Lately, I've been thinking a lot about pet-based activities. I train all of my pets for the BC, but other than battling (all stats), the job agency (intelligence), and possibly the pumpkin patch (I read once that the chances of finding Snowflaik increased with a pet's intelligence, not sure if it's true or not...), there aren't a lot of activities where pet stats play any kind of role at all. So, here are some ideas on activities and games where a pet's stats come into play:

1. The Box Chuckin' Game: This activity would rely on the strength stat of your active pet. The higher your pet's strength, the farther the box could possibly go. The farther the box goes, the better your prize would be, ie. more Sp or a better item. There would also be boxes of different weights, the heavier the box, the better the prizes. Each box would be double the weight of the box before it, ranging from 5 pounds to 2560 pounds. That would make it 10 levels in all.

So, if you have a pet with a strength stat of 20, he'd be able to throw the 5 pound box up to 20 feet out of a possible 150 feet, the 10 pound box up to 10 feet, the 20 pound box up to 5 feet, and wouldn't be able to even lift the 40 pound box. A pet with a strength stat of, 4000, however, would be able to throw the 640 pound box up to 100 feet, the 1280 pound box up to 50 feet, and the 2560 pound box up to 25 feet.

2. Pet Vs. Vehicle Races: In this game, the speed stat of your active pet is the deciding factor. You could choose a vehicle for your pet to race, ranging from a bicycle to a bullet train, and your pet's speed stat would determine the probability of a win against that opponent. Again, the level would determine the type of prize you'd receive, with level 1 only giving out very common items and/or a low amount of Sp (under 500 Sp) and level 10 giving out the best game exclusive prizes and/or a nice chunk of Sp (over 80,000) for winning. Of course, you'd only be able to play once per day.

Level 1, Bicycle Level 2, Moped Level 3, Car Level 4, Street Bike Level 5, Locomotive Level 6, Racing Motorcycle Level 7, Formula 1 Race Car Level 8, Rocket Car Level 9, Jet Cycle Level 10, Bullet Train

Pets with the default 10 points of speed would only have a 15% chance of beating the bicycle, a 5% chance of beating the moped, and a 1% chance of beating the car. A pet with a speed stat of more like 300, however, would have more like a 70% chance of beating the car, a 50% chance of beating the street bike, and a 20% chance of beating the locomotive.

3. Anti-Dodge Ball: In this game, your active pet's defense stat would be the key to their chances of survi...uh, winning. The goal of the game is for your pet to take as many hits from balls as possible without getting knocked down. The higher the pet's defense, the better its chances of surviving each hit would be, and the pet's odds of staying would slowly go down with each hit it takes.

Pets with a defense rating of under 50 would start out with a 25% knockdown chance, under 100's would have a 15% starting knockdown chance, under 200's would have a 5% starting knockdown chance, and 200+'s would have a 0% starting knockdown chance. The chances of getting knocked down would go up a certain percentage each round depending on how high their defense is. The lower the defense rating, the more your pet's knockdown chance increases per round.

You'd win 30 Sp the first round if your pet stays standing, and will be shown your pet's chances of staying on its feet in the next round and given the choice to keep going for double or nothing or take the money and run. To encourage people to keep going when the odds get worse, there should be an achievement for your pet coming through when the knockdown chances are 75%, 85%, 95% and 99%.

4. Hold Your Breath!: This game would depend on your active pet's health stat. The higher the pet's health, the longer he'll be able to hold his breath. The longer the pet holds his breath, the better the prize.

The way this game would work would be that each second your pet holds his breath, your pet looses a bit of health from a meter on screen and the amount of heath lost would increase over time. For instance, after 1 second, your pet looses 10 hp, after 2 he looses 20 hp, after 3 he looses 30, and every 5 seconds, the hp loss per second doubles to 20, then 40, then 80...and so on. If your pet looses all of its hp before you hit the "breathe" button, you loose and walk away with nothing. If you hit the "breathe" button before his hp runs out, however, you leave with a prize. Anything from a cheesy prize, like a friendship ring or a kazoo to something great like a giant plushie.

5. Jar of Jellybeans: This game would depend on your active pet's intelligence. Basically, once per day you could go to a page with a jar of jelly beans and you pay, say, 100 sp for your pet to guess how many there are inside. The higher your pet's intelligence, the higher his chances are of getting it right, from a 1% chance for pets with an intelligence rating of 0, to a 70% chance for pets with an intelligence rating of 400+. If your pet guesses correctly, you win any one of several jelly-bean themed prizes (wearables, foods, weapons, books, ect.) or a small amount of Sp. If you loose, well, you're out 100 Sp.

These are just the things that I came up with, and they may not be perfect since I don't know much about programing, so some may need some tweaking or be out-and-out impossible. However, I think this is a good jumping-off point for a discussion about these sorts of games at the very least. Don't be afraid to post your own stat-based activity/ game ideas too. That's what this topic is here for, after all!

I too love this idea. Anything really, that both involves pets and uses their stats.

LOVE it. Stats have such potential, as you've obviously shown. I think it's a shame to only reserve them for battling.

omg these ideas are so cute! I really love all these game ideas.

it takes SO long to train a pet, years, or at least a bucketload of sP and dedication. I'd love to see more reasons to train pets! it'd also add incentives in general other than being able to battle new opponents, as it can take a while between each opponent.

I'd love games like you suggest!

It would also add more focus on the pets, as quite a lot of people are complaining about not enough pet related activities for a pet site.

I'm not even much for training my pets and I'd support this. It seems you've really thought out some viable possibilities and none of those games sound so complex that it'd take tons of man-hours and work to implement. Cheers.

I like all these ideas. It'd be great to have something to do with four-figure stats besides battling (I trained my pet to make him look impressive, rather than because I'm very much interested in the BC). And moreso than cash/item rewards (which I think should be very limited), I like the idea of achievements tied to them - or maybe even trophies that would display on the pet's profile? I'd love some trophies for pets, besides the Site Spotlight.

Started to write a lot more about how I'd just like to see more activities for pets in general, not all of them necessarily related to stats (so newer players or those who just haven't wanted to train their pets before could also have a chance to shine), but on reflection decided to keep that and maybe make a suggestions post of my own later. ^_^

I would love any of these ideas to be implemented! I know that Subeta is leaning more towards a social network, but I really would love to see more focus on the pets.

Yes, please. All of these games sound like fantastic ideas and I would love it if stats came in to play more often, since it seems like the only thing they're good for is battling (which not everyone does) and jobs (which are currently being revamped anyway). I think that games like this would be a great way to include users whose pets aren't quite ready to battle or get higher level jobs, so that they can at least have some sort of a better incentive to train their pets up. Something I've noticed is that there's sort of a period while training pets from the very beginning where you can't really do much of anything except for more training, which can really add up sP wise for newer users and can sometimes get redundant. This would be a great way to fill in that gap between starting to train and being able to battle (and also getting a job, because some of the new ones require pretty high stats).

Basically, I can't find anything wrong with these suggestions. They're great and very well thought out. Awesome!
