Big Project WIP: Baby Pram Okay so I pretty much fail at perspective, but I tried my best. If you could redline while explaining that would be such a huge help.

Also, color ideas would be welcomed.

Mostly I wanted this because I know that ever since I saw the subeta prams I've always wished they were wearable.

first, may I make a red line, very minor perspective thing? (I find it rude when people make redlines without asking permission first lol) secondly, omg MAKES ME THINK OF THE EVIL BABY PRAM MOROSTIDE HEX

A very original idea. C: The upper part is okay. The wheels need to get a smaller angle, though. Try to make them a shorter perspective, like this.

Are you talking about all 4 wheels, or just the back or just the front ones?

oh hi I'm blind XD

I'm not super super good at explaining these things, so if I miss something just ask!

click for larger | I have not changed any of your original artwork, I just put lines on top (so I didn't alter the wheels or anything).

so, let's envision the crib part of the pram as a rectangular prism (box). I drew the basic schematics of the top portion of the crib (didn't do bottom because it's technically rounded, but it still applies). I'm going to use the parallelogram shape dealio to We want the lengths and widths and heights of the rectangles to match what they're supposed to match (ie, length is same as length of other side, etc).

I drew out in yellow the "height" of the crib on both sides; the side in the back is significantly bigger than the front, so the crib looks a bit lopsided but surprisingly rights itself on the top. I drew in orange a proposal of to right the heights... I know this isn't a perfect model of the crib on a pram, but here's kind of how the logistics go: yes? the toughest part to do is to show the shortened curve, marked in yellow. I think most people shoot for a straight line, and I could be wrong on this, doing this kinda quickly (erp) I marked a bit in blue on the curve that sticks out significantly that makes it seem like it's lopsided... I mean, there's multiple ways to fix it. I just wanted to point out that it looks a tad lopsided with the yellow/orange portions.

Now for the wheels, you want to avoid having lines sit on the edge of the image. I think others have been warned/denied for that. Also, note how the original wheels don't align with the crib of the pram. I hope the gridlines other there make it self explanatory?

I hope that's a bit helpful? You can also look into making the inside of the crib a little less visible, so you'd alter the parallelograms

omg you rock so much x.x thank you!!

Also I wanted to leave some of the inside visible so I could shade either a blue or pink blanket inside of it so people could specify that they have a girl or boy baby if they wear it on their avatar.

The back ones (and the wire) are high and the front one are low. I'm sorry, I didn't know how to explain that, I lacked words. ^^' pretty much said (almost) everything for me.

BTW, I'm curious. Will you put a baby in the carriage?

I was thinking about it, but I'm not sure. I would have to make different races of babies if I did that, and I'm not sure I would have enough interest to do even one batch of each race :(

no problem :) glad I could help any! ya, your ref looks a bit lopsided in one pic XD but then I realized it's because the crib itself does sometimes hide the corners, and obviously, you can't see through the crib :)

you might want to start off sketching the schematics and structure of things before directly drawing them? I find it helps a ton~

I don't know why I didn't think of that... I guess I was in a hurry to get my idea down before I lost it.

I've fixed the proportions A LOT. The perspective looks tons better, thanks for your suggestions.

However, now I have an issue on how to position the wheels so they aren't running over the HA's feet. Also, any kind of line art suggestions. I use SAI Paint for my line art.

For optic compensation, you could make the front wheels a little more apart. They look too joint.

As for the line art, work with a thick black one, and the thinnest possible in the insides. A heavy black lineout will make it too heavy. If you need help with coloring, this guide by fuuzei-chan will help you tons.

New update, I just finished the lineart. I'm still having problems with the wheels, can someone red line a suggestion that would fix them?

Looking better, but your perspective on the wheels is still off a bit, and it currently looks like your pram is standing right on top of the HA's foot! :P No worries. Here's a suggestion for readjusting the wheels and support structure a bit, hope it helps! Thank you so much! Wish I had seen this earlier, I just finished another revision trying to fix the wheels. I'm trying not to make them too close to the bottom or right side of the HA because I heard that sometimes items get denied for being too close to the edges. Check my first post for the new WIP.

Thank you so much for the help, I'll definitely keep working on it. I want it to be perfect. :D

Edit: Your revision looks a lot better, but there just isn't enough room on the HA D: If I had more room I could totally make the wheels so that they looked awesome like yours. When I try to fix it par your suggestion they get cut off.

Oh well, we missed each other in passing! I think the new version looks a lot better, but you do have a problem of the wheels looking like they are going uphill a bit. Keep at it! Perspective is a hard thing to master for suuure.

If you rotate the pram a bit so that the carriage is more over the wheels, and adjust the perspective so that it stays within the plane of the feet, then it won't look like it's going uphill. Move the back right (our left) wheel more towards where the point of the plane I drew is.
