wigs and it would be cool to sponsor a wig raffle!) so yeah.... I really hope this works out because I know it'll be fun.
Let me know if you want to run any more questions or ideas by me! I love helping with stuff like this lol!
Also, since it's paid would that mean people are allowed to enter more than once? And if so is there a limit to how many times they can enter? Not to say it's unfair or anything because ultimately, they're paying to enter, but just curious if there is a limit or maybe you can only enter once? I mean some people can afford more than others.
Also, I think this will be a bit more successful after Black Friday because I know a lot of people are saving up and not even slotting because of saving up. I personally tried saving up but it's not working because too many pretties are coming out. So I am trying not to spend money on any more CSC until then.
Edit: Also I agree, themed is fun once in a while, but for the most part you could probably just do a variety to mix it up and get different people interested.
Thank you, I sure will! I know I've put a lot of thought into this but I know I haven't thought out every situation that can occur XD So help is always welcome.
A user can buy as many tickets as they want but you can only win 1 prize per raffle. It wouldn't be all that smart to buy more than 6 tickets XD I will make sure to clear that up in the first post, thank you.
I am feeling the same csc pinch lol. That's why I pretty much stopped slotting any CWs 700 or more, they really do add up quickly. I'm willing to let this run as long as it needs to, I'm a very patient person. I'm going to at least complete the first raffle and get an idea of how long it took/how well the prizes are received.
this is a really cool idea and one of the current prize pool items is on my wishlist...but I'm so tapped out on csc that I have none to spare on a gamble right now :( If that changes though...I'll be back :)
Yeah, I definitely think it's good because it's 5 prizes per 30 people that's every 6 people and it's good that one person can only win once per raffle because it gives more people a shot at getting a prize. And like I said, the CSC makes sense because it goes into the next prizes. Which means you can find some really nice pieces for the raffle, and if you only enter once or twice lets say you get a CW for less than pawning price. So if I wasn't drowning in debt for CWs I would definitely have participated. (Maybe if I can find someone selling CSC for sP I might be able to buy some more).
But also in terms of the sP thing, you could also just put an item in your shop (some cheapie item) with the sP in the price worth just to keep track of how much sP has been put into the raffle for transparency purposes, even though that doesn't exactly put the sP aside, you could use it to keep track of or something, or even use the sP entered to buy CSC with, or even, you could just go ahead and buy a CW with the sP and just put that in there to show that it was something that was bought with x amount of sP that was used as an entry. Plus I know a bunch of people are selling CWs for sP, I know accepts sP as a form of payment (partial or full) and I know also sells some CWs for sP, so it's definitely not impossible to find prizes for those entries.
I mean I'm sure there are ways to figure out the logistics of the raffle.
I'm glad it interests you! I think we're all on the 'short on csc' boat right now LOL but I'm not in a hurry to get the first raffle done, just letting it take however long it needs to take but I'd like to complete it at least once!
Oh you should have seen me and Kaje trying to figure out how many prizes to do first, how many is too much, how many too little, what if this happens, yadda. Good idea on the sP tracker though, I'm interested in trying out sP as a form of payment (just not this first go around lol).
Hopefully I can work something out with CW releasers by getting autoslotted for some of the more popular items being released, though it'll be a little more difficult since I'm averaging 600 per prize and most popular items go for 700 csc.
Still a lot to figure out but I'm optimistic :D I know we've got the basic necessities down.
Yeah. Also I think in terms of number of prizes you could mix it up. So for instance, I know you're looking for really popular good items to buy at 400-600, but you could also do once in a while a giveaway where you buy some decent cheap items and have more prizes that round or something. Like for instance buying things for pawn shop price that might be worth a bit more but having like 10-15 prizes that round so like just about every other person wins or something. Of course something that adds up to the 30k you would make from the previous round or something, but it's definitely a way to mix it up.
Perhaps that can coincide with the sP payment form? Definitely something to look into. 10 prizes that average 200-500 csc, sP (or csc) for a ticket. Taking notes, thank you!
I know if I had an abundance of csc right now I'd be tearing up the Pawn Shop, so many prize pool worthy items going in and out of there
Right. And I don't know if Black Friday will have a sale on Pawn shop items but that would definitely be a good time to invest in CWs for such a raffle.
Honestly, I would file a ticket and confirm with a UA where its supposed to be D: I would file a ticket and ask for you, but they've said its better for the user to do it directly in case theres trouble in the future so they have records of what you were told.
