My mom just started using a new resource - Scrivener! She says she loves it. I have yet to try it myself, but I'm curious to see if any of our writers are using it! Anyone try it out yet? Do you like it?

One of the places it can be found is here: http://www.literatureandlatte.com/scrivener.php There is a 30 day trial, and it's based on how many days you use it!

I'm using Scrivener and it's absolutely fabulous! :D

There's also a free demo specifically for NaNo that lasts all the way until December, but idr where to find it on their website. :(

I downloaded Scrivener for a test a few years back and loved it! Got it for a discount after nano and thought it was well worth the cost at the time. Just updated to the newest version at the beginning of the month and it really is lovely. The intro tutorial on it is pretty long (pretty sure it took me at least an hour to go through it) but does cover some handy features that you may not notice otherwise. I'd definitely recommend giving it a try. :)

If I get time to teach myself how to use it, I'm going to give it a try, but as of now, I don't use it.

I am planning on trying it out once I can download it. (Because I'm trying to crawl out from under all the scrap pieces of paper and computer files I have for my on-going stories.) I expect to like it, but I am glad there is a free trial. Watching demos just isn't the same.

Honestly, I downloaded the trial after Camp NaNo in July, started the tutorial, and never finished it. xD I got caught up in a job with full-time hours, switched to part-time hours so I'd have more time for my new puppy who naturally needs constant supervision and a lot of training, but now it's November and I'm too busy trying to write to learn a new program. OpenOffice will just have to do for now!

I've downloaded it. I started out to do the tutorial, but stopped on Step 3... I'll go back to it if I can't figure something out but I tend learn new programs by clicking on options and seeing what they do. XD

Right now I am in the process of creating a "General Help" file, which I'll be copying over for each story. It's got potential pairings, commonly used words and their synonyms, quotes from writing blogs and books, and other random stuff. Once I get that set up I'll be working on my characters, specific notes, and getting to work on my story.

Anyway, I love it! (Not sure how I am going to pay for it once the trial is over though. -sighs- Will definitely be wanting to figure that out.)

I haven't been writing much right now (as you probably noticed I haven't been participating in the Nano board this year :C) but I used Scrivener for my last NaNoWriMo and I bought it afterwards. I just have to say I absolutely love it. It was super useful last november because I could put each part in a different page and the full screen was very nice for word wars. It was easy for planning and reorganizing things. The interface is pretty easy to use and it's a lot more helpful than other programs like Microsoft Word.

I Love Scrivener! I adore how it helps me organize my ideas and the scenes. And the notes are great, I can quickly type in suggestions/criticisms from my writing groups and again keep it organized well and have it easily viewable regardless of where I am in the chapter and the split screen has been super helpful as I re-write, transitioning from draft IV to draft V. Oh, and the photo feature thing, where I can save past versions of my chapters! And its instant back-up making saved my behind once when the original file of my main WIP became corrupted and I almost lost two years of work O_o but then I found the back-up and voila! My sanity saved!

Yeah, I love Scrivener :D
