After reading through 's old/locked ethereal pet colour suggestion, mentioned the colour could resemble that of the patronus animals seen in the Harry Potter series.

I think this would be an interesting concept to turn into a pet colour. Instead of using blue undertones, Afterlife/ethereal colour could use yellow, orange, creamy undertones? If it went more in the direction of 'afterlife', it could be a future Morostide colour, since Graveyard is, or inevitably will be finished before long. It could be the opposite to Nightmare. After all, no scary season is complete without ghosts or spirits of the dead. :p

But isn't Angelic the true opposite to Nightmare? someone asks. I have two problems with this statement.

1.With the Angelic colour, pets without wings naturally, gain feathered wings and halos--while Nightmare pets retain their species usual features (albeit slightly deformed, enlarged fangs, and overall creepy appearance).

2. Afterlife, or whatever this colour you wanna call it, would not be a direct opposite to Nightmare either. In fact, I don't believe that the idea of "opposites" is even a factor into what colours become official.

In short, this suggestion of ethereal, spirit afterlife, etc. pets has been mentioned time and time again. Not particularly to the same degree as Storm was, but still, I've seen this suggestion crop up at least once a year. I, for one, would love to see ethereal pets become an official colour.

What about the rest of you? Like/dislike? Does the concept need to be further explored? Comment your opinions and any other ideas you might have. Any contribution will be compiled into this original post. =)

I tried suggesting this and it got shot down. They said use nightmare and make an overlay. I'm afraid they'll say the same here

I'm not one to give up. :p Sometimes all it takes is just presenting a suggestion in a different perspective or conceptual design, in order to appeal to the masses.

No. We have angelic and nightmare. Even presented as patronuses they'd look like recolored nightmare.

Thing is we already have a spirit common animal, i.e. the keeto which always reminded me of a spirit fox.

I agree that this is something that really looks like it could be achieved pretty simply with an overlay so I'll have to say no as well.

I honestly LIKE this idea... far more than storm and the like. "Use Nightmare"-- this would be extensive editting, since nightmare is meant to look fierce and scary. The way I would see it would be much like a representation of the pet after it has crossed the rainbow bridge.

I like this idea, but I do feel like it overlaps with the angelic and the nightmare (both being pets that represent the afterlife) and I think it would be so close to the Harry Potter concept that it would be almost a copy of that creation. So even though I like the idea, I'd have to go with no as well. I know it can be quite costly but perhaps doing an overlay or having someone make some art for you would be a better option for those wanting this type of pet? (I know I would want one) The nice part of the overlay is it could give you more freedom artistically.

I like the idea, and re: similarity overlap, I think now that we have glade vs autumn, it could easily be a nightmare pet recolour.

I love the idea of an ethereal pet color! However I would want it to be a newly drawn pet. It would make no sense to recolor nightmare since those pets look vicious. These would be different from angelic too, since for me angelic comes off as cheery hyper, while I imagine this idea to be much more calm and collected.

Also as far as keetos are concerned, this color could still be applied to them. There are plenty of "redundant" pet/color combos, such as glade aenoids, and steamwork cadogres and eandavors.

I think copying a patronus would be too boring, but the idea is nice. I think something more tactile like a Zodiac Rabbit Spirit, for instance, would be a more subeta-ish take.
