I was looking at the battle tokens and trying to decide if I wanted to buy anything or keep hoarding them, when I noticed that I have enough tokens to buy a Gorgun, which is on my wishlist.

I checked it stats on SubetaLodge and compared it to the Icy Freezing Rod of Doom (which is my current freezer) and it ... looks like the rod is better than the gun? It does more icons at least according to SL. Can a battler confirm for me? Is it worth it to buy the gun or should I stick with my rod?

(Hopefully it's okay to ask this hear, rather than the general battling forum? I really don't know which would be preferred)

The Gorgun will freeze 100% of the time whereas the Icy Freezing Rod of Doom has a "high" chance to freeze. If you're using it now you'd have a better idea of how often it freezes but I would guess high is still less than 50% of the time. I would recommend the gun because it's a reliable freeze. You don't want to spend 3-4 turns using the Rod to try to freeze your opponent when you could be using a better weapon that does more icons and heals you instead.

In my experience with using the Icy Freezing Rod of Doom, it's actually been pretty reliable, with it freezing most opponents on the first turn without trouble. It's not 100% like the Gorgun claims, though, but high is definitely more than 50% of the time.

I haven't seen a reason to switch yet, but you might want to work with 100% reliability rather than just freezing most of the time. Sometimes the rod does fail, after all, so it might be good to have the added assurance. Personally, though, I'm pretty good with the rod in my set.

Yeah, the rod works fine enough for me most of the time. I have an ultimaplus tag (Thanks wish granter!) now which has a chance to freeze as well, so with two chances I'll just keep hoarding my tokens until the time is right. I'm sure I'll get one eventually.

What's Pacifist's tier currently? The Gorgun is definitely good, because of the 100% freeze. I use mine on the first turn depending on the opponent.

When you get to T6, you might want to consider adding in a , because it heals and has a good chance to freeze w/o taking up the freezer slot; it served me well for quite a few tiers.

But the Gorgun is a nice cheap investment that will stick with your set unless you wanna upgrade in the future, to something like a .

She's eight at the moment. I've got both of those things on my wishlist. Honestly, I'm planning on being a shit and asking for the reborn wand in the shrub, so I don't have to spend 10m xD But barring that, once the event ends I'll end up buying it and waiting for winter to get the ice wand so I can make the super wand.

8 huh...yeah, there's nothing remarkable at T8 unfortunately, as far as weapons go, except maybe Prodigy Staff, but that's something you can wait on or not get.

is something I'd consider saving up for, which is better than the Gorgun. The blessing gives you 2 turns of protection and has good defense. Save up EH tokens if you can, buy the intricate parts or helmet from a user; I've seen some helmets get listed in shops for 50 mil, which is a great snag if you have enough sPs!

Once again, something on my wishlist, all of the robot bits are, but actually for my wardrobe. I never looked in to the stats of any of them.

Sorry 'bout that, I'm lazy about looking at WL. xD But yeah, it defends 75 light icons, 5 water, wind and earth, OPB 100% freezer, and the blessing protects against stealing/freezing for two rounds. A better freezer than the Gorgun, which is primarily a OPB 100% freezer with a small amount of attack icons.

Okay cool, so skip the gorgun and work on investing in a robot helmet. I'd be interested in any other tips you have in general. And to avoid off track posting, I actually have a thread just below this one for general t8 suggestions. Or comments idk.

Scientist specs is a tier 8 freezer blocks 25 water and light. does some damage. Boosts strength and def by 50.

Mad scientist drops it after 5 wins. just FYI. Relatively cheap.

Not too bad, something I might check out. Is it 100% OPB or infinite use w/ high chance?

OPB. Pretty sure 100% freeze.

For tier 8, maybe the rapier of error or large gutting knife (though I think the LGk became much more expensive). These tiers aren't as much fun lol. IMO tier 11 is better for the poorer battlers like me lol. PBB and rift staff are cheap and very effective.
