Duh! I should have thought of Japan based on your UN. I simply RARELY meet anyone here who's in Japan, are you actually from there, or living there at this time?
I hope you got some sleep, I purposely didn't respond to you anymore the other day, in case you were still online, I didn't want to tempt you. I've barely been getting any forum pts lately. Finally after almost a week I wrote a ticket. I found out that these posts in the games forum don't count. I have NO clue why. But most of my posts are in general discussion and small talk, so those should count. I made over 20 eligible posts before I finally got another point. I used to get one for about every six posts. I wonder how it is for other ppl.
I'm just living and working here for now~
I did in fact get quite a bit of sleep! Thank you! Too bad now I'm sick. >< I'm so over sinus infections. Whenever this one feels like passing, I'm so ready! ><
Darn, these posts don't count towards forum points?? That's a bit lame, since it's still kind of a discussion forum but ah well. I haven't been posting so much since the event ended and I got sick, so I'm afraid I can't be of much help figuring out the frequency. D:
Currently, I'm attempting to play Blackout without the assistance of a guide, but it's nearly impossible for me. xD I know the general idea, but the opening moves always mess me up. ><
Hi again. I meant to reply to you before this, but I ran out of steam. My back has been out and I'm in pain all the time as it is, so this sort of "takes the cake."
So you're in Japan for now, and where are you from? I always enjoy finding out these things about ppl. Some ppl think that I'm boring because I like to know stuff about other ppl that others think is mundane. Other ppl think I'm too nosy, but I think it's interesting to know where ppl are.
We are ALL shaped by the culture in which we lived as a child, young adult etc, whether we want to believe it or not. I once went to a two day forum called "Who you are is where you were when" and I think there's a lot of truth to it. I grew up during the Vietnam war, the Civil Rights movement and the rise of Feminism (women marching for equal pay, burning their bras, etc) in the US and it had a HUGE impact on my life.
But I was in a small town in the midwest so the riots and all seemed as if they were far away, even though I was less than 2 hours from Chicago. I watch Mad Men and I am seeing my childhood all over, from an adult perspective, and it's VERY interesting. The show starts in 1960, and the main character has a daughter who is almost exactly my age at that time. I turned 5 that yr.
I agree that it's dumb that these posts on game forums don't count toward forum points. I think that ALL the forum posts should count. A forum is a forum and it takes effort to post!!
I'm so sorry to hear about your sinus infection. I've heard they are very painful. I don't think that I've EVER had one. I'm 59 and I've escaped colds and sinus infections for most of my life, but I have a LOT of other health issues, so I guess it's fair. I've seen ppl cry from the pain and discomfort of a sinus infection. I hope you're better than you were two days ago.
I think I may have tried to play Blackout once or twice and I didn't have the patience. I'm in SO much pain that I can't concentrate well, so if a game requires me to do a lot of reading to learn it, I don't bother. Game guides are great for those who can tolerate it and I wasn't always this way. Now I simply like to play games that I already know, or that I can figure out w/out having to read. I spent SO much of my young life reading for HS, University and other things that I just want to have fun now!!
I love Mystic Spindles and I DID have to think a bit to figure out the intermediate level with 5 discs, but I probably won't take the time to try the one with 6. The method for even numbered discs is sort of opposite the one for odd numbered discs and the older I get the more dyslexic I am. Short term memory losses make it difficult for me to reverse things in my head (which I used to be good at) and it's another reason I stay away from game guides. I simply can't retain the info. I'll tell you that menopause is NOT kind to a woman's brain, and being in pain robs the brain too, so I've got a double whammy going here. I don't mean to complain, just explaining and babbling, lol! :)
Oh, you know, as far as the frequency of forum points, they have definitely decreased. I post 6 to 10 times a day on meaningless general discussion forums and lately I've been getting a point for about every 15 to 20 posts. I was getting them after 6 to 8 posts when they first opened the forum shop. Oh well. I have 25 pts now, and the item I want is exactly that. I am going to save them though, cause I'm hoping they put a book or two in there. All the quest shops have books! :)
I truly hope you're feeling better!! ❤
I'm actually from Southern California~ Though I had a rather uneventful childhood, I suppose. Maybe that's what made me want to get out of my sleepy desert town and change countries...
Yeah, sinus infections suck, but there's much worse I could have, I suppose. xD Mine typically aren't so bad, like a cold but more concentrated in the sinuses and less in the chest. Every so often I get a rather bad one, where the sinuses are so inflamed it feels like you've been punched in the face all the time. x.x; Luckily this time has been a more mild one, but I can't seem to shake it. ><
Awww, I'm sorry you're in pain so much! That must make it really hard to do normal day to day things as well, not just concentrate on these games. As much as I love Mystic Spindles, I get turned around in that game so easily. Anything other than like...Classic is nearly impossible for me. I can't think logically enough to do it. xD:
Hope today has been/is good to you~! <3
Ice Fields- seriously, i always lose after finding the cub and that's if i get lucky (i always have a cookie too!) I don't really care for Thimblerig as it takes so long to play. the only thing getting me to go there is the chance for a beanbag. CARD CRUSADE, OH MY GOD, CARD CRUSADE. I can forgive the other chance games as i know i'll have a low chance of winning (although i've gotten almost all the Mind Reader prizes now..at least for tier 3, if there are tiers) but Card Crusade takes forever to lose! I've been trying to care about it for the past 2 weeks and FINALLY lost my first game. The only thing that keeps me in that hellhole is the achievement...which i hope i get soon before i lose my mind. i don't care much for the slider either, it can take far too much time and it's annoying that drills is asking for it now.
