Do I just have really bad luck or are these games really hard to "beat"?

Ice Fields - Seriously, how do you get past the 2nd, nay, 1st page? Never have I made it past page 2. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT'S BEYOND PAGE 2

Trash Can - Honestly, I'm starting to think this isn't a game or anything actively used on the site anymore? It's always been empty for me. What's up with it? Was it a part of some event or plot in the past?

(and of course the Crypts but I've made it quite far but haven't made it to the end yet shakes fist)

Any games in particular give you a fit? Got any tips for me to overcome my almost 3 year losing streak on these?

I go to the trash can every day (multiple times a day too) with no avail! I am starting to think the same thing. :(

Ugh, yes. I lose at basically the same spot every time in the ice fields (when I remember to do it xD). I used to have the trash can bookmarked & went a ton and never got anything (the achievement!!) so I gave up. x) & I have trouble with all of the carnival games xD I just want the tattoos/food/achievements (looking at u, "Win the grand prize at the Mallarchy Pond!"), and all I keep getting are s & such in various colors.

I'm not much of a gamer, but I have to say my WORST game EVER is Street Team

I think the highest i've gotten is like 49 pts !!

1. Ice Fields. I've won lots of times, the most often of any "chance" game. My strategy is to pick a route and stick to it until I win, then change the route. So, for example, I might choose the option on the left every time, or the right, of pick a string, left, right, right, left, etc.

2. Trash Can - I do believe its now dead, but I'm not positive. I haven't found anything in it for eons. When I did find stuff, the best chance was to do so on the hour, with 11 am Subeta time as the highest chance.

3. Ringtoss - I won the very first time I ever played (I picked somewhere near the middle) and haven't won since. However I don't play often, only when doing Major Drills quests.

4. Crypts - I've made it through a couple of times when they had special days of higher chances. I've only made it through once with the regular probability. I play it the same as Ice Fields, pre-plan a route and stick with it.

My bete noire is Random. I can't get the 10K achievement. It feels like I've won every number in the 9900 range - 9999, 9942, etc, but never the 10K. I'm number 11 on the high score list, so from that you can see that I play it a lot! But never got lucky yet.

Most of the games I do poorly in are the luck based games. I do better in the Mind games like Subeku, memory, tubular tiles, etc. I do okay in the arcade games, but don't really like most of them. Like Street team, I'm good at the game but I get soooooo bored with it.

I did once find a guitar (or something like that) in the trash can. Of course this was 4+ years ago so I can't really vouch for how often it gives things out anymore.

I play Ring Toss randomly too, sometimes you get lucky with it. The prizes aren't all that great though.

My real weakness is probably Saheric Slide, I swear I was cursed by a slide puzzle in a past life. I'm just terrible at them.

I have to agree with everything you've said. On my first acct (three full yrs) I NEVER missed going to the trash can, and never got a thing. I have never seen anything there since coming back (going on two yrs)

The ice fields? Forget it, lol! My short term memory is much too poor to remember the path I took even an hour ago. There's only SO much a person can write down, lol. I've never gotten through the crypts (old and newer version) and I don't have much luck with carnival games.

I like to stick to the sure bets: 200K a day for Caliph's tomb (I only send the score when I win) and Tubular Tiles (if I have time) and since they opened a book shop for experience points, the Mystic Spindles are now well worth playing. I know that game is not for everyone. Some ppl are good at the fast paced games with arrow keys (not me, I've never played video game in my life except for Pong by Atari, circa 1970, lol) but I'm good at The Spindles cause I have a mind for spatial arrangements and logic. I'm SO glad they have the book shop now, since the points were so low it was barely worth playing before.

Have you ever heard of anyone actually winning the 10k on Random? I've asked ppl who've been here 6 to 9 yrs and nobody seems to remember EVER hearing of anyone getting it. I think I came within 10 to 20 pts awhile back and OUCH!! I faithfully keep trying though. I'm not giving up. I like getting whatever it "wants" to give me. :) BTW, congrats on being so high on the list!

i already gave up on trash can honestly. that's an achievement i'll never get. i bet it doesn't even work anymore but staff doesn't care enough to fix it haha.

the game i'm forever hating is reflection. it doesn't bother me so much that there's no way to win on hard mode, but the fact that i need collection items that are prizes on hard more makes me hate it so damn much :c

And Mazes and Mahars. I want to play it, but I can't seem to grasp it ever. ><

Wow, that's amazing, thanks for sharing. Was it during your first 2 yrs here (since you've been here over seven). Just wondering because my first account was active from Jan 09 through Jan 12 and I got hooked on the GA w/in a few months and never was w/out it, so played Random faithfully every 90 minutes. I also have been known to sit here and play for 12 hrs or more...not as much in the last 2 yrs due to health issues.

But I simply wonder if that was a recent win or when you were new. I'm VERY glad to know that someone has gotten it. I just posted on the over 9000 forum (do that frequently) and during Morostide people were SO busy that, when I got over 9000 twice in a row I had to edit my post, since NO one had posted in nearly 2 hours!!! That rarely happens. Another thing that rarely happens is that I made 11 forum posts (just a short time ago) and didn't get even ONE "raffle" point. I hope when I send this one I get a point. Usually, after 4 to 6 posts I get one. Forums were NOT my thing until they opened that shop. I'm not sure WHY subeta wants ppl to post on forums. I guess it's just one more incentive to keep ppl interested and playing.

I know that one thing Keith said in his most recent live chat is that the number of ppl here playing drops off a LOT when there's not an event happening. It's nice for me since I need time to catch up and sort things out. I've got a slow "old" brain, lol!

Hmmm...When did I get it? xD Definitely not in my first 2 years. I used to post faithfully in the over 9000 thread, too, but once I won I stopped since....It was kind of moot point by then. xD I don't remember exactly when, but it was within the past 2 or 3 years. So relatively recent, I suppose. <3

xD I feel ya, I'm not typically a chat it up on the forums person, but that shop has so many nice little things that I want, so I guess it lit a bit of a fire under me. xD Those items plus the achievements...I need to start posting more if I ever want to get there! I see, well thanks for letting me know. I guess I can see how you might have lost your motivation to stop posting on the Random 9000 plus after winning the 10K, but now it's just an easy quick post toward more forum points. I have routinely been posting on the thread to say what I got from Ikamoradeekanox (not sure I spelled that right) and it feels stupid to go around hunting for forums to drop quick posts here and there, but it's something to do. I'm alone almost all the time, so why not. I still haven't gotten a point after 12 posts, however.

I didn't ToT using those threads because it feels like more work to post every time.

At the moment, I have to "pack it in" and get to resting. It's nearly 8 AM, I've been up all night as usual...I don't sleep much, but it's almost always during the day.

Now I'm REALLY off topic. I hope they put some books in that forum shop. I'm going to keep saving and spend nothing there until they add a book. I'm surprised that they didn't put one in immediately.

OK well, it's been nice chatting, and I'll slap my own hand for going off topic. That's one of the reasons I have stayed away from forums. I think it really discourages ppl from communicating. But then I'm not a 20 something, I'm 59, so perhaps Keith and others who make decisions about these things see it differently.

I'm not criticizing, but I've noticed that many ppl who are in a different generation than I am think very differently about certain things. I've never tweeted, but that would certainly get ppl hooked on communicating in very brief posts and that is SO restrictive to me. This is a completely different world than the one in which I grew up. I LOVE it in many ways, but in other ways it's frustrating. Have a good day!!

Yep I, personally know of a few people who have gotten the 10K. LOL and their reaction included, thrilled disbelief and a bunch of other stuff!

I totally love Mazes and Mahar, but sadly, the game takes way too long to play for what it rewards. In the time it takes to play 1 game of M & M, I can play all 10 games of Caliph's tomb, tubular tiles and several other games.

You may a good point about posting in those threads, I didn't even think of that! Thanks!! I'm also hoping they put some books in there, for the moment I'm working on the Hoarder achievement, but if it retires before I make it, I want to have a ton of books and foods for my pets. :]

Well its true that part of the reward of playing is that it is fun to play :), which is why I still play it sometimes, just not often. The reason I'm good at the game is that I've played other, similar games, some much more complex both online and in RL. It does take some patience to learn it well.

I wish I could give you some hints to help you out, but the game doesn't really lend itself to that kind of thing. Mostly its just about reading the cards and understanding how they work. Like, for example the box of sugar card, that gives you extra damage doesn't take effect until the round AFTER you play it, so I usually do something like play the box, then as my second card, play something defensive, like the card that prevents traps.

As for the hoarder, I'm such a hoarding nut that I got the top hoarding achievement about 5 months after I started this account. I had experience in the joy of hoarding from my first acct here. Now I'm working on the one to get the unique items. I have 12348/15000. I thought when I reached 10K that was the end of that one, but they added new tiers since a few yrs ago! I'm not into most achievements, but I DO like some and I LOVE to hoard, lol. I hope you've gone to bed by now!! :)
